I hate the burbling between gears that’s the ignition cutting out for a split second as it makes the shift . Sounds like it’s misfiring because it is. There just trying to prolong the transmission life. The RHO is nice ,resale is going to go to the Raptor by a mile, even the TRX isn’t holding its value very well.
I considered buying a used TRX before getting the RHO. I couldn’t find a used 22 TRX for less than $80k with 20-30k miles and a clean carfax. That’s pretty close to what they sold for MSRP 3 years later. Right now TRX resale seems pretty solid.
@ Two ways future RHO year one "values" go, IMO. 1. It's a huge success and folks will always want the OG release for collections assuming low miles and great condition. or 2. They are not a huge success, making the years they are offered limited, say they pull the plug in two years, then the OG will have novelty/collectors value, given enough time. Worst case scenario it loses value, as do all consumable goods with few exceptions, and you "payed to play" and there is NOTHING wrong with that as long as one knows this going into the deal.

I still like the Raptor, as it has proven itself in so many ways over the years. Ram is trying to compete and doing a fair job of it. Ford gets a ton of feedback from all racing divisions, and Ram does not even race in the Nascar Truck series or has a very small presence in Baja and Score. Stellantis is a mess right now. I would need to see some more miles on the trucks before I would consider. Awesome video as usual!
Ford did a great job with proving Raptor was a beast from Day 1 running it in the baja. With that being said Toyota has been running the Tundra in the Baja 1000 as well as Chevrolet with the Zr2 1500/Colorado in the Mint 400. Seems like a no brainer for Ram to enter this event.
Can you make a daily living video with the RHO vs the raptor 🥺? And thank you for being so detailed with this. I was looking at a raptor initially but I keep becoming wow’ed by RAMs technology.
Sad but a lot of truth in this from my experience. My Cummins did worse than my powerstroke. My Hemis were substantially worse fuel economy than Ford or GM.
@CTECH-REVIEW Also, is the Raptor not on 37" tires compared to the rams smaller lighter 35's? That would make the Raptor at a disadvantage in fuel mileage, no? But for off-road capability the 37s would make the Raptor have quite the advantage for what they were really intended for. I love the weight savings of the Raptors aluminum body aswell. Both awesome vehicles id just prefer the almighty and original Ford Raptor if I had the moola to buy either.
@@freedomisntfree_44 They’re discounting the Raptors now and can get one base for less than $72k. For a Ram that’s having issues with engine misfires and wiring harness issue for bumper sensors, not worth $1700 a month. I’ll buy rental property and put my money to work for me.
The Raptor has a lot of pumped in speaker exhaust sound. There's a tune to remove it, but it also affects noice canceling and just makes things worse imo. The RHO also has better vibration dampening due to the fact that the engine is an inline 6. Inline 6s are naturally balanced, as apposed to a V6 that will NEVER be perfectly balanced even though it uses balancing weights on the cranks and harmonic balancer. I think regardless of what you get, both of these trucks are SWEET!!
This engine is so smooth, I have not been in another vehicle with such a smooth engine before. I love that about the RHO. Raptor is a great truck, proven! Raptor and RHO are both awesome trucks!
WTH are you talking about? No it doesn't! The F-150 PowerBoost emits a noise using an external speaker when the vehicle is moving approximately 22 mph or less, regardless of whether the engine is running. And the sound is nothing similar to an engine noise. It's akin to EV vehicles to let pedestrians know that the vehicle is moving. I've had the PB and now own a 2024 F-150 Raptor. I have not heard the RHO in person, but from what I can tell, the Raptor sound is much better, especially in Baja mode. From what I can tell from this video, they did not use Baja mode and instead used Sport mode, which is quieter than Baja. To me, the Baja mode sounds like a V8 Dodge Charger but softer and it has that snap, crackle, and pop.
@@LochRavenLittleDam LOL dude....educate yourself. a 2 second google search could have prevented you from looking so dumb. The F150 Raptor has "fake exhaust" sound that is played through the speakers. The exhaust itself has it's own normal sound that can be manipulated through valves(like sport and baja mode), but it ALSO has exhaust sounds that are played through the speakers to make the exhaust appear to have a deeper tone. This system works inline with the noise canceling system, so deactivating the exhaust note also disables NCS.
@@CTECH-REVIEW Honestly, the only other car I've owned with a smoother feeling engine was my BMW 335 or my Lexus LS460. It's pretty impressive, but also not that astonishing considering you really have to fuck something up to make an in-line 6 to be unbalanced.
Great video! I went to Mark's DCRJ and purchased a RAM RHO! When you decide on which step rails your going to instal, will do a separate video on them?
The zf8 in the ram sounds so much smoother and cleaner shifting than the 10 speed that slurs shifts, idk why but all the 10 speed trucks I’ve owned (f550, f150 5.0, ranger raptor) all seem to have mushy torque converter lockup vs the zf shift logic.
I like the ram a lot more than the ford… it doesn’t have anything to do with it being a ford… I like fords just fine… also you can’t really compare the fuel mileage between the two since the ram is always in 4 wheel drive… I know that ram would get a lot better fuel mileage if you could go to 2 wheel drive… I have a Ram 1500 with a 5.7 hemi and it gets 19 to 21 on the highway but if the roads are snowy and I’m in 4 wheel drive mode it gets about 16 miles per gallon… awesome video.. thanks buddy…
Definitely the full time 4x4 impacts the mpgs on this truck! I hope someone finds a way to disconnect this in the future. Thats a big impact to fuel economy! holy cow. Thanks for watching, I am glad you like it!!
Great vid, I have a Gen 2 and currently a Gen 3 raptor put 25K miles a year on them and then trade in for new. I am honestly a little bored with them. It still impresses me every day and its the best truck I have ever had but I am seriously considering a RHO just to mix it up. I love the ZF 8 spd transmission and actually putting one in my 1993 RX7 lol they are that good. Every day I adjust the shocks to full soft, steering on soft if its not windy, and exhaust in sport or baja and I love that configurability in the Gen 3 vs Gen 2. Can you change exhaust note and shocks on the RHO?
Thanks for the comment and for watching! Exhaust note does not a valve that can be actively changed, the RHO uses a passive valve that changes the sound under back pressure!
From a raptor owners perspective (biased). Ford looks better (amber DRL’s are a such a signature), Raptor name has more equity, nobody knows what a RHO is (normal people), from a speed perspective the Raptor has enough speed, I don’t drag race my truck, the ride is the biggest thing for me. Everyone that gets in my truck is amazed how soft and luxurious the ride feels. Stiff is for the sports cars. All that considered if I got $15k off and a good trade in, I may need to do a test drive, that’s real money. I don’t see any RHO on autotrader with big discounts though.
Great comment and thanks for watching! I havent seen many dealers advertising hugely discounted RHOs...they do not really need to at this point as they seem to be selling pretty well. If you order MD and other dealers can show you what your pricing would be!
Thanks for the great content! I've had 3 recent F150s..basically everything short of the Raptor ( 3.5PB, 5.0, and Lightning). Ford has really done a good solid job on this current gen and I had zero issues with all of them. I'm eyes wide open though! Significant savings for the RHO over the Raptor. I want to try it out, but worried about perceived reliability of Stellantis products and Ram in particular give me pause. I know it doesn't matter as much, but MPG is abysmal too. I'm hoping RAM decides to offer 2H range in subsequent years that can help make it at least on par with Raptor fuel economy wise. Overall, I may give it a year or so for the Hurricane to prove itself, but its looking pretty good so far. No denying the Ram value is there and the interior is much better over the F-150. Keep the great content coming! Cheers.
Thanks for the comment and for watching, I think in winter we will see a 1.5mpg fuel mileage less on RHO vs Raptor but I think in summer it will be less then 1mpg. the fuel savings would be minimimal when you look over a year. I am going to put this truck through its paces, so far I am impressed. with in a few weeks I will be darn near 3500 miles and of that hard winter and towing use...stay tuned some good videos coming on this truck!
I know this question doesn't quite fit the video, but I have a question and I'd like to know what others think so I can make a decision. Which one would you choose to buy considering only these two options, the basic F150 Raptor 24 or the Ram Power Wagon HD 24?
Another great video comparison! I have a small request, any chance you can give us the overall height of the RHO truck factoring in the shark fin? Ram has exterior body height at 81.9” want see if that accurate with fin. Reason I ask is a buddy had to slightly modify his garage for his TRX to fit inside. Want to check if the RHO will fit inside my garage. Thx
Have you had a Gen 2 Raptor with the Live Valves? I'm curious how you'd compare the ride with the RHO. I love road trips in my 2020 because it's so comfortable but the truck definitely wallows a lot.
I have owned 2 19 Raptors, 21, 23, and 24 Raptors. They ride a lot different than the RHO, I spoke about the comparisons in a few different parts in this video. Specifically around the wallowing topic of the Raptor.
Hey friend! Thanks for the review. I appreciate it. I'd probably choose the RHO just based on the fuel tank protection. I like the shocks better on the Raptor. Which one of the two would you pick? I know you've had Raptors in the past.
Thanks for the kind words and for watching! Well....The 25 RHO in this video is the one I bought! haha but I would be open to a 26+ Raptor based on the future design/changes and pricing they bring to market. But for me right now I believe the 25 RHO is the best truck for me.
Even the 3.0 in the ranger raptor has quite a bit of vibration, especially when starting up at idle. Feels like it’s missing, runs pretty rough. Can’t beat an i6 for smoothness.
Great comparison video ! Some thoughts; If mileage was your goal, then dropping the RHO into Snow Mode would get you a better return. For keeping the comparison equal, dropping the Ford into 4X4 mode would bring them closer - you'd also be abe to tell just how much driving those extra two wheels in the Ford cost you. Thanks for the video.
@ That would be interesting, due to the inability to tune the ABS/traction control modules on RHO and Raptor so yes, it would be a good video to watch, plus it would be interesting on what type of fuel each tuner used and so forth. I kinda spoke unfiltered about the tune, but it would be nice to see a traction comparison between a 22’ Raptor with a Torson package vs RHO, without the locker engaged.
Great job from ram but still Ford raptor takes the lead It’s easier from other manufacturers not to say copy others but they have a base (Ford) to start building their way up
Ford has a Raptor Assault Program. Ford suspension stiffens with mode change. Ford's gas tank is 36 gallons vs Ram's 33 gallon. My next truck will most likely be the RHO. It will come down to who has the better price.
Compare all you want... Raptor is the best looking pick up on the planet. It's such a nice looking Truck. The stance, fenders, front lights. Raptor looks like a rich persons pick up/ toy.
I love hands-free driving on RHO. I frequently use Co-Pilot on my Raptor. However, I don't trust it completely-especially when it comes to stopping suddenly for cars ahead on the freeway. I'm certain I would have been in two accidents if I hadn’t stepped in. If I didn’t already own my current Raptor, I’d jump on the RHO in a heartbeat. The full hands-free driving, more horsepower, improved interior, smoother acceleration without lag, and lower cost make it an incredible package. Did you notice any harsh shiffting on 2025 model? My 2023 Ford 10R80 transmissions tend to shift roughly and occasionally clunk, especially during hard braking. This i hate!
@@CTECH-REVIEW Supposedly Ford smoothed out the 10 spd for 2023 and newer. Maybe it’s hit or miss. I have the 10spd in my ‘21 Explorer and it does clunk a bit, def not smooth around 3rd gear as well.
@ I heard that the updated CDF drum was introduced in the 10R80 transmission around August 2022. My 2023 Raptor, built in October 2022, doesn't experience the clunk most of the time anymore, although I did notice it occasionally when it was new.
I have now officially done 10+ hour road trips in both seats. Seat foam in Raptor is more compliant. But I wonder how it will hold up with some more miles on it being so much softer.
Watching this video, two things come to mind... One, Ford and Ram will lead this segment of trucks. Two, why hasn't GM attempted to get foray into this segment of trucks with a proper offering. The Bison, and AT4s don't come close to these two trucks.
This Ram is bonkers sick. The fit & finish is awesome. and what most talk is the ride quality being a whole other level. The looks of a Dragon and the power of a cammed big block Hemi is more than enough for me. Baruk Hashem יהוה למבול ישב וישב יהוה מלך לעולם

Thank you for the comment! I just learned about snow mode and can already tell it works for better fuel economy!!
You can't go wrong with either. But awesome Truck's.
You got that right! Thanks for watching!
You should make a comparison video with the tuned 22’ V6 Raptor optioned with the Torsen front differential.
That would be cool! Better yet let’s do a tuned raptor vs tuned RHO video!
EVERY RAM TRX / RAM RHO NEEDS To Check This NOW Transfer Case Fluid Fill HOW TO
Great to share! thank you for the comment!
Can you do a Silverado ZR2? I know they don’t compete, but that’s Chevy’s top offering.
For sure. I did some reviews on a 2024 1500 zr2 and a 24 at4x. Both nice trucks. It’s time to do a 25 model year one.
Sport mode will stiffen the suspension and decrease body roll, also tighter steering
Very true. Does that for both trucks. Pretty cool! Thanks for watching
I bet putting in premium into the raptor (it doesn’t require it but the RHO does) would increase that mpg even more.
That’s possible!
Having owned a gen 3 since the second they came out I’ve only ever fed it premium and get the mpg shown in the vid. No dif really
@ depends on how you’re driving it sometimes too though
Good to know. Thanks for this comment and for watching.
Probably. I’m on 37s and easily average 17 with mixed driving. 93 only tho
I like both trucks, I just cant stand how Ford dips their window sills for the mirrors.
I don’t mind that. It’s a signature look for Ford now.
Great job from ram but still Ford raptor takes the lead
It’s easier from other manufacturers not to say copy others but they have a base (Ford) to start building their way up
Thanks for the comment and for watching!
I didn't catch the gearing comparison between the two, I'm sure the RHO is 3.92.
RHO 3.92. Raptor 4.10.
Ford has a Raptor Assault Program. Ford suspension stiffens with mode change. Ford's gas tank is 36 gallons vs Ram's 33 gallon. My next truck will most likely be the RHO. It will come down to who has the better price.
Yes both RHO and Raptor sport mode stiffens suspension. Larger tank is nice on Raptor.
Raptor assault is pretty cool. I’ve never done it but I do know people that have.
Most of the 500 pounds iyou mention s the Ford aluminum v. Ram steel body panels.
2025 Ram RHO CONSTRUCTION. Hood - Aluminum
Tailgate - Aluminum
Front Fenders -Fiberglass
Upper and lower control arms - Aluminum
Rock Rails - Steel
Bed Sides - Steel
I would say RHO
12-14mpg at 70mph for a 6 cylinder is just sad
6 cylinder, but 540HP, some trade offs on these off road trucks!
@CTECH-REVIEW yeah I hear ya.. but if I'm going to get crap mpg then give me a v8 with 540hp lol
It’s a truck you wuss
Compare all you want... Raptor is the best looking pick up on the planet. It's such a nice looking Truck. The stance, fenders, front lights. Raptor looks like a rich persons pick up/ toy.
Thanks for the comment and watching. Raptor is a great truck! I have enjoyed mine.
I did not notice any hard shifting in either 2025. Thank you for watching and for leaving the comment!
@@CTECH-REVIEW Supposedly Ford smoothed out the 10 spd for 2023 and newer. Maybe it’s hit or miss. I have the 10spd in my ‘21 Explorer and it does clunk a bit, def not smooth around 3rd gear as well.
My 24 R trans was on point. Felt smoother than this 25 I drove.
@ I heard that the updated CDF drum was introduced in the 10R80 transmission around August 2022. My 2023 Raptor, built in October 2022, doesn't experience the clunk most of the time anymore, although I did notice it occasionally when it was new.
Ram copies sooo much of the best parts of the F150. Cant claim them. Ford seats may not look as fancy but comfort is better forsure in a long drive
I have now officially done 10+ hour road trips in both seats. Seat foam in Raptor is more compliant. But I wonder how it will hold up with some more miles on it being so much softer.
Rho all the way but level 2 !
Level 2 is the secret sauce option!
Watching this video, two things come to mind... One, Ford and Ram will lead this segment of trucks. Two, why hasn't GM attempted to get foray into this segment of trucks with a proper offering. The Bison, and AT4s don't come close to these two trucks.
It would be interesting to see what GM would do with a high-performance truck! I talk about this topic in the POV RHO video also!
The issue with the Ram is that it's a Chrysler/Stellantis product so, always Dodge a Ram I say.
I look forward to seeing Stellantis rebuild their reputation!! they need it bad right now!
The issue with the raptor is that it's a Ford product...
The 10 spd sounds better to going through the gears.
Thank you for the comment!
He’s a dodge boy.
I do not own any Dodge products!
You must sell them
Or they pay you
This Ram is bonkers sick. The fit & finish is awesome. and what most talk is the ride quality being a whole other level. The looks of a Dragon and the power of a cammed big block Hemi is more than enough for me.
Baruk Hashem יהוה למבול ישב וישב יהוה מלך לעולם
It’s a nice ride!
Looks of a hippopotamus
I’ve noticed since the rho was your newest purchase you really seem more biased towards that vehicle
Mho
I try to be as unbiased as possible. I have owned both now. I see pros and cons to each.
Yep in every comparison nothing wrong with that is just when someone really likes a truck that’s how it is I’ll be the same with the raptor 😅
Is always like that after a divorce, the new girlfriend is always better 😮
@@RDSZ 😂😂😂
FORD ALWAYS does it better.
It’s great seeing the competition between these two trucks.
@CTECH-REVIEW makes them both compete even harder with the consumer benefiting the most💪
100%
Hey, steel skid plate over a gas tank is not smart steel and rock create sparks 🧨
Interesting point, I could see that but every Jeep or vehicle that is used in extreme rocks in Moab use steel skid plates not plastic or composite.
It's game over if Ford ultimately chooses to upgrade the Ford Raptor with the same tuned engine as the Ford GT (660HP)!
I hope it happens! They have had 8 years to do it. Personally I would prefer a coyote 5.0 raptor capable of 800-1000hp
Interior needs upgrade too
