We used to collect pop bottles made of glass, wash them and take them back for pop bottle pennies and collect newspapers for the fish shop to wrap up their goodies.Parks had fountains to drink from. I used to darn my own socks as a kid and wore hand downs from my big brothers. When foot balls got burst, we sealed the hole with a hot poker. We learnt how to fix our own bikes instead of just buying a new one. Take away food was a rarity except fish 'n' chips wrapped in newspaper. The kids these days haven't a clue.

The bearings in the turbines will be packed with grease. When they are maintained (especially offshore) engineers will use boats and helicopters to get to them. Without oil, there would be no wind turbines.

I live by a school you should see the mums and dad's who take their kids in their cars and they live in our small town maybe 1/2 a miles away. They are so not green these young people

Wind turbines, how much oil does a wind turbine use??
A huge amount in the construction process from the Steel used to fabricate the column, the plastics, the hundreds or in some cases thousands of tonnes of concrete used for the base, the list will go on. The bearings in the turbines will be packed with grease. When they are maintained (especially offshore) engineers will use boats and helicopters to get to them. Without oil, there would be no wind turbines.

It's always them blaming everyone else and saying "sign up to just stop oil" but they are using things that use oil themselves so are hypocrites. He uses trains that Kim quite rightly pointed out that a train uses oil. Also it's like the one who was on the plane wearing the just stop oil t-shirt. Errr planes use oil as well.
Until they just use a push bike to get anywhere or their legs and nothing else at all, then I can't see anyone taking them seriously.
I had the privilege of meeting Kim about 10 years ago at a motorway services, I was repairing a coffee machine and was down on my knees with the blue roll cleaning up a spillage. Suddenly there was a pair of ladies shoes in front of me, I looked up and it was the lovely Kim ! She said, that's what I like to see young man. She took the time to chat and was just a joy, wish I could have chatted with her longer. I digress, totally agree with Kim, awesome lady.

I actually feel sorry for these kids, they have been totally brainwashed and ironically have had their childhoods stolen not by oil, but by this pessimistic vision of the future.
Rather than pointing out the obvious hypocrisy of them using /benefiting form oil and being against it, i'd prefer GB news to press them on their long term, practical plans to transition from oil.
Also, GB news should focus on getting each and every one of them on record, stating which decade they expect the consequences to occur, then hold them to account when it does not happen.
Maybe this would help snap them out of it.
