It's an employers market. Pay is down, hiring way down. The idea is for employers to poach from each other, because nobody new has years of experience. Still good to have the skills overall.
Got a degree, two certifications and still can’t land an entry level role. Have a home lab and I’ve been playing with computers for almost 20 years but never held an actual IT role. The real problem is that employers want to hire someone with several years of experience and pay them entry level pay. The market is extremely over saturated, there are more people with experience than there are newbies like myself which is why one reason we see the ridiculous job requirements. Opinions?
Kind of in the same boat....I have a help desk role I've been in for 2 years with a bachelor's and diploma in IT....trying to pivot into cyber security after receiving 3 Cybersecurity certs 2 months ago and haven't even gotten an interview yet after applying for maybe 100jobs
Crazy how I just watched your other episode with him and this dropped. Been a few years since I was in tech and now I’m taking the steps to get back into it and be on the network side. Thanks for your videos!
Could you guys do a Live Q&A collaboration video I know sometimes people new to IT are either interested in Networking or Cybersecurity and I think you guys dominate those fields for sure and it would be great to get some answers for you guys
Man the comments here are making me so demotivated! I'm 25 fresh graduate, studying for CCNA, live in sydney! Is there any hope for me?? I'd appreciate any genuine advice! Thanks
Hello there! I am new to the IT industry, and I am very much interested in networking. I have just completed my degree and I am now looking to start my networking career.. but I am really confused from where to start. There r institution that offer A+,CCNA,N+,AZURE,AWS,RHC in one course for 6 months, but idk if I will be able to learn all these in 6 months.. Any fellow IT experts pls help me out.. where do I start?
So basically having charisma is just as important as certs and degrees lol also tech leads new video is an eye opener. Do you guys think a new tech bubble has popped?
I’m looking to get into the field looking more toward a GRC role. One question though, I don’t even own a computer right now, would I need anything expensive to start? I’m assuming not but just want to check.
Where you located? I did some digging and found a nonprofit that gives laptops to people for free in the area. It was based on income and need and I told them I needed a semi-decent laptop to complete cybersecurity labs on, and that my $700 laptop was stolen in December when I was homeless. I just had to contact him, go pick up the laptop, and now I have Dell latitude 7490 with 16GB RAM, 250GB SSD (that I intend to upgrade), and i-5 CPU @ 160GHz 180GHz. This laptop I was given for free is worth around $250 and it runs like a dream. Some google searches in your area with "non-profit free laptop" or you could search "everyoneon free laptop for low income" and those should at least get you searching in the right direction, I think.
Really bullshit nothing is really true. What you’re saying about if you’re coming from third world country, no matter how much experience you have and Certs or ctfs you are not getting it even to a entry level

The industry is a scam
What certs do you have? Is it any associate or specialty level certs? What tech role are you looking to get into?
What certs do you have? Do you have a portfolio? What social media presence do you have? What type of jobs do you look for and how often do you apply?
Simple suppy and demand. When the market is over saturated, wages drop.
Made my day! My two favorite IT guys in one video, GREAT VIDEO
Thank you so much... Glad you enjoyed it

Certs or ctfs you are not getting it even to a entry level
Can you explain what you mean by that?
The gate keeping in tech is outrageous. So much so i moved on from trying to land an entry level job after trying for 3 years
Have you respectfully used Indeed? ZipRecruiter? It’s not easy for sure but aa that’s a difficult entry.
