I might try it out~ I wish I can wear those bra tops, but I have a tummy 🥲 I know I still can, but I personally don’t like to wear fitted clothes (just like your mom lol). It would be nice & fun if you made a video styling your mom, if she’s comfortable being on camera ☺️
If you want to wear form fitted clothes, just go ahead. Your tummy should't stop you from wearing what you want. You can try to figure out if you feel more comfortable in fitted tops, with different cuts, lengths or materials. Usually fitted tops look great with pleated pants, even on a not flat belly. And try shirt with a little thicker materials. And let me tell you, a lot of people have a tummy, so what?
I completely understand! With my mum, I always recommend for her slightly more structured pieces that hit at the top of the hip bone (so neither too cropped nor long). It keeps the proportions balanced and you don't have to tuck it in (if you don't feel like it that day). I'll have a little brainstorm but I think I'll most likely include it in upcoming vlogs in snippets.

LOVE Uniqlo’s bra top options, makes summer dressing so easy! And I have to say I agree with your mom on that Ines de la Fressange skirt, I tried it on and the way they do the gather around the hip really emphasizes both the tummy and hip areas in an unflattering way

Great Vlog Helen. Really like the cotton trousers. I think here in the UK we may have slightly different options. The skirt you picked looked so smart on you and your mum😊 I bought the relaxed ankle trousers they have an elastic waist, straight leg, they also have a hidden tie around the waist so you can cinch them more. So good I bought 2 colours!! I definitely think the little vest top is very cute.Im thinking maybe you could layer over a merino knit in Autumn, could be versatile. Thanks for your content😘

I went to uniqlo last month with my mom and chose the mesh sweater you recommend (but mine is yellow, not white) and I combined it with basic for her. It looks so good with her light-toned skin! It's indeed have such a good texture and feel good on skin, not itchy.
I've also got the mini t-shirts that i wear at home or casually combined it with outers when I go somewhere. The fabric is so good, good quality enough to use the washing machine with no worry, also quick to get dry from sweat. I live in Indonesia, so this pieces is my go to inner outfit even when the weather is hella HOT 😵👌

Was the pair of Comptoir des Cotonniers collab pants hemmed? I read reviews saying they’re actually longer than listed on their size guide and I’m 5’2” with 25-26” inseam. I’m worried they might have too high rise and longer inseam for my frame. But they also look like a great pair to keep on rotation for office/workwear in spring and summer?

Alll the mini t shirts I bought developed random grey markings after the first wash. Every single one. I didn’t wash with anything dark coloured, and I’ve seen a few Reddit posts about this issue. Have you experienced this?

In the wash, never. As to dryer, I can't comment here as I don't tend to use the dryer for clothes. I imagine on a cooler gentler cycle cotton and linen should be ok.

I saw the airism skirt yesterday when i dropped by uniqlo yesterday. The taupe looked grey colorwise. But because it was pretty thin ofcourse, so i was afraid it would show the panty line..
None of the Uniqlo links in the description work for me. I get redirected to a 404 on the German Uniqlo domain (I am from Germany). I'm pretty sure to have checked many other Uniqlo links from you and they've always worked. Might be worth looking into?

The tube with a bra is great. Bought it and obsessed with it.
As a girl who is not chubby but has fat cheeked armpits, the other tops other than the tube one is a no no. My fats on my armpit would be spilling out. What more if you are on the heavier side unless u have skinny armpits amd arms. The dress too, tried, it passed on it. The dress only looks good if you are skinny or have skinny arms. The mini shirts are okay but i'd rather buy 2 sizes bigger of the regular shirts they have, more comfy and looks great on any bottom and looks great as an inner for any coats or jackets or cardigans. The rest of the clothes she mentioned are okay. Airsm underwear are the best. The airism short shift dress is great for travelling and going to the beach, it is comfy and it dries fast if you wear it over a wet bathing suit.
I love their bra tops. I like sleeveless tops but I hate strapless bras (and I hate when bra is showing). Somehow even nude strapless bras show through the clothes because the edge is...I don't know, thick?
Can I ask your weight? I'm 1m6 and 49-50kg. So I'm confused between S and XS.
I'm about 53-55kg. I'm almost always an XS in Uniqlo. In Asia, I'm S as their sizes run smaller.
@@DailyHelenJ I'm about 1,60, 52-53 kg , as well and live in Europe. In their clothes Im usually an S and sometimes M (in theirAirism crops). Im XS only in their dresses because Im short with thin arms
Agree that that lounge pant is very pilly! It pilled after a couple wears for me 😢
I had a pair a few years ago and I think it was a similar experience with pilling :( Hope your other pieces have been more successful x
I gave a try to the Uniqlo mini-tee and my neckline is out of shape after one wash (cold wash and no dryer)!
Mine (3) all got weird dark grey stains! I have no idea what happened.
Unfortunately, Uniqlo has frankly immoral labour practices
I hate that this is the case but basically everywhere does. Of course individuals should be mindful of their consumption and what their money supports. But unless you're buying high end clothes, you're inevitably supporting bad labor and environmental practices. It is practically unavoidable unless you buy very very intentionally at higher than affordable prices or make your own clothes. I'd rather buy Uniqlo than Shein or Forever21, I think people just have to try to minimize harm as best they can and for me, Uniqlo quality tends to be better than a lot of other fast fashion and therefore the pieces last longer and I don't have to buy as much. Individual action does matter, bit it's also a very small drop in a very large bucket.
@@FloraSprout I'm not sure if you're aware of it, but that's a straw man argument used by many who don't want to modify their spending habits even slightly. I am not claiming totally ethical consumption is possible under capitalism. I say that Uniqlo is particularly bad. There are plenty that are better, and it is probably useful to to look up what Uniqlo has been responsible for in the last decade alone before making a choice to repeat buy from there. That's all.
