  • The Analogue Pocket supports Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and Game Gear cartridges. Here are some tips to get your cartridges out of that stinky old drawer and get them looking spiffy on your shelf. (And protect them.)
Purchase snap cases (and artwork): www.customgamecases.com
Download artwork inlay for DIY printing: thecoverproject.net
Google Drive folder with my DIY inlays: tinyurl.com/vxvb4s5s
The printer I used: tinyurl.com/bd5upke2 - Please note I picked up this printer for $40 during Black Friday a few years back. It's currently marked up because it's low stock. There's no reason to buy this model. Honestly, most new color inkjet printers will give you quality on par with this. (Just be mindful that ink is expensive.)

Beautiful 👍 I've been kinda bummed out since my Pocket arrived a few weeks ago with a right shoulder button that barely works; it's been hard for me to watch any Pocket-related content actually, but this video hit the spot 🎯 I love that you kept your childhood carts, as did I, and that you've been collecting and preparing for the Pocket since 2019, just like me 🙂
I haven't gone all fancy on the packaging like you though, I've just picked up a big stock of the original clear plastic Game Boy and Game Gear cartridge cases, and third-party equivalents for GBA carts. I will need to come up with a way to display them now; according to an old My Life in Gaming video, apparently clear acrylic nail polish displays work quite well for handheld carts 🤷‍♂️

That SUCKS about the shoulder button! I would contact Analogue support if you haven't already. For me, GBA is probably the lowest priority platforms on the Pocket. If I were you, I'd just enjoy the hell out of some GB and GBC games, since they don't use the shoulder buttons. Also, many GBA games don't use shoulder buttons, and others only need one (L and R do the same thing): gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/916598-game-boy-advance/70649135.
I'd recommend browsing Etsy for some cart storing/displaying ideas. I'm sure the nail polish displays would be great. You really don't need to print artwork and buy custom snap cases unless you're insane like me. 🙂

@@PestulonGaming yeah, it was pretty brutal to finally get the Pocket after all this time and to have a problem like that. Apparently it's a pretty common issue, and it's always the right shoulder button for some reason. We have a thread on Reddit of fellow-sufferers (misery loves company 🙃) just for this one specific defect. In any case, I contacted Analogue on December 20 and finally got a reply on January 14 (I think they really are a small company 😹). Hopefully we're finally on track to get this fixed 🤞
I certainly have been enjoying classic Game Boy in the meantime, but just the knowledge that the thing is broken has been hampering my enjoyment. Either way, I thought it was really cool what you did with the boxes and the artwork, just an overall neat idea that seems to have turned out quite well. Always enjoy your content, cheers dude!
