after being a sales associate in shoe stores for a while, theres a really good test to figure out if your insoles are decent or need to be replaced. just take them out and hold them by one end. if it dips or sags, it is no good. if it cannot support itself, it is not supporting you very well either.
Jordan 1s and AF1s are THE most uncomfortable shoes I've ever worn...but they're two of the best looking shoes ever, especially the J1s. I definitely want a pair but i need super thick cushioning. Might have to buy a pair and get some good insoles.
The Kobe and Lebron 11 "insoles" are drop in midsoles and each of those models have hallow midsoles to accommodate. They wont work in shoes that do not.
+RAC'S LIFE good point, unless you have a sneaker that is just too big for u the drop ins can take up extra space. What I dont get is how pro athletes have orthos, and how they fit that into a regular sneaker as well. On a different note, how crazy would it be if adidas made a boost insole...
+Hes Kicks Id put boost insoles in everything if they were available! As for the pro atheletes orthodics question, I believe, its been documented a couple times over that in a number of ways (including custom insert fitting and general lasting) the pairs the signature athlete is wearing differ from the retail pairs.
I have two pairs of Jordan 1s that I've been "breaking in" for 8 years and _still_ hurt the balls of my feet *a lot* after 4-5 hours of wearing them, even if sitting or laying down and not standing or walking much. I just took a nap in them and woke up with so much pain in the ball of my left foot I had to take them off immediately and switch shoes before I go out and run errands. That's what prompted me to finally search about it and find this video. And I know it's not just me or my feet because I work 12 hours in work boots on a regular basis and never have abnormal or excessive pain in my feet like this.
I just purchased a pair of Retro 1’s. They are my first Jordan’s ever. Is it normal to feel a lot of side foot pain, over the bone next to the little toe? It’s killing me. Everything else is awesome and it feels very comfortable right out of the box.
I have flat feet so I put in Sole Performance insoles for arch support. It’s heat moldeable. Only downside is the insoles cost between $50-60. I bought a set for each of my shoes.
Jordan 1's are ok comfortable. My size 11 wide feet do have more room inside them compared with other Jordan retro models. Especially when it comes to larger toes box area. Unfortunately I have wide feet and bunions and my large toe always seems to rub against the inside. No bueno.
I find that going up a size or two is the best way to go nowadays. I'm a size 12 but if I can get a good deal on a 12.5 or 13, I go for that instead. My problem isn't so much about the insoles but the toe area of the shoe. I have size 12 Air Trainer 1's but they kill my right little toe.
you have to rip them out slowly, there are stripes of adhesives that applied on to the back of the insoles, proceed slowly or you will mess up the shoes
To be honest Hes at 29 im not buying any kick i have to alter to be comfortable. The boost line just killed that for me. Thats why I switched my style from retros and SB's to lunarglides, flyknit lunar line, free's, and pure & ultra boost. The only basket shoe i will buy now is a kobe

Ive been using some sof sole gel ones that finishline sells, they work great on some shoes but they are a bit thick for some, making the shoe a little too snug. Wish nike would just sell some lunarlon insoles
What about the heel? I find it very inflexible and tight. Wore my lows today for half an hour (not the first time, I have them for a few weeks) and now I have no skin on my heel. Any tips? How long does it take to break them in?
same problem here, top of the heel hurts as hell when I move. Weird thing is that left pair is ok, I have this problem only for the right pair. Did you find a solution? I don't want to destroy my foot wearing this.
A year?!? 😢 shit, now I remember why I always avoided Jordan’s. Wore my 1s low today for probably 6th time and my feet are burning, thinking about selling them again
