Green rain also promoted the growth of your trees, so if you plant, let's say, half a farm of trees, the next day about 90% of those seeds will have turned into a full grown tree. Great for a fast influx of wood without having to buy it.
if you don't care about playing the vanilla game u could also add the "to-dew list" mod to ur game. it's been helping me a lot even in 1.6 where we have text signs
fun fact: the portal that opens in the wizard's basement actually leads to Terraria :) and the Meowmere sword that you get is actually a nod to one of the best from that game! what a cool easter egg!
Things like this make me regret that I'm simply unable to play Terraria. I'd like to, I tried several times, but for some strange reason it's just unpleasant to me. Could be the side view, the weird UI (especially crafting), or the lack of holding my hand so I have no idea wtf I'm supposed to be doing besides exploring, and once I've explored a little, what to do next. Which reminds me. I've played another pixel art top down game as well that has a reference to Terraria. In Core Keeper (which is still in Early Access but is getting full release this year, I think in the summer) you get to fight Slime King. He drops some loot, including a cool looking, large chest. Which is huge, because the large chests dropped from most bosses are really ugly, lol. You can also resummon him, iirc.
Added raisin protip. If you're converting to a ancient fruit farm for the endgame, remember that you only need raisins when the Junimos are working. This means you only need 9-10 raisins per Junimo Hut per year.
Ancient Dolls only sell for 60g (or 180g with the treasure book), but can infinitely be turned into terraria pylons that sell for 500g. Yes you do have to sit thru the 3 second bone dragon spawning animation though, i think it does take in-game time
Here are some tips, for early, mid-game and anytime. Early-game: -Until you get the 2nd backpack upgrade, always keep a chest near your favorite fishing spot (best one is mountain lake, and any river while its raining for catfish), you will run out of storage VERY QUICK! Mid-game: -At the start of any season, always buy at least a couple of every seeds (except flowers), the raccoon may ask for it which would require you to go through the whole process of having to grow it. He can ask for 5 of the best regrowable crop of the current season for the 2nd request, and can be absolutely any crop for the 4th. -If you also need some crab pot fish for the raccoon, put the first one you get of that crab pot fish in a bait maker, then using that bait in a crab pot will double, triple or even quadruple your chances to get that fish. Anytime: -If you ever need a certain forageable, you can go to the bottom of the options and there will be a screenshot menu, the screenshot will show a whole preview of the area you're in, including any forageables (as well as dragon teeth for the island obelisk). -ALWAYS go to the secret woods every day, it will give you 150 foraging xp every single day, and a bunch of hardwood, which you need a LOT of.
About hardwood - don't forget to kill those pesky slimes in the woods - they can drop mahogany seeds! As soon as you have a few of those trees on your farm - you don't have to go out of your way for trip to woods for hardwood. Less XP than stumps, maybe - but more convenient. As for chests: keep chests not jsut at fishing spots - plunk them everywhere! At the start it helps so much with collecting forage and what-nots. I always have a spare chest on me (even after getting both backpacks upgrades) - just drop it if you get too much to carry, dump any extra stuff in it, and pick it all up later! Sure, you need wood for that, but 50 woods per chest is not that much even at the beginning, just a few trees worth.
Another moss tip. If you plant mossy trees in your tree farm and DONT harvest the moss from them they will make wild trees in a 5x5 square (max 8 wild trees) the wild trees around it will grow moss faster, put mushroom logs between the trees leaving a row to walk and put tappers on the trees. This makes an awesome 3 in 1 farm for syrup mushrooms and moss. Ps pine trees with mushroom logs are best for money until you get the mastery magic seeds.
dont forget that u can also use the text signs in front of your crop fields to show how many farmable tiles are there!! this saves me so much time and stress from having to do mental math at the beginning of every season lol
Oh and I want to talk a little about the trinket Magic Quiver. You see the Magic Quiver can be effected by the ring accessories that you wear and the weapons too. If you combine the Napalm with the Iridium Band and equip it then Magic Quiver will have more attack power and makes the Monsters explode when defeated. If your weapon has an enchantment like Crusader and you are holding it while your Magic Quiver is attacking a mummy then it can finish it off too. These are just some examples of how to use the Magic Quiver. I am still trying more things to do with it. But so far I think I'm having the most fun with this trinket. I thought I would share some of my findings. I would love to hear what other players have discovered too.
Honestly, I only open mystery boxes until I get the book to find more mystery boxes, then start banking them to trade for golden ones, then, I only open those until I have all the auto-petters I want and then it's all about the Magic Rock Candy. Yeah, there's some good stuff in them, but nothing you really need besides those.
During the green rain, i also like to use a weapon with a haymaker enchantment so that i can also get hay for the animals while I harvest fiber! Useful if you have lots of animals and run out of hay quickly. Also as an added bonus, weapons don’t destroy small trees
Before the bait maker, I just used the fish ponds. I can pull out one squid and cook his favorite dish and the squids will repopulate the pond as time goes on. Pulls double duty in that I can have fish ponds for midnight carp and flounders too so I can have all of the materials for seafoam pudding fresh on the farm, and get the squid ink in place of roe. Fish ponds are also more useful than the well. Not really a fan of the fish smoker with fish ponds though, they lose any quality they had once they get hucked into the pond.
Still, base smoked lava eel with artisan and angler is a good wallop of cash. Aged lava eel roe on top is a nice flow as well. In my current round I filled 14 fish ponds with lava eel. Those are at stages 5-7 now. Filled up a large shed with jars just this afternoon. Soon I will know just how much that earns me 😊
Cabins are good... But you have to have a second character/player on that farm to actually go to Robin and buy those upgrades. I know it's possible to do even without actually getting somebody else to help you, but I'd rather do sheds for convenience - unless I am going for cabins as decor on the farm (then I might as well just go all out).
One of my favorite new things is the mannequin and their quick change clothes swap feature. I have about six I keep dressed in different outfits in my house so I can swap outfits easily. Lots of fun creating outfits now.
I always always throw lava eel roe onto the preserves jar, in fact, lava eel is the only pond I keep rebuilding in all my saves. Preserved lava eel roe sells for $1,064, not much compared to magma caps but considering it's an item you get passively definitely works best for me. Also, lava eel ponds give spicy eel too from time to time AND you can toast an eel every four days. Honestly, lava eel ponds are a damn good investment.
I discovered the power of fish ponds around year 2, and now have 8 built. Half are for roe production, the other half are for propagating crab pot fish for recipes/quality fertilizer Gotta get those crab cakes for the skull cavern dives
I find using the sign to label sheds is moot (except for cosmetic sheds as opposed to functional ones) since usually you want to have a copy of whatever production item is in the shed sitting out front acting like a timer. Crystalarium, preserves jars, kegs, even crops. Similar but slept on application of this: On one of my farms I keep a single potted pineapple at my main farmhouse to function as a timer for my ancient fruit in the greenhouse and on the island, since the regrow rate is the same. Conveniently, you can overlap this if you are aging gold cheese to iridium in your casks since that also takes a week.
The magma cap thing is also a great way to get money from all the mushrooms (except red mushrooms). Preserve jars will effectively take all of your mushrooms 50g over the iridium sell price, making them a great option for all lower qualities. Compared to the dehydrator preserve jars lose on every crop on a per-day basis UNLESS they are gold quality (or higher) in which case dehydrators only give 25g profit (gold) or lose money (iridium), while preserve jars guarantee a minimum 50g profit (iridium) and an extra 33% compared to to the gold crop sell price. While the dehydrator is better for the mushroom farm caves normal quality shrooms, you can throw some preserve jars wherever other mushrooms spawn for some easy extra money. I did not know you could preserve jar mushrooms before watching this video. This apparently works with any forage-tagged item that gives positive energy/health when you eat it (as of 1.6), though this is not reflected on the wiki unless you go scrolling toward the history section* (which does not mention dandelion**). I recommend using extra preserve jars on winter roots and snow yams during winter. Even using an iridium-quality snow yam will net a 25% sell price increase due to the low initial sell price. I will now be giving this tip to all new players who fail the quality crops bundle in their first year and need winter income (and maybe on new farms I'll start keeping a couple at the mines if I'm too lazy to use them for other things). *This refers to the history section on the preserves jar page, not the version history page where I was unable to find this info among the patch notes. ** This history note does mention that you can age clams and I have not been able to test if this means roe or actual clams. Also, since clams are now considered fish you make be able to smoke clams which is also something I plan to test. Edit: tested 5/4/24 - Aged clam no (so the wiki is referring to roe), smoked clam yes (though I can't imagine this info is all that useful) Disclaimer: I do not edit for the wiki, so if anyone who does wishes to use any of this info, I encourage you to

I would like to add something. So getting the Animal Catalog book is a must. Unfortunately you can't get it until year 2. So have some rain totems ready and use one at the end of year one. If you have unlocked Ginger island use one there too just incase and then Marnie will be at her shop for sure on the first day of year two. Buy it as soon as she opens her shop.
2:31 if you do this in modded SDV, for some reason, it won't make your inventory larger. if you also replace a big chest with a small chest with the big chest already full, half of the items inside will be gone.
I really think you would enjoy my time at sandrock, the sequel to my time at Portia, it’s got a very comfy community feel to it, it focuses more on being kind of a handyman in a desert town, and the community aspect of it is something I really like and feel it does better than stardew valley. Obviously different games, and I love stardew valley as well, but I think more people should give sandrock a try
9/10 on magma caps? that item is really hard to get, not only that it is NOT farmable, you need to go to the volcano or the cave which does NOT resets daily. money making a starfruit, ancient fruit or even pumpkins works way better than those.
Still - somehow I end up with a LOT of them from Volcano runs when I farm shards and dragon teeth. So if before they were only useable for food or to sell as is - now there's more you can do with them and so more profit!
@@nkabanets yeah but still not farmable, how often do you even go to the volcano? giving the benefit of the doubt there is little chance youd end up with 50 by the end of the day (which ONLY gives you 10 dried caps). this is just misleading
@@nkabanets i cant see my past comments i guess the owner of this youtube didnt want to get called out lmao. yes more profit if you only gather STANDARD quality of magma cap. 7.5 x 400 = 3000 G (dehydrator of 5 standard magma caps). HOWEVER by the time you get to ginger island, most of us have level 10 and will choose that skill that makes all forageable an iridium quality. 5 Iridium magma caps x 800 (price) = 4000. Which in this case you WILL be more profitable if you sell them individually instead of turning it into a dried version of the magma caps. so what im saying is, that is NOT worthy of a "tips and trick" video, especially deserving a 9 (and now 9.5 cuz this youtuber decided to be petty) rating lmaoo bfr
@@TC-kw4xu I can still see your original post - as well as a whole convo, so idk what might be an issue on your end. Anyway, you compare iridium quality "raw" shrooms to dehydrator production, while both Leap and ezlilyy point towards using preserve jars. Yes, if you didn't know yet - in 1.6 you CAN pickle any edible mushrooms (and other forage as well). I don't remember exact numbers, but Leap made an in-depth video on dehydrator and when it should be used. And don't forget about Mushrooms floors in Volcano - with Caps enemies which drops caps, but only regular quality (iirc). Those will be worth more no matter how you process them.
You’re looking at it the wrong way - it’s a chill/relaxing/lowfi game, just play at your own pace! I’ve been playing for years, I’m nowhere near 100% completion and that’s not even a goal of mine. There is a ton you can do but there’s really nothing you have to do. Just enjoy the vibes ✌️
8:50 _"...place mushroom logs next to any trees you tap (during green rain)"_ - I might be missing something, but I'm confused - what does that have to do with the green rain? Does tapping the special trees stop them from reverting back to normal or something?
when she was in the mines, she was getting gold from defeating monsters. is that in the new update or is it a mod? i havent played since the first version of 1.6 came out
I'm sorry... PRO Stardew Valley gamers? How does one pro a casual, cozy game? I can't imagine a bunch of players on a stage playing against each other ala Dota or something. Does that really happen??
Words can hold multiple meanings and or have their meanings' stretched to convey something adjacent or closely related. In this case, "Pro" is being used to describe someone who has a lot of play time and is knowledgeable of the game's mechanics which fit into the idea of playing a game exceptionally well that the word "Pro" tends to imply. That being said, the best thing that could be called a "Stardew Pro" are probably speed-runners. They tend tick all the boxes: Play the game for profit and spectacle via live streams. Compete via rankings on a leader board based on time spent playing before completion. Are extremely knowledgeable about the game to complete their objectives efficiently.
Green rain also promoted the growth of your trees, so if you plant, let's say, half a farm of trees, the next day about 90% of those seeds will have turned into a full grown tree. Great for a fast influx of wood without having to buy it.

so what im saying is, that is NOT worthy of a "tips and trick" video, especially deserving a 9 (and now 9.5 cuz this youtuber decided to be petty) rating lmaoo bfr
This game is so overwhelming, I'm never going to complete it without wasting more hours of my life away as it is!
Use challenge bait while fish frenzy and put in the fish smoker it would be easy to catch multiple fish and gain more money
Can you upgrade Cabins without farmhands?
Hah, sorry about the green rain essay😂
It made total sense though! 🌸🐧
You're videos are so helpful! Thank you
You're so welcome! 💜
Frog eggs or something are nice in the game frr
I'm STARVING for 1.6 on Switch 😭😭😭

Penguin! I learned so many new things! Thank you for this video! You're Awesome! 😊😊💜💜😊😊
🐧 It seems no matter how much you pay this game, there's still more to discover. Also, the penguin seems appropriate, as I'm playing it on Linux. 🙂

Junimos love of raisins gotta mean CA is reminding us that we are not junimos 😥
8:50 _"...place mushroom logs next to any trees you tap (during green rain)"_ - I might be missing something, but I'm confused - what does that have to do with the green rain? Does tapping the special trees stop them from reverting back to normal or something?
Fun to get one of my comments in your latest vid. :)
Thanks for your help! 🐧
I wonder if the youtuber mentioned will see this video
We got one already! 💜
Awesomeness ❤️
when she was in the mines, she was getting gold from defeating monsters. is that in the new update or is it a mod? i havent played since the first version of 1.6 came out
It’s one of the trinkets you can get
Thank you for the tips! Can I ask how to edit the shoes to look like that? It's so cute! I like it so bad! ;-;
Keep it up!
Always!
May I ask, how you get that parrot? The one that follows you around or the name of it
There is a trinket you can find called the parrot egg - depending upon the tier (1-4) the parrot makes defeated enemies drop a certain amount off gold
PENGUIN several times.
Cheers.

They tend tick all the boxes:
Play the game for profit and spectacle via live streams.
Compete via rankings on a leader board based on time spent playing before completion.
Are extremely knowledgeable about the game to complete their objectives efficiently.
Ever saw BlaDe videos?
Ultimate pro!
And don't get me started on the rest of the speedrunners...
These are all so helpful! I had no idea about the chest one! Penguin. 🐧
