Sure is a nice system. My wife would never let me have a sophisticated system like that with communicating control. She knows that instead of watching TV with her, I would be standing in the hallway watching the system data on the control. 🤓
Just for fun I had my Trane dealer quote this system 3 Ton Gas system they want $25,800. This is Houston TX. Last year same system quote was $17,500. Nice system but these prices are crazy.
@@themoderntradesmen9352 - What's the difference between XV18 and XV20i they quoted $21k vs $25k? They also included 10 year labor and refrigerant warranty in those prices. Still too much but they like to start high and negotiate it down later. Last year same guys quoted $21k for XV20i and kept dropping every week until it hit $17,500.
Before focusing on fancy, it would be nice if Trane could figure out the basics like how to get indoor coils to hold pressure, and also how to get a txv to last. It'd be nice!
The other day i had a xv18 installed. I hate that ux360 thermostat. It does NOT have all the same features its a down grade from the xl1050. No data no compressor % no run history all the features i want are gone and that screen refresh rate is just as bad with my eyes and you see in the video. one question for you will the older xl1050 still work with the xv18 and tam air handler? Im getting the runaround from my dealer.
Nice video. i just installed my first two communicating Trane, a 3 and a 2 ton. Did not know about the APP , so i can set to Test from my phone when i am on site. where do i download the APP. Do they need to have WIFI connected?

that's why I tell customers don't watch your controller because it will do the unexpected and have you there all day! haha
Insane technology and clean installation as well.
thank you!

@teflonjim that's crazy money! Definitely 17-19k is reasonable but that's my area of course

Can you clarify what you said about the "quick flash" to reduce noise? You said something like: "quick flashing"?
Quick flashing is the rubber black flashing on the wall that absorbs some compressor noise
Sweet equipment
I have to admit I was impressed

you can download on the app store or playstore and all you need is Bluetooth
Can you show where or how connect the sensor wire? Thanks
I mean the temprrature sensor
In the board , it says Supply T and you plug it there , In the manual there’s a map that tells you everything in the board .
You need to make sure you put the temp sensor 8” from the coil in the supply plenum
What app is it ??
Trane Home or Nexia app
