For whatever reason Karma has made its way over to Western Society. Continue watching this video as we look into Karma and how it relates to Hinduism.
KARMA - the 1st fact about Hinduism. If you're a Hindu you believe in karma--its something as a Hindu you don’t even think about.Karma is something that pervades all Hindu thought and scriptures.
Even someone who claims they know NOTHING about Hinduism, has some idea about Karma. Karma is something that is so deeply ingrained in the consciousness of Hindus that for most Hindus, we don’t even think about it.
Over here in North America, Karma is now a common word used by everyone and is now part of everyday language.
KARMA means action. The word Karma is derived from the Sanskrit Kri, meaning to do; all action is Karma.
Now actions can have 2 forms: what we physically do (helping someone, caring for someone) and also activities of our mind -- our mental actions --what are we thinking about at any given moment. All of these actions -- whether physical or mental -- will have an effect.
That in a nutshell is what Karma is. Any action will have an effect, will have a consequence. Even inaction is considered an action -- and will have a some type of outcome.

Very good explanation. Christians could learn a lot from this video since even in the Bible Jesus talked about sowing seeds in the field & good & bad fruit being produced etc.

Love the way you have decided to explain Hinduism in short videos, thank you 🙏
In this topic I would lie to say that Prarabdha Karma is that part of Sanchit karma which fructifies in this life. All the unexpected joys and sorrows of this life like winning a lottery, accidental death etc are said to be due to Prarabdha, in a way are predestined due to karma of past life. Kriymaan/Aagami karma relates to karma of present life, whatever we do in the present life will partly fructify in this life and some may be deposited in our Sanchit karma fir the future lives.🙏

Great explanation, I would define Karma as an action with intention. Here the quality of karma is a function of the quality of intention. A positive karma is an action done with positive intentions. A boy is slapped by a father, teacher, sports coach or a jealous friend or a racist person. Each person suffers a different karma due to different intentions. Here mind and context define the Karma. 🙏🏻

Yes. And the time period doesn't matter. The fruits of your karma in this life are also received in your next life. Which is why so much stress is laid upon good actions. Because the cycle of karma doesn't simply encompass a singular life, it encompasses all the births and death a soul experiences.

There's actually a parallel to Karma in the Bible that invites further dialogue. In Proverbs when we are instructed to keep the commands and teachings of the father so that it may go well with our life, that we may length of days and abundant welfare (Proverbs 3:1-2 NRSV).

Amazing information. I was indeed ignorant about these teachings because all I would hear is "karma" as a "gonna getcha" idea.
DISCLAIMER: Understand from this point forward that I am not malevolent to any teachings, and I can only compare with what I know presently.
It turns out that Jesus Who founded and taught what was to becomed named Catholicism in A.D. 110, teaches these forms of Karma in His several parables.
0:54 - In John 1:1, we know that "in the beginning" God was the "Verb". Action.
1:01 - Actions are both physical (James 2:24) and mental (Mark 7:20-23).
    1:25 - All actions have an effect: Mark 11:14 ... 11:20.
    1:29 - James 4:17. "... In what I've done, and what I've failed to do ..."
1:43 - the entire Gospel is about changing our lives. "... forgive us as we forgive others ..." That is, forgive us O Father exactly like we forgive others ... ouch! Do you forgive? Will He? Hmmm ...
1:56 - Catholics view this Karma as "Original Sin". We bring this with us from our first parents.
    2:05 - Phillippians 1:6
2:21 - we diverge here by repenting, and therefore have the ability to change at will. (no worries)
2:24 - John 5:14. The difference here is that again, we are able to repent; however, failure to do so, and pay reparations will be judged at the end of life in two judgments: The First by Jesus, and the General, again by Jesus.
2:50 - Jesus teaches about seeds interestingly enough in this parable: Matthew 13:18-23. Here Jesus teaches about how each might respond to the Gospel. It is not an identical parallel; however, the idea of how men's hearts are impacted by these great religions are remarkably similar.
Shawn, thank you for your teachings. As far as my research has discovered, we are both from ancient origins. I found that Hinduism appears to date back to 4,000 years, and Catholicm, which adopts the Jewish root from about that time or a little before as the Jewish calendar states that we are in Sivan 5781. I found these similarities exceptionally educative. I believe that we both are on the right track to a wonderful future.
    Thank you again.
P.S. If you find this comparison illegitimate or offensive, please delete the post, and I hold no ill will; however, I have this feeling that we are both very open-minded about how things work out. Peace be with you, my friend!

Karma are deeds and nothing else. It can lead to hell fire or next birth can be of any other being but not human life again.
Each person has his own understanding of deeds, called karma in Hindu religion
Again, When religion is different how can the punishment be the same?
In other religions God gave consent to eat non veg food. And there is no punishment and karma has nothing to do with it.
In Hinduism, non veg is prohibited by holy ones of the religion, and if eaten leads to next life of similar being and will be slaughtered and killed for having eaten non veg food.
Hence, Karma and understanding it are two different things.
You cannot say karma and consequences to all religions to he same.
Every religion has specific consent and specific prohibition.
Hence, deeds and consequences differ from one religion to the next.

      @civilianrightwing 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

I would not agree that karma affects people in different religions differently.
Irrespective of religion karma will affect people.
Karma due to Eating non vegetarian food depends on the pain suffered by the life which comes back as pain endured.
Eating an egg causes no pain hence no karma.
Eating a fish causes a very small pain as fishes have a rudimentary brain hence a very small karma.
Eating a chicken causes some pain that equals a day's worth of headache. Can be exhausted by spending one day in the gym causing pain to the body or suffering a muscle tear.
Eating goat meat is karma which must be endured by a week of pain in the gym or trekking or fever or continuous migraine etc.
Eating beef is more serious as a cow feels most pain and that pain can cause cancer, resulting in accidents, loss of loved ones, loss of a job, loss of a limb, reduction of life span by 5 years for death of every cow we are responsible for.
Soldiers eat meat and can wash the karma by intensive and painfull training they undergo.
If your lifestyle does not allow you to feel pain every day of your life then you should avoid meat. 🤔🤠😎😃😐🙏🏻

Sin is universal problem. Sin is ubiquitous. Humanity contaminated by sin. Sin in us by default, not learnt, not taught. Sin manifests in many forms - evil, crime. Sin is the opium. The origin of sin is unanswered.
    My journey.
Sin is pre-existing in all. Nobody taught us to sin. Sin pre-dates The Bible. The Bible explains origins of sin. The Bible provides remedy for pre-existing sin, through Jesus Christ death and resurrection. The Bible is best selling book in the world for this reason. Sin is real, The Bible is relevant. Sin is born at every child birth. Sin is disease of heart, and Jesus Christ is the cure.
Satan is the enemy, came to steal, kill and destroy. Misleads us to blame good loving God. God is not the author of evil.
Media, Police, Defense, Judiciary, Penitentiary, Security, Contracts confirm sin exists.
The origins of life, natural laws, sin, morals, purpose, meaning, conscience, music, creativity, intelligence, beauty, color, nature, water, air, light and amalgamation, remain unevidenced - elsewhere.
We love truth when it enlightens us, but hate when it convicts us.
Instructing to "Heart wash" from sin is not "Brainwash".
God created universe, placed natural laws, made humans in His image, gave talents, instructed to multiply and explore - The Initiation of Science. Science is the legitimate child of natural laws. Without natural laws science has no foundation.
We are created with good purpose and meaning. We are good. Then sin entered through satan and we all fallen. Disease, despair, deformities, deficiencies, depression, stress, guilt, greed, hate, anger, rebellious spirit, spiritual death entered. Sin plays spoilsport.
Unloose the Soul from the tight knot of sin. Soul outlasts death.
Sinners cannot save themselves from sin. Jesus Christ, the Holy God, intervened, willingly died on The Cross and resurrected, for remmissions of our sins, to save us from sin and hell.
We are weak at the core, however we try to portray otherwise. We need Holy God's help, who is willing to help with open arms.
Unable to find any motive any reason for Jesus Christ to die willingly on Cross and resurrect - except His love to save us from pre-existing sin and hell.
Nobody died for our sins and resurrected - except Jesus Christ. Exclusivity
    Jesus Christ claimed:
"I am The Way, The Truth and The Life". "I am The Resurrection and The Life".
    "I am The Good Shepherd".
Jesus Christ has the authority to forgive sins.
Religion says "Do". Jesus Christ says "Done".
Religion is man's attempts to 'search gods'. Jesus Christ came from heaven in 'search of man'.
Salvation from sin and hell is not earned through works or deeds or pilgrimages or rituals or ceremonies or traditions or cultures or meditations or public displays or hypocrisy or making personal sacrifices or making animal sacrifices.
Salvation from sin and hell is free, but not cheap. Because Jesus Christ laid His life on The Cross, and resurrected.
God loves the sinner, but hates the sin. Just like a parent loves child, but hates disease in child.
We are saved by God's grace, not by our works.
Karma is getting what we deserve. Grace is getting what we don't deserve. Only Grace can be pre-fixed with word Amazing. Amazing Grace. Karma is not Amazing, it is depressing.
GRACE: Getting what we don't deserve - i.e. forgiveness of sin, eternity in heaven through Jesus Christ.
MERCY: Not getting what we deserve - i.e. punishment of sin, separation from God, eternity in hell.
Other side of death is eternity. Either in hell; or in heaven through Jesus Christ.
God offers grace and mercy for free through Jesus Christ death and resurrection.
Jesus Christ suffered, ridiculed, spat-on, humiliated, crucified on The Cross, and therefore He understands our pain. He raised victorious, we will too. Those who endure till end are victorious.
Jesus Christ coming again to judge all. The doors will be closed. Jesus Christ reveals every mystery, answers every question. We all deserve to know the truth. He is The Alpha and The Omega. He judges everyone.
One day every knee shall bow, every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
The First Christmas - Jesus Christ came to earth from heaven to save us from pre-existing sin.
The First Good Friday - Jesus Christ crucified to The Cross, died willingly for remission of our sins.
The First Resurrection Day, also linked to Easter - Jesus Christ resurrected from death.
Jesus Christ made entry to Holy Heaven free through Him. Repent of sin and be saved. Easy.
The First Coming of Jesus Christ - He is Lamb, slaughtered for remission of sins
to save us from sin and hell. And resurrected.
The Second Coming of Jesus Christ - He will be Lion, The Judge.
    The Lamb and The Lion.
Jesus Christ forgave all who crucified Him, and now forgives all, even who reject, ridicule and mock Him. He loves all unconditionally.
Believe, trust, repent of pre-existing sin in Jesus Christ that He died for remission of our sins and resurrected, and coming back to judge, accept Him as Lord and Saviour, and be saved from sin and hell. Any time, any where. Even now. Simple.
Nothing to lose, everything to gain.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
I found God loved me regardless of sins, weaknesses and rejections by others. As sinner I cannot save myself through deeds. He believed me and has faith in me. I am not in competition with others. God loves you all, individually.
(My journal. Journey to life - after testing all 'isms' and religions, after failing to find origins, purpose and meaning of life, after swallowing pride, egos, anger, hate, depression.)
