Happy this got suggested to me. My granddad on my dads side is a carpenter and built his own home from nothing with my great grandpa. My grandpa on my moms side was a metal erector. And then there's me who never learned either lol. I've always had a huge interest in building things, but because of cost i can't take the financial risk of doing something wrong. Love this video.
You might consider rolled asphalt roofing on those ramps. It would protect them and give them some grip. Screen on your eaves would be good too. Birds and wasps would love getting up in those exposed overhangs. Good work! Looks great!
Interestingly I’ve spent days figuring out where to dig my post holes and where to place brackets. You mention how difficult this is and your friend helped. I dug bigger holes and put support down the middle because I had a 4 yard minimum. My shed is 12x36 so it’s 50% larger I’m definitely copying your idea- THANKS!!
Great work! Over built, for only a few extra dollars, is always a good move!! And building it up off the slope makes that usable space that otherwise might not have been!! I enjoy your videos on construction projects!
You made it look easy! Great video! One suggestion for the ramps, consider using a non-skid finish. My shed is a few years old and as the plywood ages, it has become very slippery. When I (someday) get around to replacing it, it will be finished with non-skid. Maybe just mix sand with the paint/stain.
Great job! That shed is built better than most houses today. The attention to detail in the right areas will definitely help it last you for many years.
@@user-pz4nb4xw1wdon’t be a tool bag, just compliment the man. Modern homes are built terribly. I’ve seen many, and yes, I’ve “swung” a hammer quite a bit.
Hell, yeah dude saving this one for tonight, I was thinking about something similar in my backyard as well but unfortunately, I am right on the edge of city limits and they require 6 feet from your neighbors fence and I only have about 12 feet from my house to the fence, it would have been perfect for something long and skinny. Also, I met a new friend last week that has an 03 boosted Mustang and told him I was inspired by your build and he knew exactly who I was talking about.
Great project and vid. One design and structure comment: your roof structure has limited shear bracing. American construction typically has sheet panel sheathing under the roof material which does much of that role. Depending on the gauge of the steel roof you used it is going to have bracing effect but with inherent flex and movement it's a bit deficient in the flat horizontal plane at the top of the wall level. It's usual to add full corner to corner diagonal at ceiling joist level or at least cross bracing on each roof plane to do this. Ply shelving layer on ceiling joists is superb way to do this. Nice shed tho, love the ramps, nice work on getting that trapezoid shape to touch level on both the floor and ground!
Thanks a lot! And yeah my house has that diagonal shear bracing you mentioned. With how small the roof is, the combination of purlins and the metal itself seems to do the job sufficiently.
@@Kordare Yeah it is amazing during construction how adding sheet roofing suddenly adds massive lateral rigidity to a garage. Your construction is definitely pretty burly as it is. If you ever felt it needed it you could add them across the mid rafter ties. Either strapping or ply.
I think this is how it should be built. It gives options. You can later on convert it into some finished space. 2x4 in the ceiling does not help with that given the insulation requirements. If you had bought this shed I would be jealous but cannot be jealous over someone's labor. The video was great. I do wonder how you managed to line up the hangers.
You've given me a great idea with the two door system for bikes. My plan was to build a turntable, but your method is way way simpler, even if it costs me a wall of shelving. I love the ramp on the side.
Super nice build dude. Thanks for sharing this, this resolved my headache of planning a floor construction on a slope like yours. Building a smaller shed but will be following your design for the floor.
I did carpentry for about 15 years. Professional workmanship. If this is your 9-5 (in construction it's more like 7-7), I'm sure you'll do well as long as your contracts will hold up in court against deadbeats. I tried striking out on my own without any help or contract... Big mistake. Love the ramp.
Damn that ramp design is fantastic, what an awesome idea. The metal might be overkill but you'll never have to worry about the wood rotting and that hinge idea is brilliant. The whole shed is gorgeous.
I like watching these videos and usually find myself criticizing people (some that say they are carpenters) But you did an outstanding job! I like seeing people notch posts and lay beams on TOP not bolted through the side so the bolt can later become a splitting wedge! I think I watched you build a house behind/in that other building.
Awesome video as always Kordare. This was another amazing build for an awesome place. Two things is when you Stain the ramps you may want to put rubber strips on for more grip going up and down when it’s wet and where it’s open under the roof you may want to put So that critters won’t make a nest in your shed where you don’t want them too.

Probably the nicest shed build I've seen. Question, when standing inside the building, I see light coming in the roof ridge (peak) & also the soffit perimeter has light coming in. Do you worry about pests and insects intrusion and nesting in these areas? Or is it screened?
Great build! I hope you are planning on closing up the soffits before filling it with stuff. In my area, the squirrels and critters would come right on in and make themselves at home!🙂

@@Kordare Yeah, if you had a block foundation, they would be called rim joists that sat on a sill plate on top of the blocks. Would have use 5/4 deck boards instead of plywood for the Ramps. That allows for water to drain off between the gaps instead of having to run down the entire board. Also makes it easier to replace in the future

I had a local shed company make my 10x20 shed. My regret now is I didn’t have ridged insulation put into the floor. The shed at that time was not heated but now that I’m retiring soon and I’m in the process of heating and insulating it. When building something always make it bigger that you think you need and consider it’s use may change down the road.
This by far is the best shed built video that I have ever seen. I have been researching sheds for three years and plan to put one in back yard. This exact shed is what I need. Where can I find the shed plan and material list?
You may want to add gutters on the rear of the shed. Even though your siding is far away from the ground, you will definitely have erosion issues right near where your footers are. In just the little time that this shed has been up you got a good water line. Imagine years later that's going to be much more severe.
Concrete square topping you just did may pull your concrete columns above ground because of seasonal frost heaving cycle. You will not see the results immediately, will take few years. Overall you did a great job, thanks for sharing.
I am from NH and in my town the max size for a shed is 12x16 anything bigger than that is considered a garage unfortunately. Overall your shed is very nice and should last a good long time. I think your estimate on purchasing a shed if a little off I recently got a quote for a 12x14 for $7500.00, I think I will be building one myself instead.
That ws a very impressive build my man, what a great looking shed you really thought everything out ahead of time. Have you ever thought about installing a backup solar system for the house and shed ?
Thanks a lot! I've definitely thought about solar. I don't have any south facing roof planes but I could likely still get a good amount of power out of it. It would be nice since I do get power outages fairly often.
I have to say you did it first class. Few things over kill some like the vinyl guttering would have went with seamless. Over all fantastic job..how much did you spend just curious
I don't know if you have room on the side but I would go with the wall mount garage door opener. Also, did you not add blocking on the top plate between the rafters to keep birds and other critters out?
Awesome detail & build , very well done indeed . Do you have any blueprints or specs available ? Going to build a DIY shed myself but would like some prints to go along with it for the inspector & permit. Thx again 👍⚾️
If you scuff the plywood with a big wirewheel on a grinder, can you use spray on bed liner like RaptorLiner? I would think a few coats, and then a final one at 24-36" away would make it not be slick. I would imagine that paint would get dirty and slick quick.
Great job. Thank you for sharing. I might have missed it, did you put any soffit under the over hangs to close the gaps? Thanks again, new subscriber and can't wait to go through videos and watch more of your work.
Thanks! Nope I've had zero issues, maybe a couple bees but they get in anywhere. I did use a screen vent at the ridge, and will likely screen in the soffits at some point.
Love it! I have a similar sloped terrain so this was a great reference. what's the name of the first software you used, for laying out the footers/studs?
That ramp design for the overhead door end was brilliant.

@@Kordare Cool With your workmanship and the way you think about every aspect of your projects, it would be a great video.
It’s a pretty little shed, you’re certainly making the most of your land.
Once dried out, I think stain would be a better option for the ramps.
Also, the shed looks good next to your house/shop!
Thanks a lot!
I have to say you did it first class. Few things over kill some like the vinyl guttering would have went with seamless. Over all fantastic job..how much did you spend just curious
Thanks a lot! All in was about $9k
Another great video. Have you or did you consider putting a drain or two in the floor?
Thanks! And no not really. Since it's wooden I'll try to avoid getting it too wet anyway
consider adding some flower boxes under the windows
Nice build! The shed looks solid but I don't think the plywood on the ramps will hold up over time. Maybe use deck boards
Thanks! They are treated and I'll be sealing the top side
You do good work, looks nice.
Thanks a lot!
I don't know if you have room on the side but I would go with the wall mount garage door opener.
Also, did you not add blocking on the top plate between the rafters to keep birds and other critters out?
I didn't add soffit yet, probably just some screen. No issues so far though
Awesome build… would you mine sharing the shed build software or app you used
Thanks! Framing design was in pro/e Creo. The visual exterior was shedsunlimited.net
Really nice work 👏
Thank you!
you sure make it look easy
It wasn't too bad other than dealing with the height on the back side. Could have used a 2 foot taller ladder 😂
Awesome detail & build , very well done indeed . Do you have any blueprints or specs available ? Going to build a DIY shed myself but would like some prints to go along with it for the inspector & permit. Thx again 👍⚾️
Thanks! I don't currently but I might create some, as others are interested as well.
Great 👍 would luv to purchase one . Thx again & well done . ⚾️
Outstanding work.
Thank you!
Am attempting a 20 ft by 16 ft shed gym 👌💪🏻. Thanks for the video
Good luck with yours 🤘
@@Kordare av done a video on my
Profile on here Today of my progress. It’s very similar to your own. Am doing it in honor of my late son
If this is your shed for dirty stuff, your house must be gorgeous. Maybe you should be president!!!!
😂😂😂
If you scuff the plywood with a big wirewheel on a grinder, can you use spray on bed liner like RaptorLiner? I would think a few coats, and then a final one at 24-36" away would make it not be slick. I would imagine that paint would get dirty and slick quick.
Yeah that might work 👍
Really nice build!
Did you use 2x6 header for the garage door? Also what size is that garage door?
Thanks! Yes I did, it's 7ft high x 9ft wide
Great job !
Thank you!
Great job. Thank you for sharing. I might have missed it, did you put any soffit under the over hangs to close the gaps? Thanks again, new subscriber and can't wait to go through videos and watch more of your work.
Thanks for checking it out! I haven't built any soffits yet, but likely will. I also bought some foam venting for under the ridge cap.
You might use bed liner for the ramps to help with traction when pulling bikes and mowers into it.
Someone else mentioned the same thing!
Nice work! I think it came out great. Now that' it's been complete for a while, are you regretting not using bird boxes or enclosing the soffits?
Thanks! Nope I've had zero issues, maybe a couple bees but they get in anywhere. I did use a screen vent at the ridge, and will likely screen in the soffits at some point.
@@Kordare I need a large-ish building, I'm going to take from your design, heavily. :)
Can you post the blueprints and supply list to this build please? Been looking for a good shed and this one would be perfect for me.
Could you tell me what software you're using? Great video and presentation. Thanks for sharing.

@@Kordare Thank you!
Muchas gracias por compartir de tu conocimiento pronto comensare a construir el mio con este bideo gracias
Good luck with your project! 🤘🤘
Love it! I have a similar sloped terrain so this was a great reference. what's the name of the first software you used, for laying out the footers/studs?

Yea bro you made it look super easy. Lol. My would like a leaning shed. Lol😂
