Fantastic film Jay. I love mid Wales .It is so beautiful and quiet and not busy. Another great thing about your film is listening to you with your lovely Welsh accent and fabulous pronunciation. Thank you so much Jay
Exceptional! I really think this is one of the best videos on mid Wales I have seen. I am certainly going to check out the Elan Valley during the next bank holiday.
Could honestly be my favourite place in the UK. I lived in Aber for 3 years whilst at uni but never had access to a car so didn't really get the chance to explore properly, but even within walking distance from the town there are so many lovely walks through the valley, up constitution hill etc. I'd move back in a heartbeat.
I’m planning a trip to Wales next year and I find your video most useful of all, thanks to the historical tidbits you include. I need to see that dam the bouncing bomb was tested on! Oh, from this American, I love the Stars and Stripes hat!
This seems to be a very charming place, I hope I can visit in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!
Top quality video Jay 🤩 Loads of historic facts there that I never knew about 👍🏼 The accommodation looked stunning and also the new white landy looks👌🏼
Thanks! Super amazing weekend to be fair. Can't wait to get back up there exploring more. Really want to do a dark sky night as well. Just got to get round to coping with a 1am alarm Ha 😴
Definitely one of the best videos on Wales that I have ever seen and actually coming from Wales to Australia over 50 years ago, it was also good to hear someone pronouncing the place names perfectly. Diolch yn fawr !
What a brilliant video! I shall be contacting you with regard to assisting in future videos. Roy Fellows, Cambrian Mines Trust, owners of Cwmystwyth Mines.
Top work as always! I stayed in one of the cottages on the Hafod estate a couple of years ago and loved it. Went to a few of the places you went to too, you’ve got some great shots and it’s good to see it all again!
Thanks Sam very kind. I saw those cottages on the hafod Estate near the Bridge they looked fab as well. Need to explore more of Mid Wales as I've missed out some other greats.
It would be fantastic to see detailed guide of Wye Valley, or Most Interesting Places of South Wales Valleys, or Full Golden Road and other Gems of Preseli Hills, or Most Impressive Welsh Caves... so many welsh tresures to make one choice ;) Love your vloggs! Greetings from 2Poles who live in Swansea!
Great video! Though have to say the submerged forest at Borth could be seen long before 2014. Each storm reveals and takes away some of the forest. Be sure to check the tide if you are visiting, you can only see it at low tide.
That was brilliant. You took me to some familiar spots but presented some new information. Fantastic narration on the Elan Valley - what a place. You could spend a good few years exploring the area. As for Plynlimon I've been up a few times and agree they're fantastic views. My channel is named after the Wye and I've walked every single river of the Wye from source so for you to finish near the source of the Wye on Plynimon was a real treat. Good going. Mark
Thanks Mark! Always great to hear from a fellow explorer. Very kind of you to reach out with your compliment. I absolutely love the Elan Valley and can't wait to explore more of Mid Wales.
@@JayCurtis A real pleasure Jay. Yeah, it's good to connect. I agree a return would be pretty cool. If you like check out some of my videos in Mid Wales and the Cambrians. They're all well titled. Peace!
If you take the Shropshire union canal there is a bridge built exactly like the bridge you show the only difference is when the 2nd bridge was built they included the top of a telegraph pole looks great. 👍
@@JayCurtis@JayCurtis, Sorry for the random question. Have you ever tried canoeing in Wales or been in touch with the canoeing community? By the way, when talking about Cwmystwyth, you might have mentioned Banc Tynddol sun disc.
@ I’ve been canoeing a few times right across Wales and always a great day out. I need to return to Cwmystwyth and do more, I was due to go inside the mines but sadly unforeseen circumstances meant I couldn’t on that day.
Hi Jay. Just discovered your channel and really pleased. I'd love to have a chat with you off line as I plan to move to Wales and not sure where! I love fishing and hiking and scenery. Got any suggestions? Cheers Adam. Ps I'm on Facebook if ok to chat.
Fantastic vid, some places like Pen Pum Lumon Fawr, which I never heard of but looks great, but I have to say you say Welsh place names lovely but not the Elan valley! you say helen (sorta) but it's always E Lan simple as that.
@@JayCurtis today I went to a river witch had to giant rock slopes on each side and had a small waterfall at the end (well I heard one anyway) the place is Called Wolf's leap Abergwesin or ///expose.tens.irritated on what 3 words. I was lucky enough to live there and explored much of the landscape, this was before it became a tourist attraction
@@Penrodyn I’m afraid I was a tourist. It’s lovely we can go and see these places in our own countries though.
@@SamDaviesBuilder but I bet it’s still largely unknown. Did you see the cave that open out to a waterfall?
