    Have used this device for quite a few hours and like you, I found it sometimes twitchy with some light impacts ...even hitting a dandelion ...giving false indications. Once you master it's quirks it can be a bit of fun and it is very portable.

    Yes iv bought one second hand fir $80 . It works great . Very sensitive on 3 . Works much better on 1 or 2 . I find it easier than my Xterra 305 . Turn on and go plus it’s small and lightweight fold up design is excellent .

    Nice video, shows it in action and you have good personality. Word to those thinking of buying this, the Go-Find looks so cool but it's a piece of crap. If you want to buy a cheap detector that detects well look at the tesoro compadre, they're like $100 and come with a lifetime warranty - you'll almost NEVER get false signals. If you want something a little nicer look at Teknetics patriot (around $350 or $300 used) or the equinox. ($700-900)

    I have the 40 and would say if I walk over it in the dry then the 40 will tell me it's there. It's water proof up to 10 inches so the coil is fine in shallow water. As said before you need to turn the sensitivity down in the wet and look for solid green lights on the display panel ..... 2 lights or more then dig ! My machine has paid for itself in eighteen months, it is my first detector and has got me hooked on this great outdoor hobby. When I do upgrade to a more expensive detector I can assure you that I will not be trading in my go find as it's a great travel machine for your holidays or vacation as you say in America. Thank you She Detector.

    • @SheDetector
      @SheDetector  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh good! I've been curious what the differences are between the 20, 40 and 60. Well there's a difference, no lights on the 20. :( That's great that it's pulling it's weight for you. :) Oh yes, that's goood thinking. Having it for traveling is perfect! :D

I had a whites m6 next, very good, but I ended up having too much gear to take out and ended up not going and recently sold it. Getting a go find 66 tomorrow so I can take it all the time , grab n go

    I have a tip for the go-find 20. Don't use the discrimination. It makes locating targets really tricky. When I used all metal it became easier. It is a 2-tone machine so you'll have no trouble differentiating. I found a 17th century Swedish silver with it, so it does work. Just be slow and patient.

    • @SheDetector
      @SheDetector  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @SheDetector
      @SheDetector  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea? Hum, you could be right. Maybe the seasons change the mineralization. It's true that during the summer and winter the beaches get sanded in or washed clean because of the changing tides. Higher tides in winter I think it is so maybe winter brings more sand and minerals.

    I found a National Geographic model used slightly, got it for $75 and came with a small digging shovel and a handheld scoop both made from composite sturdy material. Also got the manual and another brochure. So far just tested with various targets I threw and it seems to work well. The coil targets seem to line up with the outer edges of the coil. But it was very cheap... I can’t wait to get it out in the sand or to the park.

    Entry level machine for kids. The 40 is better but you still get what you paid for.
    They all collapse too easily, so its just the design.
    When going near salty water, its recommended to lower sensitivity down to reduce false signals.
    They don't have great depth, generally the size of the coil, so that can help in identifying a target from a ghost signal. (depends on size of target)
    They are a frustrating machine, especially for us that use the best machines available, but I found it challenging when I tried it out, and figured if I expect the kids to find anything with it, then I should be able to.
    After a while, its not too bad, and for its price, I would rather swing it than generic ebay detectors.
    And yes, the timing is slower on these, so a slow swing is important, to reduce false signals.
    Good luck on your next outing.

    • @SheDetector
      @SheDetector  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. :) Yea, I'm not sure what the differences are between the 20, 40 and 60 but like you said, you get what you pay for. Yea, when you go from something like the Excal, the go-find is a bit upsetting. :) Hahaha, I suppose that's one way of looking at it. Yea, that's a good point. Thanks!

      ive watched both your videos on the gofind digging canuck and shedetector and i have to say that i think theres a great injustice given to it by both parties and would blame operator error for even the lightest research of the gofind will tell you to disc iron and turn the sens down a notch theres plenty of good content for all the gofind models and i think there s great starting point for anyone i own the 40 and i can say that the shape of the coil is super sensative is absolutely brilliant for xing a target you would be surprised how slow you can move over your target with a gofind and really hone in on its location

    • @anthonybrau439
      @anthonybrau439 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      in full agreement with you. I have the GoFind 60 to be used as a travel detector and as a spare. It took about 1/2 an hour to get used to the detector. The coil is submersible and after a 1/2 hour I was able to pinpoint the target without the machine's pinpointer. The machine's pinpointer is as good as the one on my AT Pro. It's a great machine and this video did not do the GoFind any justice.

      Navy Dave Minelab does make quality detectors but you have to look for their hi-end products. These go-find detectors are very low cost models imo just to make more people buy their products. Cheap alternatif and very portable. At first I wanted to buy a go-find 60 because you can put it in your backpack and quickly unfold it but I ended up buying a Garrett AT pro because it was a way better detector for the price.

      Hahaha, well it's an entry level machine and it's noticable in the price ($150). But it could just take time for me to learn it more. I'll be taking it out this weekend again and do some more hunting/testing. :)

      I've thought about it. I was able to see the piece of metal but honestly, it looked like angle iron or something. It was flat and smooth and went down into the ground. I was wondering if it was something to stabilize the tree when it was first planted.

      You're probably right , but check all the other palms in the area to see if they have the same thing going on .
      Found some change .95 to be exact and some typical beach trash the last few times out . There's this small beach that was and still might be called nudie beach but there's less of that and more couples and families going there now . It takes some effort to get down to it and I was happy to find that the competition hasn't hit it yet or if they did it was a while ago . Also found a smartphone and sent it to the family of the 12 year old that lost a couple days before I found it . 4-5 more hours and that beach will be done .
      Looking at that Minelab Equinox 800 , that thing will like the beach a lot better than the Whites MX Sport . Good luck out there and find something awesome , God bless

    Finding a metal detector using a metal detector....that would be something

    Well, I thought it might do better in the sand , easier digging. But the auto balance and coil in the sand killed that thing. It boils down to the horrible coil. That thing would discourage ALL new detectorist. Fold it up and throw it away!

      Yea, it was chattery for sure. I might have to agree with you. But they could get lucky since they don't have any habits really. They might swing slowly and dig everything so they could luck out and find all the goods. :D

      Gary,,, I have the go-find 40,and it is a great little machine,,I don't think this video does the go-find series any justice,,they are inexpensive,very portable,light,and i don't know why she was having so much trouble,,!!(I didn't see the pinpoint being used on it!!)
