    probably the best pedal board I've ever seen. I'd love something like this but I don't think I have the mental capacity to set it all up

    Great setup @Zachary_Rizer. I recently added the Boss ES-8 to my setup and it has opened the "flood gates of versatility." I look forward to seeing you setup the trails between patches, because I am having some misfires with mine.
    Regards

      @teknical100 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You program the trails in the next patch you go to, if you choose a different patch without it programmed in they will cut off. Hope this helps.

    I like the soleman midi controller with macro mode to control my pedals,the es8 was more money but I guess it can do parralel/serial modes and can move order of presets

    This inspires me to try a Midi switcher to reorder my sounds!

    How do you allow for the trail of the reverb/delay keep going after switching to a dry/raw distortion sound?

    • @teknical100
      @teknical100 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You program trails in the next patch you intend to go to.

    Could you please tel me what MIDI cables you use to get the H9's so close together :)

  • @aliengtr
    @aliengtr 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    oops ,meant order of pedals, the soleman macro mode allows me to send a shztload of pg and cc commands to 6 pedals via midi

    Wow, that synth lead type sound at around 11:58 sounds really cool. How did you get that?

  • @ricardoaxelgarciadiaz6149
    @ricardoaxelgarciadiaz6149 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    did you notice some latency when changing between presets on the h9?

  • @aliengtr
    @aliengtr 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    you should add a line 6 m5 to get some filter sounds.....cheap but sounds great

    Is it possible to have different loops "parallel" on the ES-8? Let' say I have a dirty loop and a sub loop and I want to be able to mix them, but I also want both of them to get clear signal from my instrument.

  • @adamkrauss303
    @adamkrauss303 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great concise demo and love your secondary use of the mute button! Question as I just bought a pristine used ES-8 and am putting together my new board with more pedals than the 8 loops. You have several pedals like the Mobius and I believe the H9’s hooked up to both an individual loop and the MIDI. I understood from someone else’s vid that you can save loops and just hook those up to the MIDI. Is that correct and if so, why use one of the precious 8 loops? Thanks.

    • @ZacharyRizer
      @ZacharyRizer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can just send on/off messages via midi, but you have to program all of that. For the Mobius and H9 I didn't want to always program when I wanted them off/on so I put them in loops. I also liked the ability to move them around to different parts of the signal chain.

    Can the ES-8 mix in your dry signal along with the wet signal from the engaged effects?

    I have about 11 pedals but the Looper only has 8 channels. To connect all my pedals into the Looper, would I have to connect 3 pedals together to have it in one loop on the ES8? How does that work essentially and would the Looper register all 3 pedals in Looper 1?

    • @facedowngaming
      @facedowngaming 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Zachary Rizer thanks so much for getting back to me. On another note, would you say this unit would be superior than pedal px-8 from voodoo lab?

    Do you use any actually?

    Hi Zach, you have a sick ass rig dude! I recently bought a Boss ES-8 and I'm having some trouble with it... I'm not getting any output when engaging loop #1, 5, and 7. All other loops are working fine. I checked my cables and all work fine, Im really stuck and not sure what to do?!?! I also got a gigrig humdinger, which I set up in the volume loop, to help with phase and hum and Im not sure if I ran those cables correctly because when I run both my amps only one amp is working, my wet amp, 2nd amp. I'd really appreciate your help with this if you can in any way. Thanks in advance brother!

    Out of curiosity for the bigsky do you use a midi for it if you do how do you make not sound like it's a delay since my master clock on the es-8 makes it sound more like a delay than a reverb

    Hi Zackary, I see that you use a midi through box. Can you explain why you use one and what it's benefits are?

  • @甯子達

    and do you think that the aftershock can really replace lots of other famous drive pedals and become sort of a convenient way out of it? coz i have so many drive/fuzz pedals and it's really pain in the ass when it comes to pedalboard room design... thx Zach!

    Ive been considering the ES 8 - how difficult are the midi presets to program.I have a joyo PXL-live, the loops are fine but the midi programming is terribly difficult.

    Hey Zach,love the overview of the es-8 and pedalboard.
    Do you connect the Reflex to the midi expression of the ES-8 or to each pedal you want to control seperately?

    hi Zach~fantastic job! have you ever considered using gig rig g2 system instead of boss es-8? if so why did you end up choosing es-8? really looking forward to hear your opinion since I'm about to start my pedal board building. once again very inspiring video!! thank you !!

    Love your vids Zachary!.. I’ve just ordered an es 8 so have been familiarising myself with it before it arrives. Just wondering about how you connect it to your amp. I’m assuming you don’t use the effects loop as your using the volume loop for the manta and octave pedal. So do you just plug the board into the font of your amp with no effects loop. Thanks.

    • @garethcooper3002
      @garethcooper3002 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Zackary, does the ES-8 allow you to move the volume loop around the chain or do you have the volume loop in a specific part of your chain? It's an impressive machine and you make it look very simple!

    Hi Zachary, i am bass player and i have 22 pedals in my collection, always watching your reviews to compares the sounding of each one, and i like to know your opinion about Spectre Fanger by Chasse Bliss, do you use this pedal ? i know that is such great pedal for a guitar gear, but i can´t find any review on youtube for bass players.

    This is just the sort of overkill on top of overkill that brought on the end of gated-reverb and chorus-on-everything by the late 80s that drove everyone and their mother back to flannel and 'unplugged' sets...it's a bloody *Bass* kids.... beyond a DI and some EQ what the hell does it ever require (or even make particularly good use of)??
    It's not like people are saying 'whoa that bass-guitar's effect sound was the shizit"... like the one exception *ever* was 'one of these days' and since then ......crickets. Les Claypool had the most outrageous (yet commonly known) bass voice and that was his technique doing it all not any particular fx other than some drive and maybe a env follower once in a while.
    Simple wins every time with bass.
