BNC London: Cronje Q&A - Coalition and electoral challenges post-May 29

- At the BizNews Conference in London, Frans Cronje discussed the ANC's electoral prospects, the influence of Jacob Zuma, and the dynamics between the ANC and EFF. He analysed the ANC's strategic behaviour and potential alliances, emphasizing the pragmatic and cautious approach the party often takes. Cronje highlighted the complexities within the ANC and its resistance to extreme leftist policies, suggesting that despite internal and external challenges, a complete collapse of the ANC or South African governance is unlikely. He also addressed the implications for smaller parties and the potential for future political and economic recovery in South Africa.

Always look forward to Dr frans cronje insights
Frans Cronje is one of the best political analysts. I wish the political leaders would listen to him.
I like how he answers.
Mr biggest take away from this talk is the impressive South African Society relevant to the world. Somehow that has been our saving grace everytime we are on the brink of a precipice even though we have a propensity to self destruct.
Whatever the outcome, the next party to step into office will have a really hard time recovering the losses that the ANC has accrued over 30 years.
It will take a few generations.
Not true...the ANC has been struggling to fix what generations of Apartheid damaged...so you have no idea what you are talking about
Thank you for your excellent analysis !
Babe wake up, a new Frans Cronje video just dropped!
This man understands SA politics better than any one els💯 He scared the sh!t out of me on this video, but I can never be more great full for the heads up🫡
Brill analysis!
I hope he's badly wrong about the ANC getting a high percentage. That means the majority of our people support corruptiom
One of the most valueable lessons I've learned is that 'hope is not a strategy' and that history shows that the majority of people, when faced with the unknown, will opt for irrationality over logic. It doesn't matter who wins in SA with global dynamics changing at their current rate. Imo
In eastern cape they lovely people but uneducated poor and said they have to vote ANC because they the only party that will give grants and young girl said i am unemployed and have to feed my child.
They not happy with ANC but ANC lie and do fear mongering evil
A lot People will be shocked next week...
Frogs in a pot of water slowly being brought to a boil are never shocked…
This Frans Cronje guy defines South Africa's moment in a very compelling way. Either way time will tell.
Very insightful
2024 is just another step in a long journey. Agreed that it might be easier to try view this election in isolation but if we view our country on a 30 year timeline. These elections should be seen as the beginning of a transition and not a do-or-die scenario, which ever way the polls reflect on 29 May nothing will come right or fall apart in a day.
Well said
100% - Amazing comment!
Can't wait to come back to this page after 29 May just to have a laugh
Let me know how that laugh is going?
@@jo-annecombrink331 you are stark between a rock and other thing if you catch my drift. you counted your chickens before they hatched but then again it is typical of you, 😂😂 let wait and see who laughs last since coalition talk are about to begin. Your favorite party is about to form a coalition with people you loathe. how is that for a plot twist
how is the laugh going?
@@jo-annecombrink331 hahahhahahhaha. im also waiting for an answer
@@lumumbamyeza5846 Still going. i suspect that you think i was rooting for the ANC DOlolo🤣
How do we pressurize the ANC into prosecuting corrupt cadres? That is where I would start to fix the country.
That is a solid start
it's not possible since they are all implicated in some kind of corrupt dealings.
@@fridgemagnet9831 that attitude is the wrong one to have
@@LukeDyani-rh3zd it’s just an assessment of the situation, I wish things were different . If they fix the NPA and bring back the Scorpions they the same people who will get caught. They will charge some “small fish” just to show the public they do something about corruption.
Why don't you lead by example and start prosecuting the corrupt DA in George where the building collapsed ????
I literally needed to pause the video by 8:39 , just to relax and take a breath😮💨😖, I absolutely love Cronje’s interviews, this man has taught me everything I know about SA politics, this video how ever scared the living sh!t out of me…. I now know RP is the only guarantee I have on a future for my 2y, 1y old children… I must see Cape Independence come to fruition, even if it’s the last thing I do🚶🏻🫡
This is the most honest opinion very thought through 💪🏿
Data mining analysis do that to a person. It made people feel very uncomfortable when he asked what replaces the ANC?
If you don't have experience in international relations and security intelligence. You will be shoked how many international crooks are out there and how you were protected.
Indeed, after the results come out, we need to direct it slowly. Every sane person in SA needs to buy in to what the leaders decide

Dr Frans C sort of hits the nail on the head but still praying for a miracle .
PA good manifesto but he let DA down 4x and seems to do coalitions with ANC and EFF thats worrying
Ask yourself whether it would have served the country better if the medical industry had actually initiated a public but disclosive campaign to integrate state and private care.
Free at the point of service ( to those who cannot pay)
NHS in the UK is a joke as it exists..
Coalition has never worked amongst the parties they still scramble for power ignoring the poignant value of working for the public
While I don't doubt this, you guys seem to forget how good ruling parties are at keeping their consistent voters. Zuma is not a factor at allllll. This seems more hopeful than realistic, we hope Zuma takes ANC and EFF votes. Does this mean the day Zuma said I am back, EFF people ran and said F-it we are going for Zuma, Zuma takes Zulu voters who were not interested in voting not EFF voters. No way Zuma gets 10% unless KZN is now the whole of SA.
An unbiased, measured opinion
58%
Please understand that SA is done for.
This is Not due to their backyard political leaders only ....
But he really never finishes answering questions though
France, brilliant analysis and research❤
People underestimate Julu Malema, drove into Stellenbosch from the Distell aka Heineken Beverage side and the only posters put up was that of the EFF,Juju is going to rule Stellenbosch😂😂😂
they know that, they are just in denial
O EFF will not rule Stellenbosch nor the DA
Too horrible to even THINK of...
The popularity of Zuma is as much a risk to SA as crime
Welcome to a real-politic ANC-DA Alliance, 38 + 17 = 55% minimum with the Economy, Finance, Infrastructure & Security Ministries under DA's responsibility !❤
DA know what they doing. This is depressing news that ANC and EFF could ve our leaders.
. Glad you said vite DA.
10/15 years realistic but depressing. Many will try immigrate in that case. Under DA fine but under ANC and EFF ww can look forward to another Zimbabwe but communist . Sigh
Surely ramaphosa would boost the country and the ANC by appointing competent untainted ministers
sorry...he puts anc before SA ... OLD THIEF!
😅😅😅
There aren't any of those ministers in the ANC government
Shout out to Eskom 😍🤩
I love good sarcasm
Good one
This is one of the most critical times for South Africa. What are you doing in London analysing South Africa? So out of touch.
But anc is now supporting the east I see trouble
Stop making a fool of yourself....they are doing that since 1994 ....
Show they be supporting the West 🤔🤔🤔
@@acappella1983we dont need the west because South Africans love to be a BRICS country. We want to stand with Russia and China
Sedition in plain view 😂
I don't agree with Frans. I don't see the MK party at 10%.
I see MK around 4%- 8%.
Frans has an opinion based on his interpretation of the information available to him, and so do you. We will know how much support MK has in 8/9 days from today !
Based on what ?
@johansnyman6864 It's actually 6/7 days from today.
France relies heavily on SRF and it's linked to DA. So, it's wise to conclude that it's a DA propaganda poll. It has consistently put the DA near the 30 mark.
@@kennethward2537 On reality on the ground.
Yes....closer to 4 than 8...
These so called "analysts" they are so arrogant and have no real understanding of the majority of SA.... yet their points are so highly regarded as gospel...
Most likely outcome is a ANC + EFF or MK coalition... If these account for 60% to 65% of the vote, the rest of the other parties are fighting for crumbs
No , it depends on what % ANC gets.
ANC looking like it will get around 45% so it won't need either EFF of MK to rule.
1313
actually not too bad - getting some reality - ANC FOREVER
We will rather vote MK to ensure that we will not be ruled by Americans again. And I know a lot off people living in Western Cape voting MK
So wena ufuna ukuvotela ifamily Stokvel?😂😂
The Americans are not ruling us baba
@@sibusisodube6835silam still thinks that Zuma cares about his voters. He uses them to steal more money

This man just undermined The MK constituents intellect
But guys why there is so much hate fir the EFF. How is MK taking EFF supporters because the people who love Zuma hate EFF for removing him in the presidency.
Stop asking stupid questions
In my mind and experience there is forsure no real democracy in SA but rather Communism
Ha fucking ha !!!! Go educate yourself....Dom Doos !!!!
What happened to Matric Domkop John Steenhuisen and his Moon Domkoppe ???
The doos is nowhere to be seen ....or is he having another affair ???😮😮😮
He is campaigning are you living under a rock
Problem with Steenhuize he is in favor of America and all small parties that we wanted to vote for went into coalitions with DA. Only thing left is voting MK
@@silam2329 your precious Juju is in favour of Italians
Does your brain actually function?
your last braincell is faulty
I think the EFF is underestimated in this election by the DA poll led by France Cronje called SRF.
Substantiate your view?
Your research method and data?
Or just your own 'thumsuck'?
Go to school ...?
True,I drove into Stellenbosch yesterday and the only posters on show was Julius Malema😂😂😂 he will rule in Stellenbosch
You can really tell that he's very bearish when it comes to EFF, of course he has to serve his master.
@sanchokhau5496 They're trying all by means to spin their propaganda to make EFF & MK enemies. Hence, he says MK is directly eating the EFF, not the ANC.
@@Spyk27632citizens is gatvol for parties like DA..EFF..and ANC. We vote MK
Helicopter view analysis and term in - term out, they wonder how they got it wrong... the only way to understand how the majority voters think/feel and thus, how they will vote is to be on the ground. You don't need to be too academic, just be observant.
The MK is not gonna take much of the EFFs vote, MK voters are largely ANC voters who are disgruntled with how the Zuma issue was handled, how the Umkhonto weSizwe was disbanded, and also how Cyril Ramaphosa runs the organization. So, the ANC will shed most of their votes.
I would even say in KZN, the MK will affect the IFP even more than the EFF, more so now with the departing of Chief Mangosuthu Buthelezi, President Zuma is seen and respected as a Senior Zulu Leader than Velenkosini Hlabisa.
EFF voters are largely people who were disgruntled with Zuma and how Julius Malema was chased out of the ANC, they are not gonna leave Juju for Zuma in large number.
But also, another point you are missing is how the EFF and MK can combine their vote to have a larger leverage against the ANC in negotiations after elections.
We are going to vote the ANC back in power, till this opposition sort out their messy relationship.
No we vote MK in Western Cape
@@silam2329 even after all the corruption? You realize the corruption and outdated policies are making you poorer? Why don’t you give Rise Mzansi or ActionSA a chance? Surely you see that the country will only deteriorate further under ANC? I’m not even going to start about MK, they will steal only for their families not for you! Please think about your families future for gods sake
That's why we need to get the MPC in. They set their egos aside to work together and save this country
