I involuntarily started singing On Top of Ol' Smokey and I'm in Los Angeles. If you don't live here then you have no idea how weird that moment was, at least I was alone, however, my dog is in shock!
Not to mention to farm on a mountain full of rocks, you have to stack them somewhere. Usually used to stop erosion from steep ridges. Again all over our property. I’ll try to get a few videos as an example.
Hey there. I’m going to suggest that early pioneer live stock pens . My property 30 acres has 4 pens as large as a football field each. Rock walls appear to be 3ft tall 4 ft wide. But a dozer cut a fire line and the wall is 5-6 ft wide 5 ft tall. It insured preditors stay out and livestock stays in. After our wild fire you can see all the pens. We don’t work the same as civil war survivors!
@@Mountaincrazy not a bad theory I have a few rock walls on my place that were property boundaries from the early 1800s. Beleve the rock structure on fort mounting were sighted farther back in history . But it's hard to tell when they were made. Thanks for checking out the Chanel. 😁
Promise not stalking you 🤣 early settlers would definitely set up near or on an old Native American settlement. Water, or spring. Shielded sides of mountains. Exactly where our relative Samuel Moyers a civil war survivor. After his travels he returned to this mountain top and started a paradise of apple trees and live stock. He never HAD to come down. Artifacts are found on surface usually after a good rain.
@@Mountaincrazy your spot on their . My place is on top of the bluff here in andrew co Mo. I have found several native camp sights on the flats surrounding me including a rock laid spring on my hill side where I found native American pottery shards. Their is even an undisturbed burial mound on the ridge across from me. With in a quarter mile their are settlers graves from before state hood . 😀 lots of history
