Is it my imagination or are people playing clown now more often in this Tournament? Although I haven't seen a single Dream Witch yet (WHERE ARE THE DW PLAYERS!?), I'm glad that Clown is getting recognition ^^
Dream Witch is strong, but professional players use flywheel too well against her. Antiquarian is popular now, single hit hunters scare her, so does the DW. DW is a very old hunter by now (players have gained tons of experience how to kite her), and because she is good as I said, so many professional hunters train her, so the opposite team is survivor team, they learnt how to counter DW of course. About the joker, I think there are 2 reasons. First, Wolves team has a S badge Joker from China server, and that S badge Joker scared everyone with his god skill, he also inspired other hunter mains to use him more often. Second, Joker counters the survivor's meta. Joker isn't a really strong hunter tbh, but he counters meta. So survivor team has 2 options, they ban Joker and hunter will use strong meta hunter to against sur. Or they don't ban Joker, and Joker will counter survivor's meta. (Hunter's tactic :)) force them to choose only 1)
Flywheel + antiquarian + professor meta = dream witch can't be a round 1 hunter (although XC and Yan both use her R1 a lot, Yue also, DongX less now). During COA DongX went insolence/blink DW a few times instead of traditional trump card/patroller DW ChoAi got a lot of 4k's with clown last season so a lot of people (esp those who used to play clown like Yue) started picking up on it. Xawm also has a clown (probably because the way you'd pressure ciphers is kind of similar to wheel tbh and he's generally recognized as the best wheel in IVL now). Honestly anything that counters antiquarian is good. So if you have solo antiquarian, BQ/DW is okay if you are good at those. Hermit/wax is also good. Clown is also one of the few hunters who is actually not too afraid of flywheel, because it doesn't cost a lot to bait.
hardly any consistency to hiero, i don't much like playing sculptor on chinatown (giant runways for severe crush resistance + nobility dodging with 2-floors and the buildings = often los blocked and will hardly ever put down an accurate hiero - on top of it already being one of the wonkiest and least useful presence unlocks (now that i've played a ton of clerk i know what it's like to do actual devastating cipher pressure *and* attack them remotely - instant and perfectly targeted to boot)).. max presence sculptor on first down to be similar strength to 0 presence g26 augh surely she can't stay like this given how much she's brought out in comp and the painful results the vast majority of the time
@@Duckl3r it's something you 'drag aim' like a bq mirror, though it has no range limit your aim indicator is completely blocked the moment it goes out of line of sight, i guess similar to umbrella but it's a lot easier to estimate the range of something that's moving at a static pace
@@Duckl3r and then lose because while a gate is pretty much the only safe long range hiero placement given it's attached to the edge of the map, if someone gets chipped the 3-4 times needed to down them when hiero goes up on a gate they're throwing and good luck getting anywhere on lakeside on sculptor on a sidenote, *very* difficult map to get chips on
