      @cooltoy im planning on getting 1 VR pinball atm...because or...the same issue u are having..ROOM...i have 15 arcade1up machines and dead in the middle of my custom mario kart machine...and have only a few open slots left....so...one VR pinball atm will do...i need u to help me out..WHICH ONE.....at games or arcade1up VR pinball...? that much larger playing field has me leaning towards at games...but if their is more bells and whistles etc on arcade1up ones id go that way...but YOU have your hands on both...i need a direction here.

      Yea you can connect a PC through the HDMI and USB ports and run just about anything you can imagine. Some things will have back glass support and some things won't it's all a case by case basis. I was playing Addams Family just last night on the machine.

    This vs the 1up? I think that will be the most important question for potential buyers. We know the obvious stuff like size/tables/price but how is the actual gameplay experience? Which one feels more real/immersive?

  • @gopooalreadyplease5842
    @gopooalreadyplease5842 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    It sometimes looks “floaty” on the ball physics and sometimes not. Is this something you noticed on certain tables? It just feels like the ball rolls slower than it should down towards the flippers. I also would like to see support later on with a third screen under the “backglass” for a DMD screen. That way you can play more modern titles. Looks very promising though!

    wow, as someone who built a virtual pinball machine At Games really outdid themselves here. I would highly recommend it to anyone from what I'm seeing here. Thanks for the review CT. In addition to the issues you raised, there are a few cosmetic and easily fixed. (1) NEED chrome bezel, lockdown bar and legs! Why black/gray? (2) Need a standard square CHROME plunger trim, why gold? (3) Can we lose the front apron and move the playfield closer to lockdown bar? Other than those, looks like a great future proof cab!

    interesting about the bolt issue you had, my ALU 1.0 last year had a similar issue with one of the screws being wrong. I contacted them and sent a picture showing the wrong screws I had received and they mailed the correct part fairly quickly. Would have been nice if they were standard though so you could just go down to the nearest hardware store instead. At least the customer service was good and responsive though.

    Brother that Link to the Past shirt is everything. This table looks amazing and I have patiently been waiting for your review and you knocked it out of the park once yet again. I was worried about the performance of the exciters but again its something that can be fixed with firmware so not a huge deal. Everything looks great from watching your stream and review so hopefully we will have access to these in April through the Brick in Canada and i can get my hands on one finally. Cant wait to see the comparison video. I did have a question, is it possible to add games like A Nightmare on Elm Street to the table through a pc and if so could you somehow get the backglass to work too?

    • @cooltoy
      @cooltoy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Link to the past was the only reason I ever wanted a Super Nintendo growing up. Nightmare on Elm Street will be easy enough to add while connected to a PC, the back glass support would be something AtGames would need to troubleshoot and figure out how to support, but I honestly don't think that would be too difficult for them to achieve, so I would expect the answer to be Yes at some future point.

    Excellent review... I'll echo the interest in a head-to-head comparison.
    The execution and extensibility of the AtGames unit make it a standout but the table licensing is a definite drawback. It may also be the video capture vs. first hand experience but the ball itself seems floaty and some of the table graphics appear to have a fair bit of aliasing - easy enough to address if they actually exist.

    I want to play all my Pinball Arcade tables on this and start getting into the VP9 ones too. Basically you have to build a higher end PC to connect to ? I like how the graphics on this pinball machine make the tables look realistic. I understand this screen is 1080p 60f, but I am curious if this is comparable to A1ups pinball graphics? The Atgames tables look very realistic where I felt A1ups tables look a little more cartoony maybe? How would you compare the games graphic detail between both pinball machines? Does the At Games have more 3D depth, cleaner graphics? Are both tables similar in graphics. I am more drawn to purchasing the AFM A1up table and hope the graphics look as realistic as this At games table looks. Thanks!

    It's great to hear this machine is as amazing as AtGames's other Arcade offerings. That's what makes it so disheartening that they haven't figured out how to mass produce enough of their products to meet demand yet. And with the pandemic, I can't see it coming out soon for general purchase. I could be wrong though and hopefully that's the case.

    Now if only if this machine was actually available to buy. Sadly, it doesn't look like that will happen any time before summer, perhaps later. Head-to-head, the atgames wins (assuming it works) - it's larger, has more games, has wifi, and is built to be up-gradable. But it's also $250 more expensive if you count shipping ($300 more than the ATTACK FROM MARS machine). It's somewhat like comparing the toyshock HAUNTED HOUSE game to the STAR WARS/MARVEL game - that $250 price difference means a lot. Love your show BTW.....

      @Daniel Diehl Atgames decided that it was more important to ship first to TH-camrs rather than customers. I’m also in wave 1 and I’m on the same boat. Cooltoy keeps bringing up the fact that he paid for the pinball machines, it doesn’t matter he got the special privilege. Atgames missed on this and no TH-camr that has a pinball is talking about it since they sold their soul to Atgames. Don’t expect any harsh reviews for Atgames any time soon.

    Great review! I'm still torn between this or the Attack From Mars cabinet. I think with this machine I would go down the rabbit hole modding and seeing what cool things I can make it do vs. the other where I would just turn it on and play pinball as intended. Which machine do you enjoy more?

    • @cooltoy
      @cooltoy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I enjoy both my Arcade1Up and AtGames machines, can't go wrong with either in my opinion at this price point. I refrain for comparing the two machines or holding one above the other, as it's not an apples to apples comparison between the two units.

  • @TiltingT
    @TiltingT 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The scoring and intials issues are due to the different era of games.. Games like Centrigrade 37 being electromechanical games in real life do not offer an option for initials, so the initials on these games would be on the playfield screen.. Where games like Rescue 911 are DMD (DotMatrix Display) games and offer the option in the real life.. Blackhole being a solid state game have the scoring displays just like that in real life and are smaller displays than DMD or EM games.. so it basically comes doen to the era of the game on those options and are the exact same way on The Pinball Arcade game that these tables were taken from

    • @cooltoy
      @cooltoy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      depending on the content being streamed, not all games/software out there have virtual tables to have second screen display/cabinet mode options. This machine however is more than capable of running dual monitors from a PC connected to the HDMI input on the table.
