- Stardeus continues and the addition of another Void Ripper means double the dark matter every time we go through a black hole. Back and forth we go, trading with everyone along the way because we seem to be a little shy of robot parts.

Inspired by Factorio and Rimworld, Stardeus is a deep colony sim set on a broken starship manned by drones and hibernating human survivors. As the immortal AI you will have your drones repair your starship, save or exploit your human crew and travel the stars in this beautifully complex simulation of a procedurally generated universe.
With only a handful of drones at your disposal, salvage, repair and rebuild your destroyed ship and restore life support before the crew suffocates in the vacuum of space.
Design and rebuild your ship according to your own needs and desires. Balance the onboard systems of oxygen, heat and power to ensure long-term survival.
Process resources into useful components to maintain and expand your ship’s facilities. Grow crops and turn the harvest into food for your awakening colonists. Generate energy to power your ship and create a robust interconnected system.
Use and expand your massive computing power to research alien technologies. Discover new ways to survive the harsh universe and take care of or exploit your human crew.
Once powered and crewed by skilled colonists, take your ship on an odyssey to explore and mine the procedurally generated planets and systems of a vast universe.
Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. Live through an endless number of events and encounters introduced by the story-generating AI. Be it alien face huggers, benevolent traders or pirates: always be vigilant and deal with whatever happens the way you chose.
There will never be enough Stardeus on this channel. I love this playthrough. I NEED this game...
It's very well done. Reminds me of Vanilla RimWorld. Good now...and so much potential for the future.
@ That is a HIGH compliment coming from you. I definitely need this game, and I'm told the last update fixed stuff so it's playable again.
You have a large hole in a room with cryogenic chambers !!
Now version 0.12 is out.
Making Stardeus a very different game.
I'm aware. Unfortunately, if I switch to that my save game is burned. I'd have to start over.
VERY different.
@ ...how different? I love this game as-is, and I am always afraid of "different," let alone "very different."
They completely redid the map and the way you move through space. You can't freely explore the same way any more, and it costs a rare fuel resource to move about. Even just going from what was one planet to the next inside a star system costs a Fusion Cell, which is crafted from a new rare Phasenium resource.
There are a lot of new locations inside each star system to visit, but you have to spend a lot of time just idling around and manually scanning for resource deposits, because only Rocks and occasionally Iron show up on their own. Makes locating critical resources incredibly frustrating and time consuming.
Each isolated area you move to now has it's own "danger rating" representing how difficult it is and what you're likely to find. Asteroids, meteor storms, and micrometeors will now only strike while you're moving, never when you're sitting still, which cuts down on the events that occur, and with the new danger rating, raiders are significantly less common as well.
The space stations that I've seen are immensely limited compared to what they used to be, with very few things that they have to sell or are willing to buy. Probably an attempt to make the game economy harder and stop Dave from becoming a space millionaire again, but it makes finding anything you might need to buy in the early game almost impossible.
That's just a small selection. Obviously I'm still very early on in my new playthrough, so things will change as I get more established and can go to other areas, but the early game is simultaneously more difficult and more boring. :/
A lot of what they changed are things that I agree needed to be addressed, but I'm not sold on the specific changes they've implemented. The game isn't unrecognizable, it's still very much Stardeus, but the early game experience is VASTLY different.
@@wwlaos But the early game was already EXTREMELY boring and frustrating... Oh, Stardeus...I despise tedium. If I wanted to be bored, puttering about, I wouldn't play a game. I'd just participate more in my own life. Do devs honestly not understand what people play video games to escape these days?
I know you love when your human crew get to know the aliens, but setting up a kill room with floor spike trap floors is just as fun, just make sure no humans can enter
23:08 "Let's probe... Lowengrub." As you said that I was actually looking AT Lowengrub in my own game. XD It was a bit surreal.
Playing the new major update. I had another game going, but abandoned it to start with all the 0.12 changes. It... it's actually A LOT different. SO much has changed, it's nuts. Some of the changes I have... feelings about. Haven't played enough yet to have solid opinions, but definitely feelings.
I'm going to try not to say too much about it, though, because I know I tend to over-share about it and maybe, you know, you don't want me spoiling a bunch of the new changes and how things play out. Or maybe you do. I don't know. But I will *try* to hold myself back more
I'll try.
Since the update, there have been some issues with recording this. Hopefully I can get them sorted out.
Could you install missing to give Melania new parts instead of replacing irreparable? I don't know if irreparable includes missing or not. But maybe you just don't have the parts. Yay for replacing human colonists 🙂
I'm very low on parts
I’m pretty sure you can make most of those parts already
You can craft most of what you need. You don't have to buy them.
