Hi Gary. Thanks for the helpful grid tips. I've now started to deign a lot of my work using the 3D Extrude & Bevel option as it speeds up my workflow. I can draw flat shapes quickly and then have 3D take the headache. I sometimes use the Perspective grid tool but now find myself just using the 3D tool instead.
Gary, thank you very much for your tutorial. I was doing the three-point perspective guide and my grid looks wonky. Your tutorial helped me create customized illustrated placeholders for my case study
Thanks for the tutorial. Just tried the same thing in Paint 3D. Some things were easier, some not... but did have fun viewing in mixed reality and created a simple video with a simple animation (didn't know MS added that last bit.)
Gray could you make a video serious on how to use adobe illustrator and Photoshop. It would be great for us. Lots of video over online are over killing. I'm really looking forward for this. Thank you
I tried to use this as a way to get into Illustrator, but even when I do everything step for step, Illustrator reacts completely different. For instance in Scale menu for the grit says "could not complete requested operation. The requested transformation would make some objects too large.", in spite I use same canvas dimensions and same formats as you do, here in the video. Has anyone here experienced same issue? I also experienced issues when I tried to merge the two layers with the shape modes in path finder. It just doesn't want to do it.
Thank you for great tutorial... I noticed that when you round the corner of the phone and you still have Selection tool on which did not work for me. I had to select Pen Tool, Curvature Tool, or Lasso Tool in order to have that dot in 4 corner when i hold ctrl... FYI I am also using adobe Illustrator CC 2019. Maybe they changed that in 2019? Thank you again... most grateful. Keep up the good work sir.
This method works well for older Illustrator versions, but is not the fastest workflow today. You can do it in 2D and then extrude it in 3D directly in illustrator avoiding all the guides thing. Give it a try :)
Less difficult than you think: Effects -> 3D -> Extrude -> Dropdown menu "POSITION" -> Isometric Top. Anyway this tutorial (and all the others) is still valid and a good way to learn grids and transformation. My comment was just a my way to do the same thing, not a critic. I've learned many things on this channel and for once, i'd wanted to give something useful back :)
Loved your work dude.. Superb 👌🏻👍🏻 Could you please tell the name of tool/software which you used to place your live image recording in the video i.e on the top of photoshop screen which is visible to us. Will glad to hear from you

First, very good video! But I have one problem: Illustrator changes my 86.602% to 86%. Do you know how to fix it? :)
Thanks bro..👍🏻👍🏻

I'll try it, but something tells me getting the right angle/perspective might not be easy.
