    I have a sylvan mirage 8522 with 200hp and performance package. I looked at an l series and honestly couldn’t see what I was “upgrading too” that made it worth the 8k or so premium. So far this year I put 23 hrs on it, and love it. Rides great, performs great, very happy with it. I honestly think they’re very under rated pontoon boats especially for the price. My mirage is loaded up with basically every option, so I don’t consider it an entry level boat. Tritoon, power Bimini, lighting package, 200hp, 60 gallon fuel tank etc. center toon is set back like you state, and it really does make it corner very very well.

    Thanks for another great video. It's spot on. I'm considering Sylvan since they have both Mastercraft (my ski boat) and Sylvan. They also carry Premier, but I believe that's out of my price range. Went to the local Boat show and touch a lot of them. Still not sure which is the best value in the $50K range.

      Stay in the mid-tier with the best dealer in your local area will be a good choice. Best value may be determined by who has the most inventory and most motivated to discount the boat you like

    26ft Sunchaser elite with a 300hp, ok for the 44 mile marker on lake of the Ozarks? I rarely go up past the 30 mile marker???

    Any thought on Starcraft CX 23 DL Bar? How solid is the convertible bar on that boat?

    Just got my 2022 sylvan dlz3 model.
    The quality is very low,
    The lifting strikes are made of two pieces and its not welded together, and one piece is higher and other one is lower .
    Furniture stitches are separating and scratched.
    Tachometer and fuel gage aren't working.
    Yamaha 150 has a nasty vibration, fills like one cylinder doesn't work....
    Its very sad... been saving to by a boat for many years....

    For me the foam in between the joints is a deal breaker. It’s one of those things that sounds great as a sales point but after time what happened when that foam deteriorates? Then you have loose joints! And I’ve never seen foam that doesn’t deteriorate with time especially in the sun! Another great vid!

      @@BoatBuyersSecretWeapon Id be interested to know what you find if you are able to inspect one because all the foams I have seen deteriorate over time and even more so in the sun! Thanks again!!

    Between a Sylvan or South Bay what’s your thoughts on build quality

    • @BoatBuyersSecretWeapon
      @BoatBuyersSecretWeapon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both mid-tier construction quality - new South Bay's have the composite flooring they've been using for 3-4 years now.
      I'd make my decision based on the quality of the dealer relationship

      Do you think the composite deck on a south at will be better than the marine grade plywood on a sylvan

    • @BoatBuyersSecretWeapon
      @BoatBuyersSecretWeapon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@joshraleigh101 marine grade plywood has been proven over decades, so we know it lasts. This composite material (and I have a cut out of it) has been used for 5-6 years, so not 100% sure...I think it'll be just as good but only time will tell

    Great videos! I was wondering if any manufacturers are making pontoon boats with aluminum decks, or something else that would be better than plywood. I'm looking to get one and when I do I can promise that it's going to be like my cars, trucks, equipment, and will around for very long time. I definitely don't want to replace decking...ever!

      @@BoatBuyersSecretWeapon Thanks so much for this reply. It gave me an answer I wasn't thinking about. This is why it's good to talk to a expert before making a decision! Keep up the great work and I'll be looking for that video.
