  • Thank You Lincoln Electric for sponsoring this Video and for teaching me how to Tig Weld!
    www.lincolnelec...
This week i was in New York and had the pleasure to work in Jimmy Direstas Shop. Hope you enjoy the video. This lamp obviously needs an earth cable to make it safe because it is all metal. I simply didn`t have the right cable and there was no time to buy it because we only had 2 days in the shop. so if you want to build a lamp like this, make sure it is earthed!!
If you like what i do you can support me at:

It's crazy how the footage can be shot in the same space you do, but look completely unique.

Hi Laura, old man Norwegian here from Minnesota, USA...I really enjoy your channel, you're very creative and build interesting projects...the sound on this video...the old school dirty vinyl underneath the keyboards / bass creates a relaxing groove. You're a craftsman of many faces, formats, and materials...peace.

So cool to see you building in Jimmy's shop, because I remember how you emailed him when you were getting started. Super fan girl! Now, there you are, in his shop, working beside him. Awesome!

Wow, this is a great beginning welding project that looks super sophisticated (especially on the band saw)! Solid looking welds too! Next you should learn to TIG braze so you can incorporate that into your designs; I know you love the contrast. It could be your new walnut and brass. Love your videos!

Was enjoying this from the very first seconds, then the changing focus on the cut steel coils hit the screen and I sort of yelled 'YES!' and startled everyone in the house. Your projects are great, and your production quality is like through the roof.

Thumbs up! This is a pretty ordinary project (and an almost ancient design), but from an art perspective, I think the video is one of your best ever. Great editing, and a very distinctive atmosphere comes across.
One quibble I have with the design is that you apparently have to reach inside the light hood to turn it on or off. That seems inconvenient, and, if the bulb gets hot, possibly dangerous.
