As an experienced appliance sales professional and engineer, I agree with many of these choices. I would still stay away from Samsung appliances. A bigger fan of Kitchen Aid or especially Bosch.
I used to have a Defy. I bought a Bosch a few weeks ago thinking I'm buying a great brand. What a bloody dissapointment. I had suspicions that the reseller sold me a floor model, as a brand new fridge. But Bosch head office said I bought a cheaper fridge-freezer so I shouldn't expect too much from this fridge. It's not even their cheapest option. What a dissapointment. Their fridge-freezers aren't cheap, even though its not the most expensive option in their line up. But it's still not cheap. Im extremely dissapointed in the Bosch brand. I dont know if the reseller tried to get rid of an old fridge or whether Bosch tried to ignore my situation at first... but considering that they all tried to convince me its a brand new fridge, then the quality was horrible. Ps. the model number showed the fridge was manufactured almost 5 years ago.
Marketing. It adds a bright red color which is the most used color in the food industry. So if the food "looks" good, then the fridge must be doing a great job of keeping it good.

Why do fridge ads always show tomatoes inside, when every one says never put tomatoes in the fridge?
