- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 6 ก.พ. 2025
- We took our first train in Egypt overnight from Cairo to Luxor! It was a great experience, and we give a full tour of our private cabin. This is as close to "first class" as it gets here ;) We arrived in Luxor at 5 a.m. and checked into our hotel for our one full day in Luxor!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this TH-cam channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before Nate turns 30 (which is March 20, 2019)! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every
day. :)
After traveling the world they’re used to any type of bathrooms. I love that they adjust to whatever is thrown at them. They are respectful of all cultures. I love watching Kara and Nate. Welcome back!
Andrea Rosete you really have too when traveling! So many people can’t travel well because they can’t adapt and want things exactly like they are back in the US

Hey guys (or anyone else reading this), just so you know, they essentially try to force tourists to take the night train for about $100, however there is also a day train that leaves in the morning and arrives in Luxor at about 7pm which is a much more reasonable time, and only costs about $10-12 for first class seats. Book online ahead of time or ask your hotel to book the tickets for you as they pretty much refuse to sell day train tickets to tourists. So you can save a ton of money, arrive in the evening and check into your hotel right away and enjoy the train views during the day light.
Stuff wow i never knew that thx
A video of the day train is what I was looking for. If I'm going to be traveling by train, I want to be able to see the world as it passes by.
@ronkwfl omg SAME. I have the exact same view on trains. Why I normally would prefer to travel places via a road trip so that you can stop whenever you want, but if I ever traveled anywhere by train I would Only want to do day trains. The only exception to that would probably be if I Ever have the opportunity to do the Trans-Siberian, and that's only because it's like a once-in-a-lifetime kinda experience and the entire route is So long.
Overnight trains save you a hotel stay though.
@ReticulatingSplines While that Is true, most people probably don't travel to other countries specifically for the hotels (unless it's something special and specific to that place). You travel to other countries to Experience that country. Spending half the time you're in a place you spent so much time and money and effort getting to just to spend half that time traveling in the dark or asleep just makes No sense to me. I would Much rather do the day train or road trip option and then stay in less expensive accommodations every night. But that's just me :))
The scene where you were running for your train felt like a scene from The Amazing Race! Especially with the tense background music. Love it
Suzi Clark ha yeah. Kara and Nate should apply for the race!!
@@remphish1 omgg they shoulddd
🤣🤣🤣🤣
the way they look at each other when they talk is something i want in life
The uniqueness of Kara And Nate among other travel vloggers is that we will get a positive vibe after seeing their videos and we will feel like visiting that place. They always focusses on the positive aspects of a place but they also say the relevant negative things too and will always ultimately find positivity in those negative aspects which we sometimes have nt even thought about. If it was someone else other than Kara they would have been complaining about the bumpy train ride here. But look what Kara did... she mentioned that through a positive way saying that it will rock her to sleep. This is how a person should give unbiased true review and still make people happy and filled with positivity after watching the review. There will be no surprise at all if you guys win the Shorty awards for the best in Travel next year too like this year :)
you are such a noob

That's why I watch this channel and stopped watching "The Endless Adventure"
I really love the spirits of togetherness and a sense of camaraderie especially when handling stressful situations like shown in the video! I'm so impressed with your vlogs! Continue to rock on Kara and Nate! :)
I can't believe you filmed that whole thing. I would be panicked and put the camera down. But you made it.
mhollick63 me too! But it was fun to watch lol
Perhaps they were exaggerating to make it more entertaining?

The boundless, infectious enthusiasm you guys have for travel is not only what keeps you going through the tough part of it but keeps us watching too.
i swear this is the 10th train/cruise video i have binged today and procrastination is getting the best of me
I love how Calm Kara and Nate are, like someone can literally be rude to them and they just give out positive energy I love that😌❤🥰
I love it when you guys just laugh about the things that don't go the way you want..it reminds me to be more grateful and just enjoy the moment when travelling
Kara and Nate has the most humble viewers. The comments are always so nice and kind.
I’m here for it.
I read the train cost only 32$, ( just got back to the states) and the 2 meals were included. ❤❤❤ I traveled with Egypt Tours Plus, it was all so easy and it was my dream come true. Go, go go!
My heart rate went up when they try catch the train. The toilet tour is definitely the highlight in this video.
I've been watching you two almost missing flights for a year or so now, I think this is the closest you've come to missing a train. I've tried sleeping on moving vehicles and rarely managed it, it's no wonder you got very little sleep. The look on Kara's face when she tried to get the "music" was priceless :)
whenever you visit Egypt again I HIGHLY recommend visiting luxor and aswan in cruse ship. its basically a 5 day trip on a cruise that takes you to every temple while enjoying the nile ! it parks at the temple and museums like a car I enjoyed it sooooo much its all inclusive meals and very luxurious with a good price comes with a guide and plan for the trip and thats amazing you dont miss out on anything
u take the cruise in Cairo ?
@@juarezm.6737 no you take the train or plane to luxor or aswan then take the cruise from there, usually the travel agency you booked the cruise from offers the transportation from and to the cruise
This is the video that brought me to Kara and Nate’s channel. I stumbled upon it one day a few years ago and have loved it ever since
Kara has the most genuine smile in the world. So jealous of Nate. He doesn't know how lucky he is.
sayan chatterjee He knows
Kim Adams I know. I love him too. 😁
I think he knows, they started dating when Kara was in 10th grade.
John Ferguson it's just a figure of speech. Of course he knows. What's wrong with you people?
I thought he was Gay and they were just friends.
Did that same train ride a few years ago. I am an archaeologist and needed to get down to Luxor. I booked the same type of cabin as you, but after the train started on its journey, the conductor put a family of three, a husband, wife and six year old boy in my cabin. I said, wait a minute...he pointed to the top bunk and indicated that was where I was to be. I went out in the hall and after $50 US, I was placed in a different cabin by myself. I love that when I flushed the toilet I could see train track ties zipping by. When I got to Luxor, I was not as strong as you guys and paid for a taxi...to the Nefertiti Hotel...top floor. It was being refurbished at the time and I had to climb over workers, bags of plaster and stacks of tiles in the staircase. What an adventure...
You guys need to have your own travel tv show. You two really compliment each other. Have you guys ever thought about having kids and if you ever did, how would you deal with having a kid and traveling?
Sandy S hopefully like The Bucket list Family 🙏🏾
I love how y'all love and embrace the people and their cultures.
I’m Arabian and there was so many people talking Arabic and it was amazing far me hearing my language love you guys from Jordan 🇯🇴🇯🇴🇯🇴🇯🇴🇯🇴🇯🇴🇯🇴🇯🇴🇯🇴
@Pharaoh Not cool at all
You guys have more experience than me but a tip: when I was in South Korea, even though I could speak the language, i was having a hard time communicating where i wanted to go until this sweet Korean lady came and helped me. From the next day on, i made sure to have the address of where i wanted to go in the notes section of my phone, in the language that it needed to be in (ex. Korean, arabic) and I made sure to at least say "I want to go here" in korean. It saves a lot of time and last minute anxiety! I know you guys don't possibly have the time to learn EVERY language of the country you visit but it's just a tip from a subscriber!
Love your vids :)
Kara and Nate are so adorable as a couple...always working as a team...really inspiring.
#positive_vibes😍😍
Keep travelling!! Keep inspiring!!
finally travel vlogger who isnt super fake and loud and much more chill
Here during quarantine watching all your videos as a premium member and I always try to hit the like button 😉🌻
Normally climaxes are nail biting but the vlog starts with a nail biting event with a run to catch the train. Loved it...
These videos are addictive. Kara and Nate are wonderful in the way theiy take the viewer along.
Its amazing the difference between morning kara and afternoon cara in the morning she is soooo sleepy and in the afternoon she it so energetic.
The editing beats and slow mo moments were pretty cool. Kara you're a real pro.
I did this trek back in '88 when I was 22 yrs old. So many memories. Train hasn't changed a bit!
Dying watching the bathroom tour! 😂😂 Kara, you’re hilarious! The Italian trains had a foot pedal for the sink water in the bathroom too!

I now understand why you put "First Class" in quotes. That toilet seat sure was... umm... interesting. 😊
By the way... I would totally run for the train too if it meant one last serving of pasta! 😋😋🍝🍝
First class in Egypt doesn't mean it's for rich people only

Welcome to Egypt. I wish you enjoy in great Egypt😍😍
I LOVE how you aren’t afraid to show how tiring the process of traveling can be. I am a travel fanatic, but I’m not a fan of getting to and from a destination.
You will be great to know that there was an article in the newspaper in India ( the name of the newspaper is : TOI - Times Of India..
They wrote about your journey over 15 months and how you manage to visit 100 countries without a job for 15 Months
Well they kinda do have a job they are youtubers and earn money from there which helps And I think the also have a travel company not to sure tho.
They have jobs, I don't think anybody would be able to afford that kind of travel without a job. (excluding billionares, etc.) Kara and Nate get money from being youtubers, and they created a travel website to earn money as well
I'm so exited to see your Egypt videos, lived there for two years, married to an Egyptian. Most wonderful man in the world will be 7 years Oct 16 Th. Woooooo Hoooooo yeah! TY, Kara and Nate.
I’m from Egypt and honestly I’m really surprised you could film the whole time. Whenever I go there I always feel like they are just starring at me🤣 London and Egypt are realllllyyyy different but honestly Egyptians are realllyyyy sweet and loud 😂
I rode that same overnight train some twenty-plus years ago -- it doesn't look like anything has changed! What fun to see it again!
Sometimes your vlog evokes such vivid memories. I have come SO close to missing that train😱 but then...It turned out that the train left from the ‘other’ station in Cairo (who knew) when we arrived at station #1with seconds to spare. Magdi the driver dragged us across town on the subway at high speed. When we got to station #2, the train was an hour late, so we had half an hour to wait on the platform 😂
Your train videos are by far my favorites videos you guys post! It’s actually how I initially got connected to your channel months ago.
I’ve missed out on so much of the world. Because I have a phobia of unclean bathrooms.
Denise Smith me too
Use the nature.
I have a phobia of boats
I am terrified to fly. I would love to do this, but I would have to fly to get there
Definitely do not take a train Morocco then, you'll be disgusted.
I just had to comment - I've been binge-watching y'alls videos tonight, and WOW did this give me feels. I studied abroad in Egypt in 2010 while in college, and while it had its ups & downs, I didn't really acknowledge how much I'd like to go back until I saw your footage of the countryside passing by the train. I also think I stayed in the EXACT hotel where you guys stayed in Luxor! Thank you for giving me a little piece of nostalgia and reminding me that there were some amazing experiences that I had in Egypt :-)
You are the best couple I never ever seen before ..lots of love and respect from India..
I love how you guys always choose trains over planes, I'd do the same. Trains are just so much fun, and that too, you guys always choose the best trains. Mostly first class carriages.
You guys are so awesome. I thought you were at the top of your game before you went to Italy. You are now even better with the filming and editing, sound and presenting. And I'm still up for adoption if you need a curmudgeonly Mad Uncle
I usually don't Like watching these kinds of channels, but I enjoy watching you guys!
I low key liked the rush about to miss the train, it was exciting and the music that panicky music love it guys keep it up😂!
LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!!! I have rewatched most of your travel videos. if you are ever in brisbane again. would love to meet you.
Man I cant wait to visit Eygpt!!!! Awesome vlog!
The best thing about you 2 is ur smile it always brightens up my day 🙂
I REALLY love this types of videos since I found your channel yesterday! ❤️🤪
I don’t know you personally, but I can tell you both are amazing people.
Ooh ya'll I am having flashbacks watching this. I went to Egypt last fall and we took an overnight train to Aswan. It was the projects on wheels! The train rocked and lurched all night long, we stopped out in the middle of nowhere for hours, the bathroom was disgusting because there was no water to flush the excrement down to the tracks, it wreaked of pee and they ran out of soap and toilet paper, the vanity door in our cabin wouldn't stay closed so it hit the wall all night, I slept on the top bunk and the mechanism that allows the bed to fold up squeaked all night, and they served bread on bread on bread. Worst night's sleep I ever had...but it was worth it to get off that train and see all of the beautiful Nubian people in Aswan. Oh the wonders of travel. lol
Kara and Nate really produce excellent videos. The editing has become top notch. There is so much garbage on TH-cam that it is so refreshing to see a well produced vlog. Like architecture, it should flow seamlessly. The viewer shouldn't even be thinking about quality. It is supposed to be silently smooth. Cut corners and poor workmanship is what screams out at viewers, but not in your vids. They're beautifully perfect.
I love that you do the bathroom tours, Kara! So helpful!! One of my main questions/concerns about other countries is always the bathroom situation.
Just found you guys from the Zero to Travel podcast and we are officially new subscribers. Cheering you on to your goal of 100 countries!
Thanks guys! 💜
Kara is an expert when it comes to giving bathroom tours and reviews!
That train B-roll is some of your most cinematic editing yet!
Wow that’s so cool how their traveling the world. Usually people say their going to but this is actually doing it.

I took this same train from Cairo to Luxor as well. I loved it. I am glad you also liked it.
I truly love you guys. Your attitude about the pitfalls of travel is awe inspiring because I'm not sure I would or could react so positively. Keep smiling guys! And I will forever support your dreams! *in my Jack Nicholson voice* You make me want to be a better traveler! 😂

Omg the bathroom review was hilarious! Very informative.
Whenever I’m sad I come and watch a few of your videos and it makes me so happy!
Can I ask you guys a personal question? Why do you guys always wait until the last possible second to board a plane or get to a train station etc? Seems to me it is would be way less stressful to arrive “on time” like the 30 minutes before like they state.
Jessica Jone probably because they are spending so little time in each place so they want to soak it all up.
Mommy Marine nah, drama films better.
i Loooove Kara & Nate but I have to agree with Jessica on this one...
Q MAN ya, I had to unsubscribe. 😬
What you're saying makes sense but it's not always possible when you're traveling into the unknown. I'm an "on time" person as well. But I'm way better at it when I control for things I know I'm going to face.
