What value is the extra capacitor on the original version?
I've measured it, its 100uf
Since i just discovered what Kapton tape is, who needs tweezers to hold things in place...? Kapton tape is like a second set of hands. 👍👍 Great videos BTW. Excellent productions. 👍
Does this also affect the headphone output?
No this just amplifies the speaker. We can make a headphone amp as part of the next design no problem
@@RetroSix that would be great! I use mine with LSDJ and the headphone output is insanely noisy! I could do the prosound mod, but then I'll lose volume to the headphones which I need.
Damn, I just recently got the previous iteration of this mod 😖
This is so much cleaner
Yep, very long time coming before I got around to making all the wire free versions. Been like 18 months since I said I would do these lol
watching from Philippines..
coz of you retro is cool!
Since I put a Q5 OSD IPS in my DMG-01 I noticed that the stock speaker is buzzing, even when I turn the sound silent.
It´s not very loud, but noticable.
Will this mod also get rid of the buzzing?
No but if it's a FunnyPlaying screen they are known to add noise. Better using the generic ones like what we have for the DMG. Also our CleanPower might help
Does this fix the issue of only hearing 1 audio channel from the previous CleanAmps?
CleanAmps have always been stereo input. Used to use the combined speaker stereo mix in, now they use the pre mixed left and rights. Both were stereo
I got this kit for my DMG. If I install the extra capacitor (minute 3:30), I get a short between the two wires and the GameBoy doesn't start. I checked the capacitor and it's fine.

@@RetroSix I figured it out: I had a short under the capacitor. Thank you for the short reply.
@@savavladhow did you find out you had a short? I might have the same issue
Are you planning to do a GBP version?
We have the universal one for Game Boy Pocket that fits all game boys but needs wiring in
@@RetroSix shouldnt be hard to do a GBP one, wire location is the same as GBC
