@Thomas B 100hp isn't much at all. Been riding for 8 years, have firends that started on 600's as well as a family member that started on a litre bike. It comes down to how much you respect the power and how disciplined your throttle control is. The RS660 is between the 650 starters and a 600 super sport. Best of both worlds and a great long term learner motorcycle. Anyone that picks up a 400 will get bored with it in half year, speaking from a friends first hand experience.
@@kirafuller7016 thats not a good way of judging if its a good beginner bike or not. I understand you might have friends that started on a 600 and went just fine, however there are a lot of people that started on a 600 and are not alive at the moment to give us a bike review.
I love it! Definitely a loud exhaust and maybe not the best if you only use your bike for commuting. Tune wise, I haven't had any issues. The idle can be a little meh during cold start, but not sure if CRT specific tune would fix that or not
@@SK_XIII good to hear that you like it. I don't really mind loud (my neighbors might feel different lol). Right now the rs is purely a "fun bike" for me with no intent of commuting on it. It sounds good on camera but I'll bet it sounds even better in person. Thanks for sharing.
I can’t wait to put an SC project on my 660 but I have a few things holding me back. Did you install the full system by yourself or did you take it to a shop to get done. (I’ve only ever done a slip on, on my ninja 400) Also how did you go about getting the ECU up mapped afterwards, I seen BT sells the whole tool for 800 but for something I’ll use once maybe twice I’m looking for a solution that doesn’t have my bike in the shop for weeks and cost me thousands. If you could help brother I’d greatly appreciate it !
I hadn't installed an exhaust on a bike before and I was able to install the full exhaust by myself. The hardest part was definitely the header bolts, just have to be patient with that. I talk about it in my exhaust install video so check it out! As far as tune, I just used the UpMap since it lets you use pre-made custom maps so its literally plug in and download for ~500 bucks
Have you tried changing up the rider mode to dynamic or individual? I run individual and take the engine brake down to the least intrusive. IMO it makes canyon riding waaaay more fun! 😬
I have been riding more on individual mode these days! I'll check out the engine braking thing though. As I am becoming more comfortable, I do find the engine braking to mess up my senses going into a turn
I love your RS660 and your videos man, but I was really surprised you let that guy go right by you, which ended up making you slow down. I would have edited that part out. That ruined the video... At least for me anyway. You have this super loud exhaust, and a race tune on one of the best handling bikes out there, and some random dude who ended up slowing you down goes right around you like he owned you up there. I get not wanting to go faster with another bike on the twisties... That's why I would have edited that part out. Just my 2 cents. Well anyway, your 660 sounds amazing man 👍
Appreciate the feedback mate! For the sake of the video I'd agree and did think about editing it out. Decided to leave it in to show that these situations can happen so the content reflects reality vs always sunshines. Def bummed about the slower pace :/
Yes, obnoxiously ) A great helmet can help with that, but some riders also use earplugs. These exhausts aren't meant for the non-track use but give a good power boost.
Do you suggest this bike to someone that comes from tracer 9 gt 2021 and wanna go into SS world ? Will it leave me satisfied? I’m not interested in track days. Just rides in town or mountains
I would say yes! As far as comfort for a sports bike, this is as good as it gets right now in the market (unless you go for a beginner 300CC sports like like an R3, etc). The comfortable ergos make it a easier transition imo from something like a tracer 9
I haven't gone in to a shop to confirm this. But in theory dealer should still do warranty work unless they can prove exhaust caused the issue. In reality, not sure if it would work out that way
@@SK_XIIIJust got my bike 2 days ago, the black one. Really wanted to get the acid gold but they don’t make those anymore. Got check engine light today 😂. Gotta check in with the dealership tomorrow.
@@crusoeart2951 Damn that sucks about the CEL...hopefully nothing too bad. I'd ask the dealer about the exhaust while you're there. If they are nice they might give you a pass for the exhaust loll
@@SK_XIII i did, when i was buying my bike, their answer was kind of vague ish. By my understanding, i will fuck up my warranty if i do any kind of tuning and remapping. Also dealership near me they don’t offer/do any exhaust modifications.

I think the RS660 is a great beginner bike. Great tech, super sexy aesthetics. My only complaint is the cramped seat. Power is adequate.

Nice view at the finish.
Must have felt on top of the world up there. 👍
The view is definitely amazing and feels surreal. The air is nice and crisp up there too, it's awesome !
oh god, I love this sound!!!
Sounds better in-person too!
How are you liking the crt exhaust so far? How does it feel combined with the tune? I'm thinking of doing essentially the same mods.
