Lots of derogatory comments on here. Mostly from idiots. The drummer, of golden palominos, Anton fier died recently, I remember buying this lp in 86, and thru this, getting into moby grape.
Golden Palominos made some wonderful music. This just isn't their best. And it's not that this song is so bad - it's just way, way less than the sum of its parts. The exploding-snare-drum mix did sound a lot better in 1985 when that fad was peaking.
actually on this tune, only Anton Fier - Drums Bill Laswell - Bass Henry Kaiser - Guitars Chris Stamey - guitar, piano, background vocal Michael Stipe - Vocals
I don't know, I kinda like the darker edge of this one that seems to fit the lyrics a little better, or so it seems to me, but yeah Moby Grape vastly underrated
@@rockobill7637 I went back with what I felt was an open mind to listen again. Had it been done straight I might feel different, but then there would have been no reason to cover it as I feel it was done perfectly by Grape.
Thank you for uploading.
You can sure tell it was mixed by the drummer.
haha yes I get that
Henry Kaiser rocks.
Steve Vai transcribed Henry's solo, and you can see it on page 56 of the May 1985 issue of Down Beat magazine.

7 guitars on this tune. Is it enough?
actually on this tune, only
Anton Fier - Drums
Bill Laswell - Bass
Henry Kaiser - Guitars
Chris Stamey - guitar, piano, background vocal
Michael Stipe - Vocals
If you say so
This bites. They do Moby Grape a great disservice.
this is some kind of remix this is not like it sounds on the GP album or single as I recall.

Everyone’s a bloody critic
Insulting to Moby Grape!
OK version but not as good as the original.
So, the took one of the best songs of the 1960s and turned it into a festering pile of dog shit. Ugh.
Suit yourself. I love the original, but think this one's even better.
