Not only are the millenials needing well priced housing, but so are the Poorer people, the Divorced and the Retired. The "Old Homes" have such wonderful attention to detail, are often larger rooms with high ceilings, and offer the chance to turn a house that needs upgrades and TLC into a really fine home. Being able to do your own repairs is also a big bonus, and many.opt for "Sweat Equity" rather than hiring out repairs, out of necessity. Older homes are generally built well, but need upgrades and repair (many have suffered "delayed maintenance"), yielding not only a great house on a budget, but also a neighborhood with more value. Do it at your own speed...and it's not necessary to put a lot in. Mostly people WANT a brand new (not pieced together) kitchen. I don't! I will put no more than 55K into the house I'm getting that I found on their site just before the show debuted. And that includes finding or building a garage and HVAC system, and replacing the old roof. It's a way to get into my own place, and I LOVE OLD HOUSES~

Well if the bones are solid you can renovate old houses.Upstate New York has a lot of them.
