how well does this fair with gravity feed? i had the idea of catching rain water in a 2" pipe, and fitting these into a 3" section of pipe in the middle of the line so the medium cant leave its section, and just drop rain water through it down to the tank.

Pond came with house. Has blue and Grey filters in it, 8 of them. Keeps backing up and leaking every few days. Wring filter media? Too much algae?
