Collected a few of these indicators over the years.Would like to make them a tool of value and purpose.Thanks for the inspiration.Going to adapt them.Make them useful.
It's quicker to bandsaw it and clean it up than it is to install my parting tool. (I don't have a BXA parting tool holder, so I'd have to take off my BXA toolpost and put my old Norman patent post on.)
Its got starret base and no post or anything to fit it . Got wooden case ,magnet base,dail indicator,few different ends for it botton little ball end and point. A post that does little funky bend when tighten screw i believe been while but its missing something to put sll together. Cup with threaded stud on it i believe. Couldn't find anything st hardware store to fit. Its obe of best buds grandpas stuff he was a machinist. He no longer with us i got quite a spread of his machinist tools. My bud has no use for tgem so he gave um to ne and i bought few of things to off of him. Im going get a Kennedy box off him in few weeks its nice but well used box not in bad shape kind of a survivor. Going ro get building cleanded up set little unimat up. Should be few fun projects need done to learn on to. Im welder fabricator mechanic by trade. Wellcright now im a retired. Lol without a pension. Odd job jeep me more tgan busy. And then theres family always needing stuff done. Tgey pay i tey not take it but always say here make ya take it. But yeah that looks like nice project. Im look see whst model mine is today. I have that same Starrett hole adapter. Was not sure how I could make it work. Thanks for your video.
Mines got a solid stem and botton runs the dail ison back. Its a little face gauge.
