- Today we went to see one of what they call most modern malls here in Kolkata. Most people told us to go to Quest Mall, that would be the most modern and also biggest mall in all over Kolkata. So let's check it out.
But unfortunately as my several previous experiences told me: They don't want you to film inside any of the malls on the subcontinent of India. So they did stop me, but not before I could film at least a bit. Let's see about this mall.

The Ulta Rath festival is on the 9th of July. You should try to catch the festivities at the Iscon temple and may be make a video of the charriot being pulled on the streets of Kolkata.
Random fact : The no filming rule (in a lot of public places/historical monuments) started to be enforced in strength after the Mumbai attacks where one of the Pakistani handlers used a walkabout video to train the other attackers on the logistics of the attack - such a shame that we have to live in such barbaric times!

There are bigger malls in Kolkata, City Centre Salt Lake and Rajarhat even South City Mall is bigger.

If you're looking for large malls in India, I don't think you'll find many. Building big malls in city centre creates traffic problems in surrounding roads. I remember doing a study for an NGO when a new mall was being built in Bangalore some years ago..... So I guess big malls have to be a little away from the city. Also, I've not seen people actually shopping in malls, in India. Usually they go for eating & killing time. For shopping, people go to Shopping Complexes where traditional Indian shops are found..... Nice mall and nice video btw.

Sir I also suggest you all to visit South City Mall in Kolkata located in prince anwar shah road... It's also a very big mall like it and I'm sure your three cuties will love it 😊😊😊😊 And you can also try giving a visit to Acropolis mall in Kasba, Ballygunge...
If possible, take a day trip to Mayapur.
It's never written anywhere where not to film or take pictures. Sometimes the security guards themselves make new rules, so that can be a little problematic for the vloggers although several celebs visit this mall so there are paparazzi almost always near the mall.

People can also film with mobile camera. It is not a rule made by poor security guys, they just go by their bosses instructions. As people misuse these Video, security guys just want to Show themselves to avoid it.

Sir it's not the security guards problem ,reason is a few years ago David Headley American tourist came india ,he filmed Taj palace hotel and different public places of Mumbai, after that Mumbai terrorist attack happened. He was sent by a Pakistani terrorist organisation and from then video graphy in India gone little bit difficult thing. Pls don't mind sir it's our bitter past experience.

It is obvious you enjoy travelling a lot. And you enjoy India. I am not that sure re the rest of your family. I have noticed responses suggesting you to meet with them? Perhaps a family with kids in order for some more interaction ? Else a lot of good suggestions for visiting places in Calcutta also enjoyable for your kids.
Quest mall is not biggest mall in kolkata but nice . but south city mall in Dhakuria is bigger. also some mall has in kolkata like City centre 1 & 2 in Saltlake & chinar park area.

If you want to see the true modern Kolkata, please, visit the Newtown and Saltlake area in Kolkata. There is a hanging restaurant also. Newtown is a planned city and one of the smart cities in India.

Quest Mall is where one gets only branded costly product. I am a very impulse buyer. I always avoided this particular mall. :)
I don't like this mall videos either, they are all same boring. I like the raw videos from the streets. In Kolkata you will have lots of raw content which are from the streets.
There is a place called 'Tangra' CHINA TOWN in Kolkata. Chinese came here a long time ago started to live there. A unique mixture Indo-Chinese food you will get there.
There is a small ANGLO INDIAN community in BOW BARRACK area. If you come in Christmas time you will get homemade wine 🍷, lots of pork dishes.
Nahoum bakery, a Jewish bakery which is 120 years old at New Market.
We are not a city that can compete with grand Dubai, London or Tokyo but we have a unique cultural blending which no city has.
I am not trying to carve out the posh places of Kolkata, this is not my goal. I am not trying to sell the place.

Only watched this mall video because of Moonshine, the patient wife and delightful children. Don't like any of these fancy malls, whether in India or abroad. Most of these places are very artificial, intended to trap the visitor into buying very expensive things, and the people at the mall make up their own rules. Much more interesting stories await out there in the small alleyways and noisy streets of old Kolkata.
