      Hey Yes I did just sell my solid 89 Blazer. Now since I’ve sold it I have been seeing truck shows with them restoring the box Blazers. I’m having seller remorse.

      Hello I never really did a check but probably around 8 - 15 miles a gallon depending how I was driving it that day. I had a 7-1/2 Meyer plow on it I only used for my drive way. I did end up selling it. Got sellers remorse now.

    My #1 reason was definitely the large engine bay. I have an 86 with a 406 small block, th350 3 speed transmission and np203 transfercase. I hope mine looks as amazing as yours one day!

      Yeah that large engine bay is awesome. You can drop bigger engines in it without really having to buy a cowl hood.

    If I ever hit the lottery I'm buyin' a '73-'79 K5. My dad had a '76 when I was a kid, and I've never seen anything like it. Pity nowadays a K5 in really good shape is around $50K

      Yeah that's cool my Dad had a 1984 K5 when I was growing up. These trucks do hold their value well they are the jack of all trades. These new trucks ain't have the trucks these things are.

    I daily drive a 1994 f-150 4x4 reg cab short bed 109k miles 5.0 5 speed. it has a bigger cam trick flow heads and intake. it puts out 350rwhp and I get 19mpg with it. I love old trucks they are dying off but I still see them on the road as work trucks.

    you should look into getting a grant small steering wheel. I like mine on my k5. It makes driving with your pinky easy and it makes getting in and out of the driver seat much easier.

    What state do you live in lowride?
    I just my 84 blazer 4x4 going again. Love my blazer, lots of work to be done though. Looking to rebuild transmission, engine and make it fuel injection. There is nothing like an older model blazer or truck. The body and craftsmanship of older Chevy's are priceless.

    Don’t make them like they used to. These were great trucks and this one is a dandy! I had a 1975 K5 in college. It’s on my list of vehicles I wish I hadn’t sold! Today is a bunch of tech crap we don’t need, emission equipment and plastic everything. Sad. Thanks for this great video.

      Yes and I tell you what I was really disappointed with the new Blazer. The new Blazer is good for maybe taking the kids to a soccer game or a trip to the grocery store that's about it. Off road mudding with the new Blazer not likely.

    This day in age after cash for clunkers. You are lucky AF to own a K-5, Ram Charger or Bronco. I have two Ram Chargers and call them my unicorns. In 5 years here in Tucson I have seen 2 on the street.
    I would love to build a 383 stroker for a K-5.

      Yes I remember when that cash for clunkers was going on the junkyards were packed with 70's and 80's vehicles. Those years picking in junkyards was a gear heads dream. I was at the junkyards every week.

      Be sweet to have a 74 Ford Box Bronco with a Cleaveland 4 barrel, 75 K-5 with a 383 and a Ram Charger with a Cummins, Hemi or Stroker 360 Magnum.

    Hey buddy I got a question about body parts. I went through LMC's entire catalog and it seems they have every window and trim part, but for the life of me I can't find that rear vent window or what it is even called. If I google vent window, I get the front ones. The window frame has the hardware on the top and bottom but I bought it with no glass or glass hardware and yes I want to restore it to it's original awesomenesss any ideas??? Thanks 1990 Blazer Silverado 5.7

      The whole window piece is called a K5 Blazer rear sliding window and the small window at the head of the sliding window is called a wing that looks like a vent window.

      If you live in a southern area truck frame should be good. If not they are famous for rusting out especially the floor boards. Other than that they are very reliable trucks.

      Santiago Giménez Utiel it really depends on the state... anything from 1981-1989 is essentially the same truck, just variations in the grill... fully restored can go for 10000- 30000 but one that needs a bit of work is about 5000 where i am...craigslist and Facebook marketplace are great sites to look, but it takes time to find the perfect truck, just remember that. Good luck in your truck adventure

      Honestly I hate it. To me it looks like a common neutered SUV. No ruggedness look to it at all something you can drive the kids to School in, take the kids to a soccer game or a trip to the Grocery store. Its disappointing

    If there’s no chrome trim on your 80’s truck...then it’s not a true 80’s truck. The chrome looks better to me on these. Looks more rougher an classic.

      I always do but when I'm at the ATM or pulling up to a fast food window I have to unfasten my seatbelt to get my wallet out. Newer car would beep when it's unnecessary.

      There were only two things I didn't like about the Dodges the skinny gas pedal and top curved glass on rear cab. Other than that those old ram chargers were cool.
