Yeah just finished working my way through the set, absolutely beautifully presented box set, definitely the wow factor, fans of Shaw brother's and old school kung fu cinema will not be disappointed, the film's have never looked better and the new subs are amazing, loads of special features documentaries and interviews it's quite overwhelming really, but I totally agree the audio community's and lack of them are a disappointment it would have been nice to have a Mike leeder, arne venema or Frank djeng option, also a couple of the film's feel out of place on the set "Mighty Peking man" feels out of place I think " men from the monastery " and "heroes two" would have been a better option , also "chinatown kid" maybe should have gotten a stand alone release and been substituted for another period piece film " blood brothers " or another of the iron triangle films in it's place would have maintained the theme and feel of the set, it would have also been nice to get some lobby card's and a poster, but I'm just nit -picking really, the accompanying book is fantastic loaded with stills and original artwork, I couldn't recommend this release enough, I look forward to volume 2 (that's set to include "invincible shaolin" " magnificent ruffians " "kid with the golden arm" " ten tiger's from kwangtung " and "my young auntie" ) also I had pre ordered on Amazon and had an email at the last minute telling me that they were not gonna be able to get any in stock till March 20th so cancelled and ordered strait from arrow which was shiped the very next day, so not sure if that's still an issue but would recommend ordering strait from arrow had the same problem regarding "armour of god" from Amazon and went to 88, you really don't wanna miss out
Ok so I'm late to the game, you've reviewed both the Shawscope and Shaw Brothers classics, which would you say is the better for content and video quality, I've vol 1 of both in my basket and don't know which to pull the trigger on. Please help
Awesome stuff and thanks for watching. While I adore the Shout Factory releases I would say that the Arrow Shawscope sets are the better buy overall. Enjoy :)
@@invincibleasiaofficial ordered it and also managed to get another 5% off. I'm surprised this was still available, I guess they over priced it when they released it so people didn't want to pay the price tag of £150 or even the reduced price of £110.
@@invincibleasiaofficial so I got this set and started watching it. The only disappointment is the audio. Could they not of done 5.1 or at least stereo.....
Shaw Brothers make legendary epics of all time

Sorry I go on a bit lol
Also straight not strait, damn this predictive text

It's an incredible set yes, and I would def be ordering direct from distributors for speediness :)
I won't stand for any Mighty Peking Man slander. That movie rules, and hopefully sets us up for Super Inframan as the quirky tokusatsu in Vol. 2.
Is arrow video making Shaw Scope Volume 3?
I keep hearing different things. My fingers are still crossed though :)
