We are in our 1st week of homeschooling using Abeka 9th grade. The details with Abeka has been soooo helpful as a new homeschool mom. Your page has helped me alot to mentally prepare for what's to come as well. Thank you! And happy posting.
We start in 2 weeks. I’ve learned since we just started homeschooling mid year at the beginning of this year and we planned on going thru the summer that year round didn’t work right now. My 13yr old daughters twin brother is still in public school and when he’s out she doesn’t want to do school. She would rather play video games online and with her friends from school. So when he’s in school we are going to do school. But she says she wants to complete 7th & 8th grade this year so she can be caught up with her brother. I have no idea if we can do this so I told her it’s all up to her. If she’s motivated and is working really hard and doing well then I’m all for it. But if she’s not retaining the material and mastering it then we will have to slow down. So we will see how this goes.
Hey, we just finished our 6th week. We are doing 6 weeks on, 2 weeks off. 1 for a break and 1 for a mini unit study. It has been so nice so far. We love Apologia as well. We are using the Astronomy and the General Science. ☺️
First official year, I'm on Day 4. I have to thank you because of your podcast I'm doing my father's world and ABEKA! I didn't pick up the science from apologia but I might purchase it soon. Thank you again.
We Sabbath schedule too. 6 weeks on, 1 week off. Been doing that for years and years, our favorite schedule for sure. Great video
We are on week 11. We also follow the sabbath schedule and will break after next week! I also like to recharge during that time and plan ahead for the next 6 weeks. It works so well for us!
Hi Mandy, I’m a newbie this year, although I did try two years ago. It didn’t work for me at that time. But after one year of public school that was cut short in March, I decided to try homeschooling again. There’s been some hiccups, but it’s getting better every week. I love doing the eclectic relaxed way. We sit at the table for the writing but I’m experimenting with different ways for other stuff. I’m glad I found you. I really like your channel! My kids are 6 & 7 and I’m 63 lol! Long story but we are mom and dad to these little boys.

New subscriber and brand new homeschooler as well! Our kids have been going to public school all their lives but we decided to start homeschooling now. We'll be starting next Monday and decided on My Father's World in large part due to your videos. We also chose Teaching Textbooks for math, Sonlight for language arts, and Apologia to supplement for science. The box of books for MFW arrived today and my kids have never been more excited for school. Oh and I haven't seen too many of these around, but I'll be their primary teacher due to how the work schedule is for my wife and I.
That ocean box is so cool! We’re going to be studying some ocean stuff this month so I want to try that out 😀
We will be wrapping up this school “year” in a few weeks. So we will be taking some time off while we transition from ACE to MFW ECC. We are all so excited to start MFW! Love your videos!

I am also doing 6 weeks on and 1 weeks off. Just started back up after my 1 week off. Im loving it. Recharged

Apologia .... my son wanted more "experiments"...will try the exploring creation and chemistry, have your boys tried that one?
Abeka.....just ordered math for my 2nd grader, wish me luck -- surely didn't feel our current curric was covering enough of the basics 😒 (kinda nervous on that one)
So...yea...in for some changes and additions on our next 6 weeks

We are going on week 6. This is my 19th year of homeschooling. We have 7 children and I'm currently schooling the younger 4. Ages 30, twins 26, 10, 8, 6, 5
I love the idea of 6 on 1 off. I hadn't though of how we would take days off. We are on week 4 now so kinda excites me that in two weeks we can chill for a week! My kids like that idea as well! I
am a new homeschool mom this year and although it hasn't been easy I am loving having my boys home. They are 7 and 9. 1st and 4th grade.
We just started Mexico this week. We did an extra week in US because I got swamped with work. I've already changed my curricula SEVERAL times, and I'm finally at peace. We're doing My Father's World ECC, Math U See, Spelling U See, All About Reading for my youngest, Cursive, and IEW with Fix It. PHEW. Oh. And Spanish. That seems like a lot, but it's working so well for my five kiddos.
We're also roughly doing a six week on one week off, but I'm trying to tailor it to where we are in MFW so that we don't break in the middle of a country.
We are in the middle of week 9. I love seeing your videos.
We're wrapping up week 11 and taking a much needed week off for Sukkot!
We're only in week 2 for this year, but i switched to Abeka this year, and didn't do enough research before ordering. We are a "parent-led" style, and i didn't realize how "out of it" parents are with video-led. So we have to wait on Abeka to get through their process of switching us and getting out my materials. My own fault, of course. I thought the manuals would give more information and we could choose to watch the videos or not. I was wrong! So we will continue to work with what we have until the new plans come..
Hi; We are in our 9th week of school. This aloud me to slowly bring in subjects. Math/grammar in Aug. then History in September, spelling is coming in October. :) we got momentum and kept it going.
We are a little behind . We had Covid right as school began. We are doing great though.
New to homeschooling. I’ve been watching your videos for the last few weeks. We are in the middle of week 3.
I’m using MFW, ECC, I’ve just been doing the science that is in the teachers manual. Should I be doing more? Or do you just use the Apologia instead of MFW science?

Today we did Day 33 of week 7 Canada from ECC. 😊 Then next week is a week off!
Roughly how long do your sons spend on just My Father's World per day? I know different math and LA will make a difference. I'm really considering using it for my daughter next year, and I'm trying to get a feel for what our days would look like🙂

We've been doing school for several weeks, but have officially finished 6 weeks. We're working this week and then taking next week off. I'm attempting the 6 on/1 off schedule but it doesn't totally work out to that timeframe. But I'm trying to stick as close to it as I can. I find I need the break by the time we've finished 6 weeks or so.
What kind of clay do you buy? Love the animals!

We are finishing week 7 and I don’t like digital planners either, lol.
We are finishing up week 8. 3 of my four seem to be doing very well. Do you have any tips for switching my 4th grader to MFW 2nd grade curriculum with my 2nd grader? He is struggling I think with the style of his program (switched on schoolhouse), and I need to make some changes. I thought about adding more projects and papers to bring the 2nd grade program up to his level, but was hoping you might have some suggestions or ideas for me.
Should I be supplementing science with Apologia when using MFW? Or do you not use the MFW science?
Tiffany Manning it’s not necessary. I just have a kid who really likes apologia science and animals. He wanted to do both.
