Just when I thought the paint n body shop was going to replace the whole truck bed on my heavy Chevy. Great vid 💯👌🏽✅
Thanks bro !! I’m glad you found the info helpful 🙌
New subscriber here.Getting ready to do one of these soon, two beds to make one on my 15 chevy...great video thanks for sharing!
Awesome, thanks for subscribing! 💯🙏 I have a bunch of bedside video’s on my channel, hopefully they help😃
Thanks for making these videos, they are a great help. I hope you are getting well paid from TH-cam because you really deserve it.
I appreciate that! Thanks for the support
Great vid, thanks for sharing :)
Thanks Tim , thank you for always coming back to see them ! ♥️
Good job, made it look easy.
Thanks bro 🤟
Only watched a couple of your Vids up to this point, but believe me if you invest in a 90 deg angle grinder of same size and all, not much more money than a straight one, I would bet you only use your straight grinder 5% of the time after that better viewing of your work and tighter areas to access. Way way more convenient.
You do good work.
Thanks ♥️ and for watching as well 💯
Thanks for sharing. I have an '04 GMC that the area behind the left rear corner of the bed is folded like an accordion and I didn't know what was behind it sheet metal.
Awesome , not about your truck, but you stopping by and watching the video. I have a model repair video of that year if I'm not mistaken... Its a chevy but its really all the same made by GM . Hope you find it helpful
Good job
Great job
Thank you 🙏
Nice job thanks
Thanks for watching 👍
Hello, u do great work. My question is can you use a single bed and remove the skins like u displayed and add dually fenders. I have a 2003 3500hd and my bed is damaged on one side
I don’t think so , I mean you can find a way to modify it but just swapping OEM fenders I don’t think you can
Hey man, do you think the next time you do a bed side removal on a 2014-2018 Silverado or Sierra 1500, can you measure the distance between the bed and the inside of the bedside panel?
I’m not sure what you mean but I will keep it in mind
Nice work, you made this look easy. I need to both sides on mine.......
Thanks 👍, a few years of experience will make anyone make it look easy
I need the same work done on my truck also need the cap corner to be fixed. How much in total will a job like this come out? Plus paint job?
A lot of things go into quoting, material labor and how much the parts cost. It all varies
I bought a whole used bed, intending to swap beds....got it for $300...but the inside is really beat up. I was initially thinking I'd just cut my old bed floor and wheel wells and sandwich it into place by bolting it in place. Don't think that'll work because the cross members have the threads for the bolts coming up from underneath. My old bed is WAY better inside. Is that even something to consider? Or can I cut my damaged left bed side off and put the used left bed side in its place, and even then it needs body work below the line behind the wheel well and a wheel well patch, too.
Yes you can drill out the bedside from the beginning on the floor right where the wheel well ends and the floor starts. I have videos installing a bedside assembly panel. Hope that helps
Doyou think a bedside for a 08 Silverado crew cab will fit on a GMC Sierra crewcab even with the style difference? , I've been looking for weeks and can't find one for my Sierra, I'm thinking about just putting one on from a silverado
I’m sure it would but the body lines are different
How are you spot welding the back of the bed panel near the rear bumper?
We have different attachments that reach , if we can't then we MIG Weld
Can you make a video w inner fender removal and replacements?
Whenever I get one that needs that replaced , I’ll make sure to record it
What if the bedside it pushed in at the wheel well and bent the inner bed side where it is welded to the wheel well?
Pull an straighten back to place , if damage is to extensive replace inner wheel well
I got an estimate from a body shop for 1200 a side on my 2011 Silverado and that was just cutting out the wheel wells and "glueing" in New ones. I think this would be a whole lot better. It would be a good opportunity to use a rust inhibitor or some sort of protective coating on the inside also.
Yes they can add more corrosion protection , replacing a bedside and wheel well would be way more than that. Sometimes the bedside alone can cost that much😩
That's a hell of a deal
What would be the approximate cost for this type of work on a 2001 Silverado 1500 long bed??
Every vehicle varies from what has to be done in the repair process sometimes it maybe more than what is shown here , also parts and rates may differ . Kind of hard to give an estimate without inspecting the car first
Did you just self tappers in to hold up the new one or you gonna spot weld it back on?
Spot welded back on
Will one of these silverado bedsides fit on a same model year and length sierra bed without other modifications?
I don’t think so, body lines differ
I can’t seem to find the side panel you just removed on the videos just the complete side with wheel well included. How can I get the just that specific park like in your video?

Hope that helps , gotta go straight to manufacturer !
Auto Wizard thanks!!
I’m still trying to figure out how u got them self tappers in between the cab
Remove bed bolts from frame and either remove bed or push back Bed
Can you tell me where and what size wheel your using on the angle grinder ! Thanks
3inch cut off wheel made by 3M
I have a 2011 Chevy Silverado extended cab and need the entire passenger side panel from front to rear, but can't seem to find one. Do you know where I can find one at?

@@AutoWizard94 thanks brother
@@AutoWizard94 would you happen to know which part is the front driver (left) corner section piece that the panel attaches to? Mine is bent downward and in and I am pretty sure I can fix it, but was wanting to see if it would be cheaper to just replace it?
Not sure I follow , the Fender?
Where did you buy the panel from ?
I’m honestly not quite sure we have a parts department that orders the parts for us and sometimes I get them from surrounding dealerships or straight from manufacture
Howd you get those tap screws in between the bed and cab?
Great question, I used a battery powered ratchet!
@@AutoWizard94 awesome i will being a titan cab and dont want to pull the whole dam bed out , i will try your method thanks!
Great! Hopefully that works for you thanks for watching 👍🙏
I have a 2013 1500 silverado and both sides and wheel wells are trash from rust. Im waiting for a appraisal now.
Yeah these and the model before tend to do that
great job I have a chevy 2007 new body style 8' where are you getting your panel skin ? cant find them on internet .
www.gmpartsstore.com/oem-parts/gm-outer-panel-22875337
Where can I get ahold of bed sides like this
We have a parts department that orders parts and they usually buy them from manufacturer or dealerships that may have them in stock
We're you located
Can this process be done in eight hours?
Depends, varies from expierence and knowledge about the work
How about if you have more damage then the outer skin
If the inner structure is repairable you can make some pulls and repair it , if not I also have replaced more than just the skin
th-cam.com/video/ZVSXGc2J0u4/w-d-xo.html
Face shield bro. Works great when cutting and grinding metal :-)
Awesome bro , will do 👍
Were did you order the skin from
We have parts department that orders all our parts .
Face shields are bulky for different angles though.
Yeah and they fog up to where you can't see
Dewalt makes safety glasses with edge protection.
Awesome, will be on the lookout for them. Personally I’m more of a Milwaukee guy lol
How do you slide out the bed like that?
How much the fender and where to buy it
We have a parts department that orders our parts for us
Did you just screw the new bedside on?
No I did not a combination of MiG welding and Spot welding
Safety glasses alone are not enough for grinding. Face shield on top of glasses is a must.
Understood
My dumb ass friend hit me today and feel like the whole panel is best to change , how much for just driver side of bed ? Estimate?
We’re can I order a bedside for my truck
We have a parts department that orders our parts for us
What up Yo?!!!
What's up bro
How much does something like cost to get done?
Would have to inspect the car see the extent of the damage, find out how much parts would cost it all differs but it’s up in the 2k range
Where are you located
I’m from Texas
Try using a face shield rather than safety glasses.
Thanks for the tip
Full mask or goggles needed.
That’s ridiculous they make the bed that way.
You have no protection on. No sleeves or gloves. Get a full face face shield. Save your eyes. Only get 2.
