Looks like a cool spot! Do you remember what backroads you took to get there? i have the yellow post map pulled up but there are lots of roads surrounding it and i know some in the are require a high clearance 4x4 vehicle so i want to avoid those.
Hi! I apologize for the delay in reply. Thanks for the question and I hope I can be of help. We went over to the Fawnskin side of Big Bear. If I remember, we drove "Rim of the World Drive" which turns into Forest Road 3N14, then Forest Road 3N12. You'll pass the Yellow Post Site 5 first then come across Yellow Post Site 33 shortly after (on the left side of the road). Site 33 is large with a turn about and is back off the road a bit, which meant we had a few vehicles drive into the site while we were occupying it because our setup was not able to be seen from the road. They would use the turn about once they drove down and saw we were currently occupying the site, but just a heads up to the potential of vehicle traffic visting the site. We drove our Subaru Outback without issue and for the most part, the roads were a bit bumpy/uneven, but weren't "off-roading" type of roads, in our opinion.
