    Bonus for Archers: canis root, and juniper berries make a Fortify Marksmen potion. aside from growing both ingredients in mass quantity at home, juniper trees can be found all over the region near marcarth, usually along roads.

      this is actually some splendid information, add onto this using weakness to poison coupled with lingering damage potions to your arrows and you can normally deal some pretty substantial damage without ever getting close to the enemy.

    i played as a pyromancer recently and i used a lot these 3 recipes:
    1) Regenerate Magicka + Restore Magicka + Fortify Magicka (3 all at once) = Jazbay Grapes + Red Mountain Flower + Taproot (or Moonsugar)
    2) Weakness to poison + Weakness to fire = Bleeding crown + Juniper Berries + Deathbell (Very usefull when you want to amplify the damage you are dealing. The first strike with that poison will make your ennemy weak to poison and then after the strike and so dose of poison is going to be more effective because the ennemy had already his poison resistance weakened.
    3) Fortify Destruction = Glowing Mushrooms + Nightshade (A must have to actual damage with a mage in skyrim while playing in higher difficulties.) I'm trying to find a second effect to add ... but i struggle to find the great ingredient. A nice addictionnal effect would be Magic resistance for example but no ingredients matches together unfortunatly.
    Even if you're not using these potions, it can be sold for a good price.
    For an assassin used:
    1) Dmg life on hit + Dot life + Paralyse = Human flesh + Imp stool + Carnivorous Fish scales
    For a berzerker i used this:
    1) Fortify 2 handed-weapons + Régénerate Stamina = Dragon's tongue + Fly Aminita + Mora Topinella.
    Can someone tell to me recipe that does this: Restore life + Fortify life + Regenarate Life ( the 3 at once) i'm stuck with blue mountain flowers and wheat atm.
    Anyway i hope that is going to help somebody :) and good game.

    • @sachi7614
      @sachi7614 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      More akin to Viagra. An aphrodisiac promotes a lustful desire, while a Stamina potion would be more useful for prolonging a sexy encounter.

    Remember, folks: Dragons suffer only damage from potions, and undead (this includes Vampires!) are completely immune.
    I'd recommend having one or two damage poisons and a paralysis poison handy, as well as a fire/frost/shock resist potion and a +onehanded/archery potion.
    Health, Stamina and Magicka potions are best just bought from vendors.
    Or two-handed if you swing that way.

    • @ZEO900
      @ZEO900 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      there's a slight problem with that. the only way you are aloud to go to the garden is to follow the collage quests. before you get the key for the room, it is considered steeling. after you get the key you may use it all you want but the respond time is a bit different due to it being considered a bedroom.

      ZEO900 It's still note worthy. It has a bunch if ingredients you can use. And not to mention if you're going to do s mage character, you're probably going to start the Winterhold quests as soon as you find Whiterun stables.

    not gonna lie i'm surprised you didnt add in the potion of waterbreathing in this. its a difficult potion to get all the materials for but it GREATLY increases your skill in alchemy. alchemy(assuming people dont already know) is leveled up by the value of the potion being made, by using nordic barnacle cluster, salmon roe, and garlic you make a potion of waterbreathing that with no perks is worth around 2000 right off the bat and gives amazing stats. i think i had one perk in the first alchemy slot and it had something along the lines of able to breath underwater for 330 seconds, along with other effects. at max level and all perks acquired it can make a potion worth around 12000. using this potion can also level up speechcraft as well since speechcraft experience is gained by the value of the item sold, whether or not you get the exact gold amount. if you sell an item for 150,000 gold you will get that in experience even if the seller only had 5000 to give you.
    another easy potion to make that will level alchemy pretty quickly is a potion made from mora tapinella, creep cluster, and scaly pholiota. i cant remember what potion they make but the reason its a good way to level up alchemy is because of the fact that all three are growable with the hearthfire addon. you can easily gain massive amounts in a very short time frame leading to more potions made and more xp.

    It's worth mentioning that Garlic becomes a very useful component later on. Garlic has both regen health and regen magic, so you can combo it with salt and another regen health item (forgot what I commonly use, though)for 5 minutes of jacked up regeneration per potion.

    • @Hexium_Vexium
      @Hexium_Vexium 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is true. I have a small list of helpful Alchemy recipes, and Garlic + Salt Pile + Vampire Dust is one of the things on my list for this very reason. (That being said, Vampire Dust can be tricky to obtain if you aren't buying it from an alchemist, so new players beware: you're pretty much guaranteed to get the Dust off of... well, vampires.)
      Another Regen Health potion combination I'm quite fond of is Luna Moth Wing and Vampire Dust. Combining the two gives you not just a Regen Health Potion, but they both have Invisibility effects, as well. I've found it useful for getting out of a pinch when my health is low and I'm, for whatever reason, out of normal Restore Health Potions. Really works great if you're a stealth class, too; dropping into stealth after drinking it means they start looking for you again, and if you wait long enough, you can get the stealth bonus damage again.

    Luna moths are guaranteed to spawn just in front of the orphanage in Riften and will do so after being harvested, bug spawns aren't time dependent and will come back just from walking far enough away, and it doesn't decrease your maximum magicka to make invisibility with chaurus eggs and luna moth wings it does damage to your magicka, ie it reduces the current (not maximum) value similar to having cast a spell.

    Blue Butterfly Wing + Blue Mountain Flower + Giant's Toe = Fast alchemy leveling potion and speech booster (due to the extremely high value of the potion without purity). Really useful if you have any form of merchant mod that increases the amount of ingredients they carry or a mod that allows you to harvest more toes from giants, as Giant's Toe is hard to find. But do know that you shouldn't have the purity perk for this potion. The awesome price comes from all of the effects in the potion being boosted by the Giant's Toe, bloating the price.

      Blue butterfly + Blue mountain flower + wheat is also a good combo too as the first two are easy to find and Arcadia always sells loads of wheat. If you play on pc you can simply get merchants to restock by saving your game after you've bought all their stock, quitting to desktop and restarting.

      Purchase Windstad Manor : the advantages is has the only fish hatchery for Abecean Longfin, and Cyrodilic Spadetail, it also draws Orange Dartwings and Blue Dartwings . Create a garden for harvesting wheat, creepy clusters, blistertwort. Add non garden items, giant toe, sabre cat tooth, Chaurus Eggs, Spriggan Sap, Salt Pile, Glowing Mushroom just to start. Everyone knows the process to mix your ingredients, remove aromor, drink potion, put on your armor and mix your ingredients again. It helps if your armor ( gauntlet, helmet, ring, and necklace are enchanted to 25%) . I usually start with Wheat, Giant Toe, and Creepy Cluster alot of it ... with Abecean Longfin, Cyrodilic Spadetail, and Salt Pile about 50 of each to be safe. Mix the first 3 your alchemy begins to build ... use the next 3 and you will start leveling up, use your percks . I only use 3 Alchemist, Physician, and Benefactor. Mixing Abecean Longfin, Cyrodilic Spadetail, and Salt Pile fortifies restoration ... if you have a double enchantment on your ring such as carry weight ... I try to get up to 1mill ... or a little less ... too much could effect you shout cool down or not allow you to use your shout because the cool down is too large. I suggest to keep the ring as a part of your main armor ... this will allow you to mix additional restoration potions is you choose to change your armor, it also enhances any armor or weapon. For example I mix both dragonflies ... which allow me to sneak at 400,000% which means I'm invisible to everything. You can play some of you have some great ideas ...Blisterwort and Wheat is good for health ... you might not need it if your enchant your armor for health after you mix the above.

    The most consistent place that I've found Luna Moth is right outside my Lakeview Manor Home. I get 1, 2, even 3 outside over the animal pen EVERY night. The torchbugs are even more common there around half dozen per day. It's my favorite player home on Skyrim. The free player home in Raven Rock is also a favorite. While it has no garden, it does have Alchemy, Enchanting AND full service smithing stations including a smelter! And it's free! It's very close to Tel Mythrin which has one of the better Alchemy shops in the game.

    the fortify restoration pot is actually "fortify enchant effects" for some reason, and I've seen instances of exploiting it using a feedback loop between the enchants and multiple fortify restoration pots, and once you get past 100% strength, the potions you subsequently create would exponentially increase in strength. Using those and then creating a different potion would buff that potion tremendously. Using this knowledge to grant yourself unlimited power is very possible, and in fact, easy. For example, another set of gear being enchanted with an insanely buffed enchanting potion and fortify alchemy, would effectively make the ability to create these forbidden potions at any time, permanently, and enchanting gear under its influence with other effects like health, mana, stamina, or smithing just breaks the game.

    • @pragavirtual
      @pragavirtual 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Be aware that exploiting the resto loop will make the game kinda broke, affter a few loops you get superpowered and can 1 hit kill anything wich for me isnt nice.
      Instead just making a good set of 5 pieces fortify alchemy will already make strong potions that can fortify smithing and enchanting and making gear with near armor rating caps at early game ish. IM a lvl 50 with 80ish alchemy and can already make potions that worth more than 1k gold each...

  • @ethankrutzkamp5819
    @ethankrutzkamp5819 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Alchemy is one of the most useful skills in the game due to the fact that you can use it in so many different ways. Including the restoration loop. You can also use it do get speech 100 by selling 1 potion. ( Power leveling) this also occurs by doing the restoration loop. Also you can get smithing 100 by upgrading a dagger once by just drinking 1 potion. (resto loop). Vice versa with enchanting. Alchemy is literally the gateway to every important perk tree in the game. Sidenote: You can do the resto loop starting at Alchemy level 40 you just gotta have the first 3 perks, then benefactor then the one to the left of it. Making it OP.

A few people mentioned Giants toe+wheat grass in the comment section, however, a potion I have been making on my new legendary survival no mods or exploits playthrough is histcarp+salmon roe. Making these potions with a well rested bonus and the thief stone activated has leveled my alchemy significantly in the early game phase. Currently about level 11 with 50+ alchemy.

    Nightshade + Deathbell = Damage Health (Add thistle branch for ravage stamina or giant lichen for weakness to poison)
    Mora Tapinella, Imp Stool and Deathbell will make a potion of Lingering AND Instant damage health, killing opponents now AND later.
    Don't forget, potions of damage health with deathbell or river betty in them are more powerful than normal.
    Also, dragonflies can most often be found hovering over water, and anywhere that you see a dragonfly, there will be a school of alchemical fish (like histcarp and river betty) in the water just underneath them, every time.

    For a great start on a new playthrough:
    1. Go to Riften, loot all barrels. You will get around 100 salt piles
    2. Go to Morthal, gather a shitload of Deathbells from the swamp around it
    3. Go to Solitude, from catacombs you will get around 70 hanging moss
    4. Pick up all blue mountain flowers as you travel, they are everywhere
    Both Deathbell+Salt and BMF+Hanging Moss produce very valuable potions, yielding 1000's of gold right from the beginning.
