Many thanks for your work and your channel. While I am an old hand at film having my first camera back in the mid 1960s, the field is so much more interesting and creative than it was back then. The only source of information was the monthly photo magazine and even that was hit or miss. Now, with channels like yours, I get inspiration and information that makes my return to film really satisfying. Thank you again!
I don't comment often but I've watched almost all of your videos Roger. I've learnt so much from your darkroom sessions when I started film photography in 2021. Thank you !
Hope you and your family have a great Christmas, Roger. Thanks for another year of top quality film photography videos. Here's to seeing many more in 2024.
Merry Christmas & happy new year! I use my grandfather's Kodak 3a Autographic that he purchased in 1918 as my film alternative. Gave it a CLA, and using spool adapters and a custom film mask I can shoot it with 120. Images are outstanding but only 4 per roll!
You did well to take the photos and get the video out on the same day Roger!! I have been watching all your videos for quite a few years now, so thankyou very much. Happy Christmas to you and your family.
One of my favourites is using large paper negatives in home made lensed cameras or pinhole cameras. A whole sheet of 8x10 paper or a half sheet for 4x10 panos make huge negatives for contact printing. It’s not quite film but is still an emulsion, so I think it counts :-) Merry Christmas Roger.
@@ShootFilmLikeaBoss lovely! Maybe try it again sometime? I’d love to see what you do with paper. I thought I’ve watched every video (been a subscriber for a loooong time) but don’t remember seeing you do it before so will go search the archive :-)
This is a rare channel of quality and honesty. Expeditions out to take images with good examples presented, as opposed to sit and chat about gear by fools who never seem to make a decent image. Thanks, man.
I’ve always enjoyed watching your channel Roger and your relaxed and jovial approach to film photography is the thing that has encouraged me to keep going with it. This Christmas I’m going to try making and using D23, which I know is one of your go to developers and it was your videos on the subject that inspired me to give it a go. Have a fantastic Christmas and enjoy the festivities. Here’s to lots more film photography in 2024!
Thanks for taking the time to put out another video at this busy time. But probably a good chance to get out of the Christmas shopping rush. Merry Christmas to you and family and friends.
I always enjoy your videos, it is small little windows into a fun world of taking pictures, taking it easy and have a good time! There is always something that is interesting or fun, and both kinds is highly appreciated from here. Thank you for making these videos. Happy holidays and a happy New Year.
Merry Christmas to you and your family, Roger. There are a few channels where I always look forward to new videos coming out and your's is at the top of the list... Looking forward to more in the new year.
I'm a returner to film and photography after not shooting since I did photography as part of art and design at college, many, many years ago. Discovered your channel in January this year and it has provided lots and lots on inspiration and advice, and been the cause of quite a few 2nd hand camera purchases! Keep up the good work Roger, and a Happy New Year to you.
Roger, I know you like using filters for B&W photography. Have you ever added a filter ring to a Holga? It's really simple. Just line up a 46-52mm step-up ring with the front of the lens and use some force to cut your own threads in the plastic. Voilá. Then you can use your 52mm Nikon filters and/or even a vented lens hood to block flair. I've found it really handy.
Merry Christmas Roger To You & Yours... As always great content... Many Thanks For Entertaining & Informing us throughout 2023 & I look forward to seeing your Vlogs in 2024.. I hope the New Year brings peace, health & happiness. All The Best David
The Holgon sounds an interesting concept. It give you the option of shooting on a bright sunny day or a typical dreich one as we seem to have had all autumn and winter. Getting out of Christmas shopping ... right choice. Merry Grinchmas and a Happy Hogmanay 🎄
For me, the most alternative camera stuff I have is hand made lenses. They're all a bit rubbish but they do produce very unique textures. Either that or Xprocessing... and half frame when I'm a bit short on change 😁
Great channel Roger , I like youre approach and attitude to photography, I ave have the same view as you, I used to shoot weddings on film in 70's through to the 90's, but now just for sheer enjoyment and pleasure. I also really enjoy my BW dark room sessions. Keep up the good work.
Thanks the videos all year. I'll be watching next year too. Currently my alternative is those cheap vintage £10 cameras just for fun. 1950's Regulas and Baldas. Happy Christmas.
Always a treat to watch your videos.. very inspiring and interesting. Due to space, I jumped to digital many years ago from my RB67 Pro S. But, I really do miss it. Have a very Merry Christmas, and a prosperous New Year! Best wishes. David.
Trust me Rog, with me every session is an alternative film photography. Wouldnt mind the odd pint of decent beer though, every once in a while. Have a great Christmas and new year. Take care.
G'day Roger, Good call on the food shopping Vs shooting the shit out of some film 🙂 I have a Holga that has been kicking around that I scored with some darkroom equipment I saved, think it might be due a clean up and an outing. great video as always .
Love your channel. for Christmas this year I got an original Kodak pocket No.1 from 1926, gonna play around with it as it takes 120 film. Merry Christmas!
merry Christmas there roger been watching your videos for over a year now really enjoy them like to use my zero image 6x6 pin hole camera i just find it fun to use.
Lovely shots here but a lot of work for Christmas Eve. Mind you better than shopping 😂 Have a great Christmas to and your's Roger and all the best for the year ahead 🎅📷👍
Thanks to you Roger for making these videos and inspiring us. Because if you, I bought an enlarger and converted my shed to a darkroom and am avoiding telling my wife the price of paper😂. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Merry Christmas, I’ll have to look up that pinhole camera, never heard of it 😮 I’m always looking for different formats and f/ratings 😊 Cant wait to see a review on it
I never thought much of pinhole until someone kept telling me how much fun they are so I got one and ended up loving the "unusual and sometimes interesting" look.
My Christmas regrets are not stopping to take some shots in good light on the Snake Pass on my way to Manchester. Came back through Peak District today and awful light 🙄 Happy Christmas man 👍📸
The pictures turned out very nice I haven't taken any film photos for a while... i miss the time when you could get a roll of 35mm film for under two euros
@@ShootFilmLikeaBoss We shouldn't buy any more films until the prices are reasonable again (but unfortunately that would only work if everyone participates)
At least they're AA batteries so easy to find in the shops and you can get rechargeable ones. It's the small fat batteries that you have to buy online that's annoying

I am still shooting film. I have some old books on photography and I can say a lot was lost unfortunately.
Thanks Maggie. Kind.

Thanks mate. Mine gets a bit cloudy after a day stored for some reason but it still delivers. Just so you know.
Thanks for taking the time to put out another video at this busy time. But probably a good chance to get out of the Christmas shopping rush.

I mostly do 110 on film, love the small cameras :). I also have a holga, excited to put 35mm in it to get exposed sprockets 😊.

@@ShootFilmLikeaBoss We shouldn't buy any more films until the prices are reasonable again (but unfortunately that would only work if everyone participates)
Hopefully no one runs out of battery mid roll on that Holgon 😅
Looks like a fun camera to use though.

taking sharp photos at this time of year...
call it crisp-mas xD
Boom! lol
Roger I have to say, it feels like a terrible waste of that glorious APX100 lol. Lovely film again. Happy new year buddy
Cheers. It's never a waste when you're shooting film. Only if you fix the film first lol
These looks pretty awesome, were they developed in pyro?
D23
Merry Xmas bro
My guilty pleasure would be instant films! Less expectations and less effort for me
Nothing wrong with that! :)
A great excuse not to go shopping 😂
