I will probably choose Arenal. Both are great nature and hiking places. The hot springs experience is quite unique in Arenal!

I haven't been to royal corin. By looking at the photos from their website, it seems to be much smaller than tabacon.
Jan would be a great time to visit Costa Rica. The weather should be pretty good. Have fun!
