Q: During setup, always stuck in “internet connection time out”
✅ Apps Setting
1. Make sure the Apps region is set as Malaysia or Singapore, but not China Mainland.
2. Make sure Mi Home APP is up to date.
3. Make sure Router, Wi-Fi Extender and Phone is close to each other
4. If the above does not help, restart WiFi router (reset wi-fi extender won't help). In some cases, customer need to call their Internet Service provider (e.g. Maxis and Unifi) to reboot the internet.

Propably possible but each will loose performance due to need to comunicate.

But it doesn't have “Roaming” option. You must connect to new network instead of your main network
you can setup the wifi network names the same as is on your main router and then all devices will work without any setup and switch to whichever AP has better signal

I have iPhone every time i open the app it closes from itself every single time.. for the first time I downloaded the app it didn’t closed!!! Its extender is rather poor in performance. To use IT upstairs IT needs to be xonnected via cable. Propably for better performance You need different device that this or even better a second router
i have a problem with this product, I cannot connect it to an open router (no password).. you still need to input password to the network you need to connect the ac1200 even if it is an open network

I have this exact model, DO NOT RECOMMEND. It works great for like a month, then it becomes so fkn shitty and disconnects regularly and won't reconnect untill you restart it multiple times (if ever), it'd disconnect for 15mins every day.

Not even working for me. The device keep saying bring the device closer. I don't know which "closer" is considered closer since I put them both really close, still it can't pick up. And also I tried everything, changing the password, using the Ethernet cable. Still no luck. It keeps saying authentication failed like what? I make sure all the password are correct but this is just some bs.

@@rj-eh8cp teory is you connect extender via cable and in ap mode it works as "one" with base router ,but propably limited by max speed of 100Mb/s cause that is max speed via cable at least in specs. Gonna test it today

@@joshdax2 Yes it works, but. The extender can only take up to 100 mbps and there is no packet loss thats all. I don’t know if its about my plan.

my main router can go up to 300mbps and I want to get every bit of it when i extend it. Maybe I should just opt out for a proper router

@@ziyaadmahomed2060 In my old router it solved when i set to channel 36 on my source router and connected through WPS buttons. I've to tryed 3 times to work. But it don't work for all routers. On my old worked but i buyed a new and in that dont works.

3. ADD A DEVICE
4. SELECT YOUR WIFI REPEATER (AC1200)
5. THEN SELECT YOUR WIFI INTERNET 2.4G AND ADD YOUR PASSWORD.
TADA!!!! YOU ARE CONNECTED!! AFTER 1 HOUR OF STRESSING HOW TO CONNECT 🤕😌😂😂
❌DON'T FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS OF MI HOME ❌
Don´t buy that shit ! it cannot reach more that 3 meters ! Configuration on app fails all the time, several videos show problems with the app not detecting the device. Also WPS button, you are lucky if it connects, you have to reset and try 10 times to connect. Some modens do not work with it.

This range extender sucks. It has many issues when setting up, then after you finally successfully connect it, it says the wifi signal is weak even if the source wifi is only about 10-15 meters away in the other room. Xiaomi sucks.
I have been trying for more than 1 hour to connect this device to my router and nothing works. I have looked at countless videos like yours followed the instructions and nothing works.
