"We didn't make Secretariat, he made us" Charlie Davis
I hate they use whips on these horses.. notice there was inly 2 whips used on Secretariat.. Was pissed when I seen it he did not need it. None of them do. This is the problem I have with horse racing. It’s cruel
Praying American Pharoah breaks the triple crown curse!!!
***** Like the late great Jackie Gleason would say, how sweet it is!
He just did it! American Pharaoh broke the 37-year drought!!
Don't pray, it happened
Lucky # 13
I just heard that Justify may be brought out of retirement next year to race in the Breeders Cup Classic?
Secretariat for president
what about ruffain, who broke some of Secretariat, records and won the Philly triple crown
She was also known in racing as a "freak of nature" she was huge for not just a filly but as a 2 year old she was so large most thought she was a stud colt. Most people don't realize that until she broke down, she was winning. She lead every race she ran, including against Foolish Pleasure.
Ruffian either met or broke the race or track record in 9 of her 10 races. Lucian Lauren once said when he seen her in person that she might be better than Secretariat, that’s saying something!!!
No horse was ever tougher in the stretch than Affirmed. He tended to run just fast enough to win his races.
For the announcer, the racegoers and the historians the line needs to be changed to "he's moving like a well oiled machine"
Please rewrite all the historical writings about Secretariat and tell them parkerbohnn aka Tommy Tutalidge says it's "well oiled machine" not tremendous machine.
No thanks! It's authentic. Peace and light 😊
And we have winner number #13 Justified
tsukune007 it’s justify
heart twice as big
I guess they have to make a new documentary now that American Pharoah won the Triple Crown!
+Genuine Risk Love your "name!" My friend & I screamed so loudly while watching Genny win the Derby that the guys next door broke into my house armed with baseball bats, to "save" us! I'm sort of glad she was beaten fairly in the Belmont; if she hadn't been, that SOB Cordero's having blatantly (IMO) fouled her on Codex in the Preakness would be much, much tougher to live with.
After today they'll have to add both American Pharaoh and Justify
2 new ones American Pharaoh in 2015 and Justified 2018. both under the same trainer,
Alysheba should be Triple Crown Winner #12. McCarron admits today he was scared to death on Alysheba during his Belmont. At least he has the guts to admit he blew it for the horse. Van Berg told McCarron before the Race the horse would be in front the entire Race. McCarron was white as a ghost, Van Berg knew it was over then. Owners of Alysheba should've put Pat Day on Alysheba for the Belmont!!
N. .
Nice!!!!
Seattle slew defeated affirmed in his come back race
Let’s not forget a great horse Big Brown who really would’ve down it all in good fashion if it was for injuries
Blew away the competition!!!!!!!
I had the privilege to own a pure bred mare who was a granddaughter of his. What a beautiful mare she was. I never ran her and she never was run, hm.
Granddaughter of who?
Secretariat is the GREATEST horse ever n he was a hero too.
This was made in 2003. The very next year Smarty Jones came one leg short in the Belmont. I hit the trifecta and was at the actual Derby when Smarty Jones hit. Those who'd like to know the Derby experience is overrated even when you hit the trifecta
Why not just name this video “Secretariat” 😒
Everyone says what amazing race too watch but does anybody think what goes on behind the dark truth they hide about what happened too the race horses after they don't win anymore races or get injured so horses are only young horses or thoroughbreds that have race before with markings on them the owners sent them too auction then sent too the slaughter house plus these owners are never punished or prosecuted for they actions or cruelty because they know they can get away with it plus they need too feel pain like the horses do
I bet you eat hamburgers, ribs and wings.
Take your animal "rights" b.s. and stick it.
Go cry somewhere eles
Why CANONERO II is missing from the list?
He was not a triple crown winner 🏇🐴🐎
Poor Sham!
SECRETARIAT WAS SUPER GREAT !!!!!!!😮!No shade on Sham - he was a good horse and Sham didn’t brag on hisself , lol, unfortunately Sham faded to last in the Belmont because his jockey realized he was badly injured and that ended his racking ccareer 😢, poor Sham . Also poor Secretariat died from a fatal hoof desease later on in his life !!!
Megan Woodard American Pharoah,if you don't already know.
Big Kitty:) Been following his run since the derby, I'm hoping he wins!!! Lots of hype and incredible praise for him from some very highly respected people in horse racing.
Megan Woodard
Now he has
LIKE MAXIMUM SECURITY
Bob got it with American pharaoh and justify
Still HATE The Crop.
I hate that the owner of Citation was so F-ing greedy that he forced Citation to run for 4-5 years. Rather than retiring him and let him live out the rest of his life doing what he loves.
I don't like the Spectacular Bid story (blame it on the jockey)... but what do I know? I'm just a big fan, but no expert...
Johnny Campo. Looked and sounded like a mafia boss.
31 lengths, 31…
No other horse could get close to him.
Poor Alydar was murdered!
Yeah...and they were only charged with insurance fraud. GO FIGURE.
Yes... terrible... disgusting
Wonderful Secretariat
I passed 4 and came back for #4
Chills
Seattle Slew was form Secretariat!!
check your facts, not by Secretariat, but the dams had similar lines.
Seattle Slew was by a grandson of Bold Ruler. Bold Ruler was the sire of Secretariat. Both also trace to Princequillo on their dam's side of the family. My Charmer dam of Seattle Slew was a great granddaughter of Princequillo where as Secretariat's dam was by Princequillo.
I feel bad watching this, so I'm out. But not before I say there will *never* be another Big Red! He rose above the cruel and petty world of racing and propelled himself to immortality.
Yes, he knew racing against him was pointless.
Penny surprises me with her comments she is way off, yea she owned the horse but she did not describe what happened correctly in either of the 4 races, the wood he had a boil in his upper lip and could not bite the bit and it was extremely painful and they found it after the race so her bs is just shocking
Did you see the difference between Sham and Secretariat? Secretariat was twice the width as Sham. That poor guy never stood a chance!
Sham was a special horse, but no match, no horse could compete with secretariat.
True.
Was The Triple Crown a thing when man o war was alive? If so,he would've won.Hes one of the greatest racehorses of all time!
Sam Riddle, his owner, looked down on "Western" tracks and refused to enter him. Greed overcame snobbery when War Admiral came on.
@@jaychatterji317 Not true. MoW's owner didn't believe racing a horse that distance when he was that young, according to the Wikipedia page and multiple other sources. Had he decided to enter him, I'd bet almost anything MoW would've swept the Derby.
I think the derby and preakness were only a week apart back then. Eligible horses would run one or the other.
Yes, and Man O'War would have won it. The only other horse who comes any where close to him is Secretariat. Man O'Wars ' owner felt that early May was too early in the year to risk his health. What a shame!!!
@@alexisunangst761 In his day, yes.
🤗👍👍
Secretariat is my favorite racehorse
They call Secretariat royalty but nothing princely about Seattle Slew. Absolutely not true, they had a sire in common. A French bred colt by the name of Princequillo, who was shipped to England to save him and his dam from the Nazis.
