Cub Cadet 782D Glow Plug Upgrade.

I changed the glow plugs out with some new ones. NGK Y103V was the part number. I got these at Napa for just over 5 dollars each. The battery that I have found that works best in these tractors is a group U1 with a cranking amp around 420 CA and 350 CCA. This battery is a 430 CA 360 CCA. This still has the stoxk starter. You will see how well the higer crank battery spins over the diesel.

I just picked up a 782D all original 200 hours. Sat for 20 years I’m ordering the starter upgrade and plugs. Hopefully that will help me get it running

Were the original glow plugs also NGK? I was looking to do the glow plug upgrade on mine, but it currently has NGK plugs in it and I can't tell if they are original or not.

I will have to look to see if there is a name on them. A good way to tell if they are original is if they are painted blue. New ones won't be painted.

Also, what's the "MAGNUM" badge on the dash panel? Looks like it's molded into the plastic like it came from the factory that way?

The guy I got the tractor from worked at a CaseIH dealer as a mechanic. He put the magnum emblem on there, he thought it looked cool. I just replaced the dash last night. Put original gauges in and got rid of the oil pressure gauge that was in the middle. Trying to clean it up putting it back to original.
