I did this about a month ago it works great. They dont seem to have any of the screens on Amazon anymore with the monitor shortage out of china. But im glad you made the video ive been giving people instructions on this for a few weeks im glad you made a video now i can just send them a link.👍
it's really been unfortunate with the screen shortage out of China these past few months. Between that and the graphics card shortage going round, prices are sky rocketing.

Would this DMD screen work with the video board sold by Atgames? Im just a little confused by how you get all three displays working via otg with the right displays fitting on each when using fx3 or virtual pinball.
@Cooltoy, Hey Doug, just following up on OTG and a comment posted on your previous video. I was able to get plunger working by using x360ce. Works with Pinball FX2 & 3, Future Pinball and Visual Pinball. It's kinda weird and long and involved. Had to map plunger to the the left and right analog sticks in order to make it work with all emulators. Also had to setup an 50% Anti-Dead zone on both in order to get full range on the plunger. Also still need to use xpadder (or joy2key) to map nudge in Future Pinball. Also Also, on some Future Pinball tables the plunger doesn't come back with enough force to launch the ball, wonder if it is the way some tables are made...... Anyway, it's a lot off weirdness to setup but it is possible and it works pretty well once set up. Let me know if you have any questions. But yeah, check out x360ce, maybe it could work for you, or anyone else reading this have problems getting OTG working with their PC.
Mr. Cool Toy, is there an extension for the ribbon cable on the monitor to the board that you know of ? The ribbon cable on my monitor is VERY short , and I already mounted my Vibs board at center . So need a little more leangh to go around it ! 😖
Stupid question .. How do you get Input to the dmd ? I have a vibs board My laptop has only 1 hdmi out. How do I get the upper display, Playfield , and dmd to all work ?
I’ve seen a lot of added DMDs where it fills the screen like yours, but does so by stretching the source vertically. Is this something that plugging into this screen does automatically? Or can you adjust the Aspect Ratio of the DMD?
@@cooltoy you should resized more, the aspect ratio is incorrect. There should be horizontal black bars on the top and the bottom. If you can get the aspect ratio right this will look real pro.
Doug what size/long length ribbon cable could I buy that would be compatible with my DMD screen and allow me to just lift the backup up after I've unscrewed everything so I can just slide the cable underneath the backbox and connect it the board? Thanks so much for your help!

Hi Cooltoy, how many outputs do you have on your pc ? I’m being told that I need 3 : One to dmd One to vibs card One to top left front of playfield? Is that true? How does this work for all the laptops out there that I know only have one hdmi output and have this running ?
@@gagcar you shouldn’t be trying to use a laptop for a virtual pinball pc setup. You won’t have enough power to properly play the games and display multiple screens simultaneously.
looks great CoolToy. do you know if AtGames will come out with a upgraded machine with more mods? I would pay for more bigger screen and dmd and extra bells and whistles. you need a good quality pinball to play the VPX tables
I'm sure they will have their own upgraded parts and pieces available at a later date. Whether or not they choose to make a completely new upgraded machine is still up in the air I imagine.

So with the vibs board, this lcd screen and a pc hooked up running fx3, is it possible to have all 3 displays (dmd screen for score and animations, backglass for artwork and of course main screen for playfield) all displayed at the same time? Would that still require 2 or 3 hdmi outs from the pc?

That's pretty Awesome CoolToy, have you tried JP's mod of STERN Avengers? He's literally changed it to look like the comic variant. Same with the STERN Spider-Man mod.
Is it not possible to just loosen the back box and lift it to slide the cable under then just re-tighten the back box? I don't have any experience with this type of cable so I don't really know how delicate they are but as long as the back box isn't cutting into the cable I would think it would be fine and require no cutting of the back box. OMG..the poor ALP. What did you do Douglas? Why can't you just slip it under the hole? I think I'll stick with my DMD I slip under the hole till atgames figure out the backglass hdmi hot switch situation. Don't wanna be making any holes till there are more options with the backglass and dmd screen.
Hello! What male to male USB cable are you using and the length? Many reports are it does not work well at all. I'm going to post this to others as well.
Since they're already cables coming from the front left for USB & HDMI: I just used doublesided velcro tape and mounted my Fire HD8 tablet (same size and resolution as the one you have) to the back between the speakers so no cutting, drilling, taking the tablet apart etc etc. A lot easier than what you did - but I do have one cable coming from the side of the Tablet to give it constant power. I trust you had to adjust the table settings to move the DMD from the backglass to the tablet? And not sure how you're accessing it - Spacedesk maybe (that's what I'm using).
Nah there's nothing about the settings on the video. I was asking what settings you're using cause I am trying to get it to work with Spacedesk as well. Just not having any luck with getting the DMD to display on my tablet...

The link for the WIMAXIT 8" monitor goes to a product page for a 7" monitor. Is that the same one used? It's also 1024x600 and not 1280x800 mentioned in the video. Whatever screen was used in the video looked perfect to me, so I'd love to make sure I got the exact same thing. Thanks!
unfortunately for unknown reasons it looks like the seller has updated their Amazon listing and replaced the previous product (8" version) with a completely different 7" version like you mentioned. I am about to connect my computer to my atgames. I already have the pinball VPX working. And I have all the parts I need. I'm going 2 screen at first. But question, I'd like to buy an actual dot matrix display, because that will be more bright and vibrant than a cheap monitor screen. will this tutorial be relevant to that or do I need to find a specific tutorial for that? I imagine many of the steps are the same.

I did it with double sided tape clips the HDMI or usb cable is anoying though(don't Renner which one is the one that stocks out)

I resized the DMD image myself inside of VPX

Tried OTG today and have the frame skipping issue. Pretty much unplayable.

Yes, using the same stock controller board that was mounted to the back casing of the 8” lcd. I simply removed the back casing from the equation

I'm not positive but I think you select the location of, and/or turn off/on the DMD in the FX3 options.

cable provided isn't long enough to go all the way under the back box and then come up to connect into the board.

Correct, you can use pretty much any LCD you wish and aren’t restricted at all to use the one I went with

They do, but most people prefer to have the scoring on its on screen vs laid on top and covering up portions of the back glass art

Any screen that has HDMI will work with the “Rachel” board as all the board does is switch from one input source to another

steps would be the same assuming whatever Dot Matrix display you use has HDMI input
