Even on Earth, there are creatures that exist that might as well be "aliens" for our own intents and purposes. In the deepest depths of the oceans, some *must* and can *only* exist at pressures that would cause us to implode. There are radiotrophic fungi (fungus that survive off of other forms of radiation rather than sunlight) that are growing and thriving in the Chernobyl "tomb" without any sort of sunlight present whatsoever since the reactor was filled in with cement. We have launched tardigrades into the vacuum of space and they survived. In that sense, "aliens" as we might insofar understand them, exist here on Earth. Why shouldn't something similar have the potential to do so on Titan- given that the presence of liquid methane and ethane, along with an atmosphere, and abundant source of radiation (Jupiter), already exist?

Megaprojects, here are some video ideas:
      1. The Psyche Mission. The Psyche mission is a NASA mission that's going to a uniquely metal rich asteroid named Psyche which is believed to be the core of a planet that failed to form.
      2. The Euclid Space Telescope. The ESA launched Euclid to reach the sun earth L2 point to search for the presence of dark matter in the universe.
      3. DAMA LIBRA and LUX ZEPLIN. DAMA LIBRA and LUX ZEPLIN are both dark matter detectors using loads of confusing technology in order to detect dark matter.
Pls consider covering these topics. :).

If humanity cared enough we could easily explore the entire solar system by now. But people's don't care enough it seems.
Also if humanity was devoted enough to figuring out what these "UAP's" are that seemingly defy our understanding of technology then we could also learn the truth, but humans JUST DON'T CARE.
tiktak or whatever is too important to people I guess. People are too concerned with dumb stuff to care about the big questions, and when presented with them they ignore them and come up with excuses.
      No wonder aliens avoid us.

Yup, Flight will be different depending on the planet you are on. While we can do plane flights at altitude on earth. We might need to look back at some of the stuff we tried out in the 50s and 60s for flight on other worlds. Like those soviet and USA ground effect vehicles might be better for some environments. Hover crafts that we kind of just gave up on cause of cost effectiveness might have better use on another planet etc.

But it is indeed cool...as I describe in my AIAA book on Ingenuity and Dragonfly.

  • @jasonshaw3605

What Simon has left out is another possibility. To the general public Mars may seem like the best place for a permanent non-earth settlement. However, to many in the scientific community, Titan is a far better choice for a permanent settlement.
Cold, distance from Earth, and less gravitate are huge negatives, but not needing a pressurized spacesuit or worrying as much about radiation from the sun are even larger positives. On Mars living underground is a certainty, on Titan, this wouldn't be necessary. NASA is interested in Titan because after Earth, long-term, it is the next most habitable body in our solar system.
