It's my personal opinion that Stranglehold is an underappreciated gem of a video game. It's like Max Payne if Max Payne didn't take itself so seriously. I feel validated whenever a game I like gets mentioned by Tim Rogers.

Maybe it’s a generational thing with people saying “this isn’t worth $60”... I mean it’s a lavish, hugely technically impressive open world game with fast paced and surprisingly deep combat and a wonderfully camp and wonderfully acted storyline. I’ve gotten 20hrs out of it so far and I’m still loving just jumping over dudes and shooting their faces off before I land. It’s great! Everything I wanted out of a game when I was 10, but that was 20 years ago and before battle royale games.

I've been seeing that its a throwback and that people seem to dig it. Honestly I'm all for it. After playing a game like RDR2 with a lot of its systems being kinda pointless it's nice to play a game were it let's you just have dumb fun.
I always play as a woman in games but this will be hard to decide on. Playing as Terry sounds amazing. Hmm. Do the other people you can play as have any good lines? Or is it just subpar voice acting?

Sadly many gamers today want super amazing games within blowing concepts. Me? Those games are fun but Crackdown has always been about mindless over the top fun. Saints Row was considered the "silly" version of GTA. But Crackdown came before SR and is better in its own way. Granted SR actually has story and what not. But the series has taken a dive. Unlike Crackdown which sticks to its same fun mechanics. The map I have to say looks REALLY small. So I doubt the game is very long. Though alot of the game is always "vertically" huge. Also alot of the fun with the Crackdown games with the DLC that came out later. New abilities, new cops, new vehicles....etc.
:( It's just a shame that the original Crackdown was more creative and fleshed out than this one. I was enjoying Crackdown 3. But eventually it began to feel like a shell of it's predecessor. The long overdue release is apparently not an indicator of more time spent on the game. It's clear they just packed what they already had, cut their losses and released this game to bolster their scant selection of Game-Pass games. Worth it for 2$ :D Although, the emotional damage I sustained looking at the Spider car vs the original crackdown SUV... Back to :(

I totally agree with everything in this review except for the driving part. The driving is horrible. Thankfully there is no reason to drive so its not a big deal. Crackdown 3 is pure fun.

I want to play this game, but not at 1080p if that makes sense. Just seems a little too empty and exposed that way. Dark Souls Remastered makes me feel similar.
