- The video suggests that in Astrology a person’s Rising Sign is more important than their Sun Sign.
The moment that a person is born marks the Ascendant which is a degree of the Star Sign that is rising over the eastern horizon at the time of birth. The time that a particular Star Sign will be capable of being the Rising Sign will vary from 45 minutes to three and a half hours depending on the Sign itself and the distance from the equator that a person is born.
This Ascendant also determines what the first house of the astrology wheel will be.
The Rising Sign will form the first house and is where Heaven meets matter.
The Rising Sign also determines Self, Body, Character and Appearance.
The Rising Sign is also contrasted with the Sun Sign and the Moon.
There is also discussion of the planetary Joys, being the seven classical planets, and to which houses they are attached to.

Well Nigel I believe what your saying to be true. Because being an Aquarius sun 🌞 and Libra Rising and Capricorn Moon. I'm beginning to listen more to my Ascendant Rising sign of Libra, than I am the other 2. Being Libra rising, I love that which aesetically pleasing to the eye, whether that's beautiful people with beautiful souls, or heart and soul stirring music to awesome art! I find so many things that turn me off, or switch me off concerning the ugly side of nature and mankind. Thank you for this..now when I was born with Ascendant as Libra, I must have been premature as I only weighed 5lbs and according to my late ancestors I was lifeless and limp, as in didn't take my 1st breathe for awhile as had to be brought around to it. Yet Venus the ruler of Libra, shows up in my 5th house with my sun sign and one other planet Mercury..I believe my part of fortune is in Virgo as is Pluto in 12th house...transformation! Whether almost never making it into life was my very first transformation, I cannot say. I'm extremely interested in Astrology and have always been so, but I'm not particularly mathematically minded, so as Maths is applied here..I don't know how I would fare with working out the structure of the planetary degrees! This is an interesting perspective. I'm a Capricorn Sun/Moon and Sagittarius Ascendant. I always found myself relating to my rising sign more and Venus which is Aquarius. Although I do have that practical and cautious Capricorn approach as well.

Maybe go to a natal chart generator and fill in your date and place of birth, and then set the time at Midday - that should give you a close approximation of the Sign that your moon is in. The Moon is in a Sign for two and a half days, so it will be pretty close. It won't give you the Degree within a Sign. However, there are 30 degrees in a Sign and the Moon moves 13 degrees per day , so you will be narrowing the Moon's placement to about six degree either side of where the chart generator says the Moon is when you use Midday as your birth time. The Moon might actually be closer to your real birth time if your real ( but unknown ) birthtime by some fluke is actually closer to Midday. If the natal chart generator puts your Moon in the Middle of a Sign when you use Midday, you can be pretty sure that Sign is your Moon Sign. Nigel x

Hi Narsa, because the rising sign changes every two hours on average, you need : 1. Your time of birth; 2. Your place of birth ; 3. Your Date of birth. Find a free natal chart generator on the web ( there are many) and input the information. That will generate a birth chart. On the left hand side of the circle you will see something that says ASC. That stands for your Ascendant - also called the rising sign. Look at the star sign that it is in. It will be in the first house, marked with the numeral 1. Below the chart, there will probably also be a list of planets and the star sign they are in, and it will also say what your Ascendant (rising sign) is. The crucial thing is that you need to know the time of your birth. You'll already know your date of birth and where you were born ( or the nearest big town). If you don't know your time of birth, you won't be able to know your rising sign, even if you know where you were born or the date of birth. Good luck ! Nigel
