At 12:37, you're entirely correct to "come up with a plan"...
And I *LOVE* it when a plan comes together.

You are not alone in the visualization

I love my LRM shenanigans. 2 longbows and 2 LRM carriers. You can watch as assaults melt. Park them in the back and run some reasonably fast skirmishers to screen.

For an escort, once you get to 3049(3050) era, check out the Axman 2n. That in a LRM lance make a good short range blocker, it can contribute to the LRM fire and when something closes, that LPL, 3 ML, and Hatchet can rip it up. ~1500 BV is a little pricey, but at that era it works nicely.

The only glaring problem with your unit composition is that you only have 2 or 3 mechs with hands, and this setup will get kneecapped if the scenario calls for supply train issues.
Still, full points. Love the visuals of the Demolishers sitting pretty against a backdrop of high explosive barrages.

Over-specialization breeds weakness. No 'Mech can move backwards as fast as an equal-sized 'Mech can run forward. Unless you're fighting a Victor or something else with weapon ranges of 9 or less, the enemy will close in before you can do enough damage. There will ALWAYS be an opportunity to use anything once or twice but I wouldn't do it all the time.
I will admit, based on the anime I've seen it WOULD look very cool though!

Interesting subject. IRL, specialized units at the Company level would be attached to larger units starting at the Battalion level. It would be odd to find a specialized Platoon sized unit fighting alone and not as part of a larger unit, but BT unit sizes are a world unto themselves.
As to the subject at hand, I would be most worried about an LRM specialized lance being countered by Aerospace units, which will close faster than anything else available and ignore terrain in getting there. Therefore, I would buy a Partisan AA tank to escort the Longbows. As for blocking units, The Demolisher is an all-or-nothing unit: Great if the enemy is only using Mechs, but what if they are using a swarm of smaller units? I would rather take 2 x Von Luckners for roughly the same cost. Half the AC/20's, I grant you, but they bring a diversity of weapons capable of dealing with any sort of opponent.

2:36 Oh, who *WOULDN'T* do that?! I've never played tabletop before, but I have little doubt that I would occasionally have to stop myself from making laser and explosion sounds out loud.

Best theme music for Battletech imo. Robotech soundtrack. Battle Stations.

Archers are great mechs?!? Just kidding; they are fun but challenging. They were my first foray into 3025 tech (I started in the 3070s) and I was baffled that anyone would design a mech that immediately starts to overheat when you walk and fire its primary weapons. With that said, I have two stock archers in my current campaign force.

In all the hundreds of years explosive mixtures have been around in the BT universe, you'd figure there would be new ones created that would make the LRM/SRM even nastier. But nope, not even the Clans came up with better than what the IS rocks.

For LRM5, is 1 Ton ammo/2 launchers enough? How many rounds of ammo should I Carry?

Depends on the duration of the mission. My usual rule is 5s & 10s get 1 ton, 15s & 20s get 2 tons. If you have the spare mass, an extra ton is helpful but I prefer armor or a laser.
