Hi I'm Carol, and I'm ThatExpatMom! I'm from California but choose to raise my family in beautiful El Salvador. I originally came here for work but I fell in love with a man, his daughter, and his country. I made a giant leap of faith, sold everything and came to El Salvador with 3 suitcases. 11 years & 2 c-sections later here we are...a blended family of 5!

I'm in tears.. My husband is from the US and I'm from El Salvador, he also came with a beautiful package my two babies (boy and girl) that I love the most. I can't have babies of my own but God knew we needed each other and now we have our own precious little family so your story hits home for me. I can't wait to finally bring my husband and kids to visit my Pulgarcito in 2022! I haven't visit ES in a very long time.

Hi Carol...I love your videos!..you have a beautiful family!..you seem to be very happy living there...My husband and I are planning on moving to El Salvador. We visited recently, it was the first time for him and our son and they both loved it. Now we're making plans to move. I was born in El Salvador and moved to the USA when I was a teenager. So now I'm ready for retirement and I hope that it will be a good move for us.

That is an awesome question! We both cook... I cook most of the time but Carlos is a better chef I'm more of a baker (cookies and cakes). Our favorite home cooked meals would have to be Carlos 'Ceviche, and Mariscada and my Spagetti, chili, and macaroni and cheese.
