People who need good packing tape for corrugated boxes and read my message: 1. More Glue on tape = More adhesion strenght (If you order tape always ask manufacturers specification table, because some manufacturers has thicker backing but low amount of glue). 2. The more glue it has on tape = It also be way more pricey. 3. Tape manufacturers recommend to choose backing made of BOPP if you choose pack boxes up to 45KG boxes (45KG box demands max thickness of tape you can find usually 3.5 mil) 4. Tape manufacturers recommend to choose backing made of Polyester (PET) if you choose to pack double and triple walled corrugated cartons and fiberboard pallet boxes. 5. Cost for small bussinesses Adhesive tape with BOPP backing and very high adhesive thickness is from 3 EUR/USD to 5 EUR/USD 1 roll of 48mm | 60/66 meters. 6. Cost for small bussinesses Adhesive tape with Polyester (PET) backing and very high adhesive thickness is from 9 EUR/USD to 18 EUR/USD 1 roll of 48mm | 50/60 meters. 7. If you curious which tape manufacturers use to seal their boxes, it's Polyester (PET) tape with high adhesive amount and it's too expensive for small business to afford it, nor its needed. My story of testing tapes: I found that good packing tape has much glue for example: Thickness - Backing 2.0 mil (0.051 mm), but total tape thickness is 3.5 mil (0.09 mm), it means it has 1.5 mil (0.039mm) of glue and it sticks like crazy, when I try to pull it from corrugated box it torns off corrugated box liner. Also Polyester (PET) backing works best for securely closing double walled corrugated cartons which sometimes is more than 80-100KG. But its too expensive for small businesses, only manufacturers who need that kind of tape the most can get it for reasonable price.
