Excellent musicians... world class!!! Am I the only one that can't stop looking at all of the cable mismanagement? It is sad for such an event... especially one that is video recorded.

Weckl is one of a few drummers ( like Carlock and Vinny) that make drums sound like an instrument and not a beat machine.

I agree. And personally I think a lot of this has to do with the fact that Dave mixes his own drum sound, even in live performances like this. He's a master of the instrument but also the sound that he wants

Let's just take a minute to appreciate how well Dave has looked after himself physically. He still boasts a prowess on the kit that hasn't been affected by his age or the tolls that the years take on your body. He still plays like a 20-something-year-old Weckl, if not way better!
I think as good as he was in the 80's/90's, he's even more dialed in now if that's even possible! Its so musical and effortless looking its ridiculous!
Pity Vinnie didnt sign up to the same scheme.
Yes..Yes..saw Dave live show with Electric Band in '87 and followed him over the years.
Just keeps developing and getting more tasty & chops so good.
He's way more relaxed... which makes him just that much better.
he talks about this a lot in his lesson videos on his youtube that are public. he completely changed his grip which allowed him to stop worrying about his forearm hurting, and he can basically keep playing until he doesnt want to anymore
His fluidity is just unmatched.
look at the smile between these two giants Dave and Tom in the 3:46 (roughly) section, You must hear the whole tune!.
I've heard this tune at least 50 times, every time over and over It makes me chill. This smile on the stage between musicians it something only those that on stage can know and feel
The finesse and musicality he puts into the drums. It really music and not just chops.

Yup, just another Wow performance from Dave and the band. Fantastic. I love how Dave had to 'take a wee breath' at the end of this one, again after giving it his all. Full commitment, Full to the brim with super chops from every department on stage, and Bursting with musicality. Rare. Thank you, Dave and the band, and thank you MDO for sharing. Truly inspiring.
