When theirs traditions that are as put together with the utmost care and thought as long as 4 Scots The Highlanders are playing my favourite pipe tune that they’ve played is Bloody Fields of Flanders. The saddest part of this is the regiments that had traditionally Lanarkshire as a recruiting ground are now gone. Started with the Cameronians and finished with the Royal Scots Borderers. People might knock the RRS, but the reality is they are only another temporary blip on the road to a Corps of Infantry.
Brilliant, I have always liked the Jock units, some years ago we were defending the Craigavon bridge, we had been having a bad time, we were relieved at midnight by the Argyls, they came up among us singing the 'Flower of Scotland' it did our hearts good to see and to hear them.
Check out his feet. He's in step but the Ranks carry their rifle on the other side. He carries his sword in his right hand. Ergo, swinging the opposite arm.
“The Few” refers to the fighter pilots of the Battle of Britain squadrons, RAF mostly but also Fleet Air Arm, Commonwealth and Empire, Poles, Czechs and Free French.
Hi, good parade, its a shame that this is all that is left to represent all the glorious regiments that have been lost to the amalgamation. Now, since when has the command been given to “Stand easy” when the units left and right of the colours are Escort to the Colours? The outer markers use to turn outwards in order that there was a 360 degree watch maintained when guarding the colours! When did this change? Cheers mate. Harera
@@veterans-tv Hi, never ask a pony soldier about internal tactics of British Square. I just remembered standing as a Right Marker on Escort to the Colours on a parade in Aldershot 60 years ago waiting for Princess Margaret. Over two hour wait! No standing at ease, never forgotten, never forgiven! Cheers mate. Harera
@@pierevojzola9737 Yes, I remember Princess Margaret standing about for hours on parade at Cranwell for her Andover to arrive. She alighted, walked straight past the parade, up the steps into the bar. Did my time, hated the entire charade of the UK/Royals ever since.
No. This is the Royal Regiment of Scotland. All Scottish Regiments were consolidated into one some years ago. Although they try to keep their individual identity they are known simply as ' The Royal Regiment of Scotland '.
Outstanding, watching these soldiers march to the sounds of pipes & drums is very moving. It makes me proud to be a Scot.
Very nice Uniforrm! COOL! Of coruse, also soldiers!!Thanks so much!Let’s make peaceful world together!

Search brave man, only Scotland has this. No other countries day, take pride in what they do.🏴💯👍
South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Canada all have Highland regiments.
@@HandGrenadeDivision A few others also have Pipes & Drums.
It’s good to see several Afro Caribbean men in our armed forces. Fills me with hope for our future.

Amazing well done guys.
If you heard the bagpipes in the distance it was either salvation for the beleaguered or hell for the enemy ( so I am told )
God bless UNITED KINGDON
great marching lads best from a veteran.
I can see why the Bagpipe was outlawed as a Weapon of War. Stirs the Heart of a Free Man.
😮wow impressive.. this stirs my Scotch blood.
I love the uniforms of the scottish soldiers.....
My great-grandparents came from Orkney and migrated to South Australia.

Yes isnt it just typical of "Jocks" to be put in the front line every single time you NIGELS bite off more than you can chew?
No 'e' in Argyll.
@@maconescotland8996 Sorry now corrected!

Thank you gentlemen, it is a pleasure to see the ranks dressed tallest to shortest to tallest. Rarely seen these days.

Love the march. Still trying to figure out why the officer arm swing is not same as the formation for UK UNITS

Seems very quick. Playing and marching must be demanding
Pipers want to get to the bar 😅
I always thought 'The Few' referred to the Air Force? It is so sad to see our decline. Not the lads fault.
“The Few” refers to the fighter pilots of the Battle of Britain squadrons, RAF mostly but also Fleet Air Arm, Commonwealth and Empire, Poles, Czechs and Free French.
@@Scipionic1941 Quite so, it's a shame to see so many regiments disbanded or amalgamated making the Army 'The Few II'... the sequel. Sad.
Well done.

Magnificent but I miss the "tribal" differences between the regiments:the distinctive tartans; the difference in headgear and sporrans....
Better drill than most guards regiments!!
I thought the same thing - these lads were proud and confident. Very impressive
Not hard to better the guards these days sadly.
